    Claims (11)

    1. A tank container comprising a cylindrical tank (16) with head ends each being connected via a head ring (17) and a saddle arrangement with a head frame which comprises an upper cross member (13), a lower cross member (12), and corner posts (11),
         characterised in that the saddle arrangement comprises two profile elements (18, 18'), having a first end, a middle section (22), and a second end, wherein the first end is connected to the upper cross member (13), the middle section (22) follows the head ring (17) along an angle range and is connected to the head ring (17), and the second end is connected to the lower cross member (12).
    2. A tank container according to claim 1, wherein the middle section (22) of the profile elements (18, 18') is connected to the respective corner post (11).
    3. A tank container according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the head ring is formed by one or more segments.
    4. A tank container according to one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the angle range is at least 50° and preferably about 80° to 100°.
    5. A tank container according to one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the profile element sections which are located between the angle range and the connections with the cross member (12, 13) are straight.
    6. A tank container according to one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the connection of the profile element (18, 18') and the cross member (12, 13) is located between the middle and one quarter of the cross member (12, 13).
    7. A tank container according to one of claims 2 to 6, wherein the outer side of the profile element (18, 18') is trimmed in the area where it interconnects the corner post (11).
    8. A tank container according to one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the profile element (18) is formed from a rectangular tube.
    9. A tank container according to claim 8, wherein the corner post (11) contains a window (25) in the area where it interconnects the rectangular tube in which the rectangular tube (18) engages.
    10. Tank container according to claims 1 to 7, wherein the profile element (18') is a U-shaped profile element with flanges (27, 28) extending in an outward direction.
    11. Tank container according to claim 10, wherein one flange (28) of the U profile element engages a slot (29) formed in the corner post (11), and the other flange (27) is fixed to an outer face of the corner post (11).
