Claims (7)

  1. Cylinder head of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, in particular comprising a casting with coolant water chambers (4) bounded by a base, a cover (5) and longitudinal side walls (1), extending through which the combustion chamber assigned to each cylinder has at least one inlet passage through one of the two longitudinal side walls (1) and at least one outlet passage through the other of the two longitudinal side walls (1), and adjoining the cover (5) are bolt posts (6) for cylinder head bolts and transverse walls (2, 3) formed thereon which extend as far as the base of the cylinder head,
    characterised in that
    the wall of the bolt posts (6) in the peripheral wall region directed towards the coolant water chambers (5) enclosed by the longitudinal side walls (1) and traverse walls (2, 3) is designed as a dividing wall between the respective bolt post interior and the adjoining coolant water chambers (4) in a region (8) starting from the base and terminating at a distance short of the cover (5), which acts merely as a fluid-barrier but does not transmit forces.

  7. Cylinder head as claimed in one of the preceding claims,
