Abstract

A detergent tablet with a sandwich structure of at least three layers comprises: (1) two external layers comprising an antiscaling agent; and (2) an internal layer comprising a bleaching agent. The external layers dissolve faster than the internal layer and are retarding agents for the internal layer in order to pretreat the washing water against lime scale. The tablet dissolves in two steps: first the external layers, then the internal layer when the external layers are entirely dissolved. An Independent claim is also included for the manufacturing of the tablet.

Description

The invention relates to a detergent tablet and to its method of manufacturing.

We know various kinds of detergent compositions for washing washing up in the machine.

In particular, powders or gels for dishwashers have been proposed. whose quantity required is empirically measured by the consumer who place in the dispenser of said dishwasher. This type of packaging is not satisfactory since the consumer mostly uses too much too little or too much powder or gel, leading to either improper washing, or overconsumption of products.

To solve this problem, so-called monolayer tablets have been proposed. made up of a mixture of components such as anti-scale agents, system enzymatic, bleaching agents, etc ... However, this type of tablets has the disadvantage of leading to the more or less rapid and random dissolution of components depending on the wash cycle and temperature. In addition, the effects component techniques are combined in an irrational way. Furthermore and above all, we may have to note the deposit of a white veil on the dishes, particularly noticeable on glasses, which suggests improper washing or rinsing and leads to a rapid and apparent deterioration in the quality of the dishes and the loss of the transparency effect of the glasses.

To solve this problem, the document WO 97/03177 has been proposed. a multilayer tablet made up of at least two layers, one of which includes a bleach and a bleach activator, while the other includes an anti-corrosion agent.

Even if this concept allows to separate the two actions, respectively bleaching and anticorrosion, we may still notice the appearance of white veil on dishes and glasses in particular. In other words, the anti-lime system did not play its role immediately, or at least insufficiently.

Document EP-A-0 481 547 describes a pellet comprising a core coated with two consecutive layers. In a preferred embodiment, the core contains the bleaching agent, while the outer layer is made up of enzymes, the nucleus and the outer layer being separated by a layer polymer-based intermediate. This type of tablet has the disadvantage to interrupt the activity of the various constituents between the moment when the layer external is completely dissolved and the moment when the nucleus begins to dissolve.

Document DE-A-4 404 279 describes a tablet comprising at least three layers, of which the central layer contains a bleaching agent. He is in additionally mentioned that the tablet can also contain activators of bleaching or enzymes. However, nothing is said about the exact location of these various constituents, as well as the sequence of dissolution of the tablet.

The problem which the invention proposes to solve is to provide a multi-layer detergent tablet for efficient washing while avoiding in particular the deposit of a white veil on the dishes.

Another problem which the invention proposes to solve is to provide a multilayer tablet, the dissolution sequence of which allows in particular to separate the activity of the bleaching agent from that of the anti-corrosion system.

Another problem which the invention proposes to solve is to provide a multi-layer tablet which remains stable during storage. We have indeed found that in the tablets proposed until then, the enzymatic system was degraded in particular by bleaching agents or blending agents bleaching / bleaching activators.

  • deux couches externes ;
  • une couche médiane ;
caractérisée en ce que :
  • les couches externes comprennent un agent anti-calcaire ;
  • la couche médiane comprend un agent de blanchiment ;
  • les couches externes présentent un temps de dissolution plus rapide que celui de la couche médiane et ont pour fonction de constituer des agents retardateurs à la dissolution de la couche médiane et donc de ses effets, en vue de permettre un prétraitement anti-calcaire de l'eau de lavage et donc l'obtention d'une eau pure pour le lavage ultérieur ;
To solve all of these problems, the invention provides a detergent tablet consisting of a sandwich structure in at least three superimposed layers, respectively
  • two outer layers;
  • a middle layer;
characterized in that:
  • the outer layers include an anti-scale agent;
  • the middle layer includes a bleaching agent;
  • the outer layers have a faster dissolution time than that of the middle layer and have the function of constituting agents delaying the dissolution of the middle layer and therefore of its effects, with a view to allowing an anti-lime pretreatment of the washing water and therefore obtaining pure water for subsequent washing;
the sandwich structure in at least three superimposed layers making it possible to obtain a sequence for dissolving the tablet in two stages, namely:
  • first, the dissolution of the two outer layers,
  • then, when the outer layers are completely dissolved, the middle layer dissolves.

In order to allow the rapid dissolution of the anti-scale agent, and therefore outer layers, said anti-scale agent is hydrated, advantageously prehydrated.

On pourra par exemple utiliser du tripolyphosphate préhydraté commercialisé par RHONE-POULENC sous la marque "RHODIAPHOS HPA 3,5".We can for example use prehydrated tripolyphosphate marketed by RHONE-POULENC under the brand "RHODIAPHOS HPA 3.5 ".

According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, and to allow a homogeneous dissolution sequence of the tablet, the outer layers have a identical composition.

In practice, the dissolution of the outer layers is carried out in a time range between two and seven minutes, preferably three to five minutes.

Similarly, the dissolution of the middle layer takes place in a range of time between 8 and 16 minutes, advantageously 10 minutes.

Furthermore, the dissolution time of each of the layers varies in depending on the hardness of the tablet. In practice, the hardness of the tablet is chosen between 3 and 40 kilopascals (KP), advantageously at 10 to 25 KP.

As already said, the tablet of the invention is in the form of three flat layers superimposed on each other by compacting their most surface large. In this way, the dissolution of the apparent periphery of the layer intermediate during the first sequence is very limited.

