Definitions
- the invention relates to a gas burner with a burner body, which at least is partially penetrated by a porous structure, being in the porous Structure the combustion of a fuel gas-air mixture takes place and where the burner body to exchange the heat of combustion at least a heat exchanger is assigned.
- the burner body is in the flow direction of the fuel gas-air mixture surrounded by a heat exchanger system. Via the heat exchanger can the resulting heat of combustion due to radiation processes and convection.
- the reaction zone in which the The fuel gas-air mixture burns at different power levels expanded to different extents. At low burner outputs this is Reaction zone only, seen in the direction of flow, very narrow. At high reaction rates increase the reaction zone. It has shown, that at low burner outputs a relatively high proportion of carbon monoxide is produced.
- the available burning zone of the burner body is divided into at least two partial firing zones and that from the first Partial firing zone (warm partial firing zone), which is in the range of a small one Burner lines formed reaction zone is arranged, less heat in the the space surrounding the burner body can be decoupled than from the rest Part burning zone (s) (cold burning zone).
- the invention makes use of the knowledge that when the burner output is low, the heat extraction leads to a temperature gradient within the burner body. This means that areas of incomplete combustion occur in the edge area of the burner body. The temperature required for CO to react to CO 2 is no longer sufficient.
- a reaction zone which is assigned to the low burner output is shielded from strong heat extraction, so that there is a uniform temperature distribution in the reaction zone. The temperature level is sufficient to allow CO to react to CO 2 . With large burner capacities, the reaction zone also extends into the cold combustion zone. Here, the temperature level in the entire burner body is sufficiently high to maintain low exhaust emissions. The decoupling of heat via the heat exchanger then no longer has a major influence on CO emissions.
- the first partial firing zone from the environment by means an insulation is shielded, which at least partially surrounds the burner body.
- a possible variant of the invention is characterized in that the burner body only in the area of the cold partial firing zone from a heat exchanger is surrounded. However, it is also conceivable that the burner body at least in Area of the entire firing zone is surrounded by a heat exchanger and that the insulation is arranged between the heat exchanger and the burner body is.
- the invention provides that on the exhaust gas side and in the direction of flow of the fuel gas-air mixture an exhaust gas heat exchanger is arranged behind the burner body.
- a gas burner according to the invention can be characterized in that the Fuel gas-air mixture is fed to the burner body via a distributor plate, which connects to a prechamber and that in the flow direction of the Fuel gas-air mixture connects the warm partial combustion zone to the distributor plate.
- the distributor plate acts as a kickback protection, which prevents flames from spreading into the gas supply tract.
- the Anti-kickback device can be cooled or uncooled, whereby for the Cooling the heating water can be used.
- the warm partial firing zone is trained immediately after the distributor plate. At low Burner capacities will become the reaction zone following the distributor plate only extend into the torch body for a short distance.
- the Distribution plate is installed in a base part that on the combustion chamber side, level Surface of the distributor plate of the burner body is placed and that the annular Insulation is placed on the base part in such a way that the warm part firing zone is insulated from the environment directly after the distributor plate.
- a gas burner is shown in section.
- the gas burner has one Feed line 11, via which a fuel gas-air mixture into a prechamber 13 is initiated.
- the prechamber 13 is accommodated in a base part 12 of the gas burner.
- a distributor plate in the base part 12 14 used.
- the distributor plate extends transversely to the inflow direction of the gas-air mixture.
- the top of the distributor plate 14 closes with the Top of the base part 12 flush.
- a burner body is on the distributor plate 14 15 put on.
- the burner body 15 is formed from a porous material.
- a ceramic foam, a metal foam, for example, can be used as the material Wire mesh or a bed of solid bodies can be used lie together to form pores.
- the burner body is surrounded by an annular insulation 16.
- the insulation 16 extends only in the direction of flow of the air-gas mixture a partial area of the burner body 15. This partial area is referred to below as designated warm zone A.
- This warm zone A closes cooled zone B.
- the burner body 15 is in the region of this cooled zone B. bordered by a heat exchanger 17.
- the heat exchanger 17 is in the present Embodiment formed by a coil which is spaced around the Burner body 15 is wound.
- the burner body 15 is one Exhaust gas heat exchanger 18 covered
- the exhaust gas heat exchanger 18 is from cooling lines 18.1 pulled through.
- the flame front does not extend at low burner outputs the warm zone A out. Because the insulation 16 prevents lateral heat drop, becomes an approximately uniform over the cross section of the burner body 15 Temperature distribution reached. The insulation 16 thus prevents cooling the edge areas of the burner body, which lowers the inventive Production of carbon monoxide is achieved. At higher burner capacities the reaction zone extends beyond the warm zone A into the cooled one Zone B. With such high burner capacities, despite the lateral coupling of heat via the heat exchanger 17 a relatively uniform temperature structure in the burner body 15. The arrangement described in FIG. 1 thus ensures that both at low burner outputs and at high Burner capacities sufficient temperatures over the entire cross section of the Burner body 15 are available, the reaction of carbon monoxide to allow carbon dioxide.
- FIG. 2 illustrates a gas burner that differs from the gas burner 1 differs in that the heat exchanger 17 in the flow direction of the gas-air mixture also seen across warm zone A. extends. Is between the heat exchanger 17 and the burner body 15 the insulation 16 arranged. The resulting at low burner outputs Most of the heat is exchanged via the exhaust gas heat exchanger 18. The heat that is passed through the insulation 16 is in this arrangement made available via the heat exchanger 17.
- the in the embodiments described gas burners are particularly suitable for heating devices, which are also used for heating domestic water. For heating purposes a small heating output is required. Here the combustion takes place in the warm Zone A instead. If there is now a demand for process water, it increases Burner output, whereby the combustion in both the warm and the cold zone A and B takes place.
- a wide range of modulation for burner output can also be realized, where there are always low emissions of carbon monoxide.
