Hierzu werden Schnecken eingesetzt, deren Kerndurchmesser von der Zuführ- zur Austrittsöffnung hin ansteigt, wobei an der Außenoberfläche der Schnecke die Schneckenwindungen in unterschiedlichsten Ausführungsformen ausgebildet sein können und einen Kompressionsraum bilden. Der den Kompressionsraum umhüllende Seiherkorb bildet mit gelegten Seiherstäben die Siebfläche für die abzutrennende Flüssigkeit, wobei durch dünne Distanzblättchen zwischen den Seiherstäben die freien Austrittsflächen erzeugt werden.