In practice, the weight of the tablet of the invention is approximately 20 grams, the weight of each of the layers distributed as follows:
  • outer layers of 5 to 7 g
  • middle layer from 6 to 10 g.

Preferably, the anti-scale agent is chosen from the group comprising the tripolyphosphate, soda, organic phosphonates, aminopolyalkylenephosphonates, aminopolycarboxylates, homo and / or acrylic and maleic copolymers, acidic or in neutralized form.

To allow dirt attack, the two outer layers include an enzyme system made up of protease type enzymes, amylase and lipase.

In addition, these outer layers may include an alkaline agent, a surfactant, an anti-tarnishing agent in particular with regard to silverware.

As already said, it is only when the two outer layers are dissolved, that the action of the middle layer begins.

As a bleaching agent, in practice a bleaching agent is used. bleaching chosen from the group comprising mono soda perborate or tetrahydrate, sodium percarbonate and sodium monopersulfate.

However, to allow more effective dishwashing after removal of lime and dirt, the middle layer includes in addition to a bleach activator selected from the group comprising tetraacetylene diamine (TAED), pentaacetylglucose (PAG), tetraacetylglycoluryl (TAGU).

To allow complexing of metal ions and bring effects dispersants, the middle layer further comprises a complexing agent chosen from the group comprising phosphonate or homopolymers of acrylic acid or copolymers of acrylic and maleic acid.

To strengthen the washing activity, the middle layer includes also an alkaline agent.

To avoid the appearance of foam, the middle layer includes an agent surfactant with anti-foaming activity.

Due to the separation of the enzymatic activity from that of bleaching, very good storage stability of the tablet of the invention is observed. Of more, taking into account the fact that the peroxidizing medium is without free water, there is only very little risk of loss of active oxygen. In other words, the system enzymatic is not disturbed by the peroxidizing system.

This optimized stability characteristic makes it possible to implement much more peroxidizing bleaches such as sodium persulfate or still chlorinated compound.

The invention also relates to the method of manufacturing the tablet. detergent for washing dishes.

  • composition of the middle layer as a percentage by weight of the final tablet acrylic homopolymer (PM 4500) 3 soda perborate 12.5 DAT 4 nonionic surfactant 1 perfume 0.2 pastillage additive 1 soda 5 cogranulate carbonate / silicate 13.3

The weight of the outer layers is 6 grams.

The weight of the inner layer is 8 grams.

We then proceed to dissolution tests in a dishwasher of MIELE ® brand under the following conditions: program without prewash at 45 ° C, washing time 18 minutes.

ESSAI 1 ESSAI 2 ESSAI 3 Temps de dissolution de la couche médiane 14 15 15 temps de dissolution de la couche supérieure 5 6 5 temps de dissolution de la couche inférieure 6 5 6 The dissolution times (in minutes) for each of the layers are shown in the table below. TEST 1 TEST 2 TEST 3 Dissolution time of the middle layer 14 15 15 dissolution time of the upper layer 5 6 5 dissolution time of the lower layer 6 5 6

The advantages of the invention appear clearly from the description.

Note in particular the sequencing of the dissolution of the outer layers and the middle layer to purify the wash water before washing proper and so not to get a white veil on the dishes and especially on glasses.

Note also the advantage of separating the outer layers based on agents anti-limescale and enzymatic agents of the middle layer based on bleaching to optimize the stability of the tablet during storage.

Claims (11)

  1. Detergent tablet consisting of a sandwich structure in the form of at least three superposed layers, respectively:
    two outer layers;
    a middle layer;
    characterized in that:
    the outer layers comprise an antiscaling agent;
    the middle layer comprises a bleaching agent;
    the outer layers exhibit a quicker dissolution time than that for the middle layer and are designed to constitute agents retarding the dissolution of the middle layer and therefore its effects, so as to allow an antiscaling pretreatment of the washing water and therefore the obtaining of pure water for subsequent washing;
    the sandwich structure in the form of at least three superposed layers making it possible to obtain a tablet dissolution sequence in two stages, namely:
    first of all, the dissolution of the two outer layers,
    then, when the outer layers have dissolved completely, the dissolution of the middle layer.
  2. Tablet according to Claim 1, characterized in that the two outer layers have an identical composition.
  3. Tablet according to Claim 2, characterized in that the two outer layers comprise, in addition, an enzymatic system.
  4. Tablet according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the antiscaling agent is prehydrated and chosen from the group comprising tripolyphosphate, sodium citrate, organic phosphonates, aminopolyalkylenephosphonates, aminopolycarboxylates, acrylic and maleic homo- and/or copolymers which are acidic or in neutralized form.
  5. Tablet according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the bleaching agent is chosen from the group comprising sodium perborate mono- or tetrahydrate, sodium percarbonate and sodium monopersulphate.
  6. Tablet according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the dissolution of the outer layers is carried out in a time interval of between two and seven minutes, advantageously between three and five minutes.
  7. Tablet according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the dissolution of the middle layer occurs in a time interval of between eight and sixteen minutes, advantageously ten minutes.
  8. Tablet according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the weight of each of the layers is distributed as follows:
    outer layers: 5 to 7 g
    middle layer: 6 to 10 g.
  9. Tablet according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the hardness of the said tablet is chosen between 3 and 40 kilopascal.
  10. Process for manufacturing the tablet which is the subject of one of Claims 1 to 9, according to which:
    the various constituents intended to form the outer layers are first of all mixed;
    in parallel, the various constituents intended to form the central layer are mixed;
    the portion of the mixture intended to form the first outer layer is placed on a support and then compacted;
    the mixture intended to form the central layer is then placed on the said first outer layer and then the complex obtained is compacted;
