Aus dem Dokument D1:'RAIL BUSINESS REPORT' RAILWAY GAZETTE INTERNATIONAL, Bd.152, 1996, Seiten 17, 19, 21-24, XP000548933 SUTTON, GB sind beispielsweise die folgenden Fahrzeuge bekannt geworden:

For example, the following vehicles have become known from document D1: 'RAIL BUSINESS REPORT' RAILWAY GAZETTE INTERNATIONAL, Vol. 152, 1996, pages 17, 19, 21-24, XP000548933 SUTTON, GB:
  • 1. A one-story railcar, the driver's cab is provided with panoramic glazing that extends to the roof of the vehicle (see D1, p.17, both pictures).
  • 2. A two-story railcar, in which the driver's cab in the lower floor and the passenger compartment in the upper floor are each provided with their own panoramic glazing (cf. D1, p.21, Fig.3), the upper floor extending to the end of the vehicle.
  • The task for the invention arises from the arrangement outlined above, namely to provide those persons who travel on the upper floor of a double-decker control car with the possibility of a clear view of the route. At the same time, it should be ensured that people in the lower floor or driver's cab cannot be endangered from the upper floor. Finally, the arrangement should be realizable without expensive resources.

This task is characterized by the features of the claim 1 solved.

According to the invention it is particularly provided that the closed end of the upper floor as Glazing is designed, which extends from the floor of the upper floor to the roof and extends over a portion of the width of the vehicle and necessarily a safety device has in the lower area or in the cab People from falling people or objects from the upper floor protects.

Such glazing extends from the floor of the upper floor to Roof of the vehicle and also offers those people an opportunity to see through, not found right in front of the open front wall of the upper floor to have. The glazing is useful especially in the lower area with striking Add stripes or symbols so that it can actually be recognized.

In a further case, a balustrade is provided as a safety device, which extends from the floor of the upper floor over a section of the clear height of the upper floor. Such a balustrade delimits a gallery that People traveling on the upper floor convey the feeling from a balcony to the front to be able to see the route lying to them. It is also provided that at the top Another glazing is provided at the edge of the balustrade, which at least over a section of the clear height that extends between the top of the balustrade and the roof of the vehicle is open.

According to a further advantageous embodiment, it is provided that the Safety device is arranged on both sides of the vehicle center. Such Arrangement offers the possibility of additional exits to the lower floor next to one or to arrange both side walls within the vehicle. This creates a kind of Pulpit with full headroom in the center of the vehicle, as formed by the open front wall becomes. In still other cases, it is provided that the open end wall closes one of the two sides from the center of the vehicle to the side wall of the control car can extend.

The point of view of the people sitting in front of the open front wall is the bigger, ever further this open bulkhead is away from the cab. Consequently, another one advantageous embodiment provided between the cab and the open End wall to arrange an entry area. You can also add one Seating group should be provided, which connects directly to the cab itself.

The larger the glazing of the driver's cab, the more those travelers benefit of which are located near the driver's cab. That is why it is after a further Design option also provided that the front end of the control car is equipped with panoramic glazing. Modern technologies glass manufacture makes such glazing possible without further ado.

In addition, there can be a smaller one between the driver's cab and the open bulkhead Partition wall is provided, which surrounds the driver in the back, so as to a certain feeling of isolation from the passenger compartment of the vehicle to convey.

    • Fig. 1 einen Längsschnitt durch einen doppelstöckigen Eisenbahn-Steuerwagen entlang der Linie I - I der Fig. 3,
The invention is described in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment. They show the on a reduced scale
    • 1 shows a longitudinal section through a double-decker railway control car along the line I - I of FIG. 3,
    • Fig. 2 shows a horizontal section through a control car along the line II - II of Fig. 1 and
    • Fig. 3 shows a cross section through a double-deck control car along the line III - III of Fig. 2 on a slightly enlarged scale.

The two-story railway control car 1 of Figure 1 has an upper floor 2 and a lower floor 3, which are separated by a floor 4 and each with 5 seats. At the front end 6 of the control car 1 is a Driver's cab 7 arranged. The driver's cab 7 is located in the middle of the vehicle 8. The Driver's cab 7 is located in the lower area 9 of the control car 1, and is above of the chassis 10 set up.

The upper floor 2 is via a staircase 11 from an entry area 12 on the opposite End of the control car 1 reachable here. The front, pointing towards the driver's cab 7 The end of the upper floor 2 is designed as an open end wall 13. For protection in front of falling people or objects, this open end wall 13 is with a Security device 14 provided. In the simplest case, the safety device exists 14 from a glazing (not shown). Such glazing extends from Floor 4 of the upper floor 2 up to the roof 15.

In the present case, a balustrade 16 is provided instead of a glazing 15, which between the floor 4 over a section of the clear height of the top floor the floor 4 and the roof 15 extends. The top edge 17 of the balustrade 16 is provided with additional glazing 18 of low height. In this example is the end wall area 13 above the additional glazing 18 to below that Roof 15 completely open.

As can be seen in FIG. 2, the balustrade 16 is seen on the right in the direction of travel 19 the vehicle center 8 arranged. The upper edge 17 of the balustrade can also be widened be so that there is the impression of a balcony.

In the lower area 9 are between the driver's cab 7 and the open end wall 13 yet another entry area 20 and a seating group 21 arranged. In addition is an intermediate wall 22 is provided which separates the driver's cab 7 from the other areas of the control car 1. The additional partition 22 can be quite different be designed, it can either be transparent or opaque on sections and can be just as well over the entire width of the control car 1 or only extend over a section of the width.

Finally, a panoramic glazing 23 is provided, which the front end 6 of the Control car 1 completes.

It is also noteworthy in FIG. 3 that the side walls 24 are strongly curved are, which makes the cross-section III - III of the car body an approximately elliptical shape accepts. For example, the car body is made of modular elements - these are prefabricated Components - built up, which are joined together at points 25. That's how it is Roof 15 from the two modular components 26 and the two side walls 24 from the modular components 27 which are connected to the tub 28, which the vehicle part, i.e. form the bottom of the control car 1.

Advantages of the above configuration result, for example, from the fact that the Window 29 in the upper 2 and in the lower floor 3 can have the same curvature. Moreover the tub 28 is wider at the points 30 of the transition from the floor to the side wall 24, which gives the passengers sitting outside in the lower floor 3 greater legroom.

Further advantageous design options result from the individual subclaims.
