- dampening units are known for moistening printing plates before the inking process, which transfer a metered damp film to the printing plate.
- the dampening units are usually designed as film dampening units (DE 19 529 204), siphoning dampening units (DD 120 154), spray dampening units (DE 19 501 148) or brush dampening units (EP 05 18 083).

- the object of the invention is to provide a simple application unit for damp liquid.
- the roller diagram shows a pressure cylinder 1 with gripper systems 2, an offset cylinder 3 and a forme cylinder 4.
- a first anilox roller 5 with a first chamber doctor blade 6 and a second anilox roller 8 with a second chamber doctor blade 9 are assigned to the forme cylinder 4 indirectly via an application roller 7 for ink application.
- the anilox roller 8 is assigned a variable-speed drive 10 and it is equipped with a hydrophilic surface.
- a transfer roller 11 can be arranged between the application roller 7 and the second anilox roller 8. In this case, either the second anilox roller 8 or the transfer roller 11 is assigned a variable-speed drive 10 (FIG. 3).
- the variable-speed drive 10 is designed as a self-drive, for example as a motor.
- the drive can also be carried out by incorporating the drive gear of the second anilox roller 8 or the transfer roller 11 into the drive wheel train of the printing press and interposing a speed-controlling conversion element between the drive gear and the second anilox roller 8 or transfer roller 10. Brakes, clutches, gears, etc. can be used as conversion elements.
- the second anilox roller 8 can operate in the direction of rotation synchronous operation (indicated by the direction of rotation arrow in FIG. 1), ie the anilox roller and the downstream roller have the same direction of rotation at the point of contact. According to a variant, the second anilox roller 8 operates in reverse mode (indicated by the double arrow in FIG.
- transfer rate v 0 is determined by the circumferential speed difference v diff of the second anilox roller 8 or transfer roller 11 in relation to the downstream roller (applicator roller 7).
- the transmission diagram for the medium is shown in Fig. 2.
- the diagram shows the transfer rate v 0 in relation to the percentage circumferential speed difference v diff , a percentage circumferential speed difference v diff of one meaning the same circumferential speed between the second anilox roller or transfer roller and the downstream roller.
- the application unit for dampening solution is operated at operating point B1, ie circumferential speed difference v diff one (synchronous operation).
- the transmission rate v 0 is reduced by creating a circumferential speed difference.
- a circumferential speed difference can be created in the positive direction, ie to a value greater than one, or in the negative direction, ie to a value less than one.
- the application unit for dampening solution is operated in the ascending or descending curve area (marked as operating points B 2 in FIG. 2), ie there is a positive or negative circumferential speed difference between anilox roller or transfer roller and downstream roller.
- a positive circumferential speed difference means a value greater than one and a negative circumferential speed difference means a value less than one.
- the circumferential speed difference is reduced, the circumferential speed difference being reduced to a maximum of one (same circumferential speed).
- the transfer rate v 0 between anilox roller or transfer roller and downstream roller, ie applicator roller, forme cylinder or transfer roller is changed by only a slight change in the peripheral speed of the anilox roller or transfer roller to the downstream roller and thus creating a minimum percentage peripheral speed difference v diff .
- the range of percentage change in peripheral speed between anilox roller or transfer roller and downstream roller ranges from 0.970 to 1.015. An effective change in the transmission rate and thus optimal dampening solution management is only possible in this minimum range. This makes it possible for the first time to use anilox rollers including chambered doctor blades for dampening solution application. Due to the small circumferential speed differences, speed converters such as brakes and clutches can be used to create the circumferential speed difference. This reduces the effort required to regulate the dampening solution application.

Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Auftragwerk für Feuchtflüssigkeit in Offsetdruckmaschinen. The invention relates to an applicator for dampening liquid in offset printing machines.
In offset printing machines, dampening units are known for moistening printing plates before the inking process, which transfer a metered damp film to the printing plate. The dampening units are usually designed as film dampening units (DE 19 529 204), siphoning dampening units (DD 120 154), spray dampening units (DE 19 501 148) or brush dampening units (EP 05 18 083).
These dampening systems are complex due to the requirement for a finely metered and reproducible dampening solution application on the printing plate and they do not always meet the requirements placed on them in all areas of application.

Übertragungswalze 11 ein drehzahlvariabler Antrieb 10 zugeordnet (Fig. 3). 1 shows the roll diagram of a sheet-fed offset printing machine. The roller diagram shows a

Bremsen, Kupplungen, Getriebe etc. anwendbar.
Übertragungswalze 11 in Relation
zu der nachgeordneten Walze (Auftragwalze 7) bestimmt. The variable-

The amount of the medium to be transferred (transfer rate v 0 ) is determined by the circumferential speed difference v diff of the
The transmission diagram for the medium is shown in Fig. 2. The diagram shows the transfer rate v 0 in relation to the percentage circumferential speed difference v diff , a percentage circumferential speed difference v diff of one meaning the same circumferential speed between the second anilox roller or transfer roller and the downstream roller.
In the first operating variant, the application unit for dampening solution is operated at operating point B1, ie circumferential speed difference v diff one (synchronous operation). The transmission rate v 0 is reduced by creating a circumferential speed difference. A circumferential speed difference can be created in the positive direction, ie to a value greater than one, or in the negative direction, ie to a value less than one.
In the second operating variant, the application unit for dampening solution is operated in the ascending or descending curve area (marked as operating points B 2 in FIG. 2), ie there is a positive or negative circumferential speed difference between anilox roller or transfer roller and downstream roller. A positive circumferential speed difference means a value greater than one and a negative circumferential speed difference means a value less than one.
If the transmission rate v 0 is to be increased, the circumferential speed difference is reduced, the circumferential speed difference being reduced to a maximum of one (same circumferential speed).
Die Übertragungsrate v0 zwischen Rasterwalze bzw. Übertragungswalze und nachgeordneter
Walze, d.h.
The transfer rate v 0 between anilox roller or transfer roller and downstream roller, ie applicator roller, forme cylinder or transfer roller is changed by only a slight change in the peripheral speed of the anilox roller or transfer roller to the downstream roller and thus creating a minimum percentage peripheral speed difference v diff . The range of percentage change in peripheral speed between anilox roller or transfer roller and downstream roller ranges from 0.970 to 1.015.
