Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Brennkraftmaschine (10) mit mehreren wassergekühlten und V-förmig angeordneten Zylindern (12,14,16,18) eines Zylinderkurbelgehäuses (20), insbesondere eines Kraftfahrzeugs, mit einem im V ausgebildeten V-Raum (35) zwischen den das V bildenden Zylinderreihen, mit jeweiligen Zylindern (12,14,16,18) zugeordneten Kühlmittelmänteln (26,28), wobei das Kühlmittel aus den Kühlmittelmänteln (26,28) in jeweilige Zylinderköpfe (22,24) und aus diesen über jeweilige Kühlmittelabströmöffnungen (32) zurück in das Zylinderkurbelgehäuse (20) in einen im V-Raum (35) angeordneten Kühlmittelrücklaufkanal (48) fließt. Hierbei ist in dem V-Raum (35) eine mit dem Kühlmittelrücklaufkanal (48) und den Kühlmittelabströmöffnungen (32) der Zylinderköpfe (22,24) verbundene Mischkammer (34) unmittelbar benachbart zu einer Außenwandung (38) der Kühlmittelmäntel (26,28) der Zylinder (12,14,16,18) ausgebildet.
