Abstract

A snowboard step-in binding having a rotatable soleholder that can be moved between two limit positions and can be opened using an opening lever. In order to ensure a secure lock with the soleholder even with a layer of snow present, but prevent inadvertent opening, a dual-action lever with one arm designed as an opening lever and the other arm designed as a rotating lock is provided. This rotating lock is maintained by forcing two cam surfaces, which extend from a common apex and contain an intermediate rest surface, against a locking bolt by the force of a spring.

Description

Snowboard - Einsteigbindung Snowboard - entry binding
The innovation relates to a snowboard entry binding with preferably three shoe holders arranged on a base plate which can be fastened to the snowboard for interacting with the long sides of a shoe sole, one of which is provided for one of the long sides, has a functional mouth shape and can be pivoted between two limit positions during the or the other shoe holder for the other long side on the base plate is or are fixed, with a two-armed lever being articulated on the pivotable shoe holder, one arm of which serves as an opening lever for arbitrarily transferring the shoe holder from its locking position into its release position and the other arm as Rotary bolt is formed, which is held in contact with a plate-fixed locking bolt by means of the force of a spring via two curves starting from an apex.
With this snowboard entry binding, due to the apex of the rotary latch for the swiveling shoe holder, there are two movement phases from an intermediate position to the respective limit position, the force of the spring effecting or supporting the movement into the limit position in these phases. Conversely, the force of the spring counteracts a movement into the intermediate position.
Since with this snowboard entry binding an involuntary opening of the binding must not take place after getting in, but on the other hand it should be possible to clamp the sole of the shoe even with a certain layer of snow on the base plate, a securing element is available which after the movement of the swiveling shoe holder about the intermediate position in the locking position prevents its unintentional reversal of movement beyond the intermediate position. The arrangement is such that when the opening lever is actuated, the securing member is also actuated and the shoe holder is thus unlocked for the purpose of shoe release. A special retaining spring is provided for the securing member.
The task of the innovation is to create a generic snowboard entry binding which, in terms of construction, nevertheless fulfills the required safety conditions.
This is achieved in that, based on the vertex between the two curves, the curve moving away from the fulcrum is connected to the vertex with the interposition of a locking recess.
If a force acts on the shoe holder in the sense of opening, which leads to a movement of the rotary bolt against the force of the spring, this movement inevitably ends when the locking recess runs onto the locking bolt.
Es zeigen:An embodiment of the innovation is described below using the attached drawing. Show it:

Grenzlage. Since the innovation only affects the swiveling shoe holder of the generic snowboard entry binding, the entire binding is not shown. The base plate of the binding is indicated schematically and designated 1. In side cheeks 2 it carries the shoe holder 4 on a pivot axis 3. The pivot axis extends parallel to the longitudinal direction of a shoe to be picked up. On the functional side, the shoe holder has a mouth-shaped design, so that a hold-down 5 and a driver 6 are formed. A two-armed lever 8 is articulated to the shoe holder 4 with an axis 7. The axis 7 runs parallel to the pivot axis 3.
The arm of the lever 8 extending out of the binding serves as an opening lever, while the other arm is designed as a rotary bolt. A locking bolt 9, which also runs parallel to the axes 3 and 7 and is mounted in the side cheeks 2, serves to interact with the rotary bolt. In these cheeks a pin 10 is also attached, on which a tension spring 11 is suspended. The other end of the tension spring is suspended from a pin 12 which is fastened in the opening lever.
The arm of the lever 8, designed as a rotary bolt, has two curves 13, 14 and an apex 15 lying between them. Starting from this point, curve 13 approaches axis 7 of lever 8, while curve 14 moves away from axis 7. According to the innovation, the curve 14 connects to the apex 15 with the interposition of a locking recess 16.
Fig. 1 zeigt den Schuhhalter 4 im Einstiegbereiten Zustand. Fig. 1 shows the shoe holder 4 in the ready-to-go state. When a shoe is inserted, the sole with its corresponding fastening part, which is indicated in FIGS. 2 and 3 and is designated by 17, comes into contact with the driver 6 and, when the shoe is depressed, first swivels the shoe holder into the position according to FIG. 2. In this position, the curve 13 of the rotary bolt has already run along the locking bolt 19. The detent trough 16 lying beyond the vertex now bears against this. The shoe holder 4 is thus blocked in the opening direction. As you step down the 3, in which the curve 14 bears against the locking bolt 9 in its outer region. The system is secured by the force of the spring 11.
If a large force is now transmitted from the shoe to the shoe holder 4, which exceeds the resistance of the spring 11, the shoe holder can probably move into the position according to FIG. 2. When this position is reached, however, a further upward pivoting of the shoe holder is blocked by design. To open the binding at will, this point can only be overcome by operating the opening lever.
