Claims (6)

  1. Socket for a multi-pole plug-in connector for the electrical connection of a vehicle trailer to a vehicle, with a socket housing (1) and a contact carrier insert (2) which is accommodated in the socket housing (1), for receiving electrical plug contacts (4) that are to be provided with electrical connection leads (3, 3'), which consists of a contact carrier (5) for the rear support of the plug contacts (4) in the contact carrier insert (2) and a contact cap (6) for holding the plug contacts (4) on the contact carrier (5), and with a support element (7), which in order to support the contact carrier insert (2) on a back mounting surface (8) is aligned with its rear end faces to the rear end faces of the socket housing (1), wherein the contact carrier insert (2) can be snapped into the support element (7) by means of catch hooks (17) that are provided on the support element (7), characterized in that when the socket housing (1) is mounted, the catch hooks (17) are blocked against elastic deviation, to prevent any release of the contact carrier insert (2), wherein the blocking of the catch hooks is effected by means of safety projections, which during mounting can, in relation to the catch hooks, be transferred reversibly from a release position into a blocking position, on account of the support element (7) resting on the mounting surface (8), that the contact carrier insert (2) and housing casing (9) as well as the support element (7) have first lateral openings (10, 12; 11) that are in alignment with one another, for leading the connection leads (3, 3') out to the side, and that a seal is arranged between the mounting surface (8) and the rear end face of the housing casing (9).
  2. Socket according to claim 1, with means for signalling the insertion position of a plug in the socket housing (1), i.e. e.g. for the trailer identification, in which in at least one connection lead (3') of at least one plug contact (4) of the contact carrier insert (2) to an output signal receiver device, a switching insert (13') which has a switching contact and which is located in a free space of the socket housing (1), and an additional plug (13) are provided, characterized in that the contact carrier insert (2) and the support element (7) have second lateral openings (14, 15) that are in alignment with one another, for leading the connection plug (3') of the additional plug (13) out to the side.
  3. Socket according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the first openings (10, 12; 11) of the contact carrier insert (2), housing casing (9) and the support element (7) lie diametrically opposite the second openings (14, 15) of the contact carrier insert (2) and the support element (7).
  4. Socket according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the additional plug (13) is equipped with contacts (16) that project laterally or are angled off laterally for the connection lead (3').
  5. Socket according to any one of the previous claims, characterized in that the mounting surface (8) is formed by a fastening plate (19), which is inserted, with socket-side threaded bushes (20), into rearward receiving chambers (21) of socket housing (1) that have been provided for the purpose, and that fixing screws (22) that can be operated from the front of the socket housing (1) project into the receiving chambers (21), to engage in the threaded bushes (20).
