Description

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Sterilisieren einer Verpackungsmaterialbahn, wie es beispielsweise aus der DE 42 09 838 A1 bekanntgeworden ist. Bei diesem Verfahren wird eine Verpackungsmaterialbahn zuerst einem mit hohem Druck auf die Verpackungsmaterialbahn auftreffenden Wasserstrahl, und anschließend einem UV-Licht ausgesetzt. Mit dem bekannten Verfahren können auf der Verpackungsmaterialbahn anhaftende Staubkörnchen oder Ansammlungen von Mikroorganismen in hohem Maße entfernt bzw. abgetötet werden. Es hat sich jedoch gezeigt, daß insbesondere Keime des Typs Aspergillus niger gegen das bekannte Sterilisierverfahren resistent sind. Dies rührt daher, daß der im wesentlichen mechanisch wirkende Wasserstrahl nicht alle Keime des obengenannten, besonders UV-Licht resistenten Typs auf der Verpackungsmaterialbahn erfaßt und loslöst, insbesondere wenn dieser in mehreren Schichten neben- oder übereinander angelagert ist. Weiterhin sind chemische Medien, wie beispielsweise Wasserstoffperoxid (H2O2) bekannt, die zwar Keime des Typs Aspergillus niger von Verpackungsmaterialbahnen entfernen, die jedoch aufgrund ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung nur mit hohem Aufwand handzuhaben sind.The invention relates to a method for sterilizing a web of packaging material, as has become known, for example, from DE 42 09 838 A1.
