with a spring element between two
components approachable to one another from a rest position
is attached, according to the preamble of the
Many small arms, including most self-loading weapons, have weapon parts, which by the action of a Shot (recoil, gas pressure) against the force of one Spring are moved. In general, this lies Spring in its rest position against the weapon part with a Preload on that in relation to the spring constant is quite high. Now leads the weapon part by action of gas pressure forces through a return, then then brings the spring towards this weapon part the return direction back to its rest position. The weapon part usually hits hard on an abutment on, but does not swing noticeably because of it the spring presses forcefully against this abutment.
The situation is different if the pressure force of the spring is in their rest position in relation to their spring constants only is relatively small: then it is possible that the Weapon part rattles when it hits its abutment and took considerable time to rest to resume. Within this period the Location of the weapon part not defined, and in the interaction with other moving elements of the weapon malfunctions occur.
With the well-known self-loading shotgun FN-Browning, that came on the market around the turn of the century, one achieved extraordinarily high circulation and has been since then used by many hunters is for the Run provided its own return spring that is completely independent of the one acting on the closure and the Reloading trigger spring is. That feather is a coil spring that surrounds the magazine tube is arranged under the barrel parallel to this sits. One attached to the bottom of the barrel Sleeve grips around the magazine tube and rests on the Return spring from; sits between the sleeve and the spring slotted brake ring, which is between the The sleeve and the spring force exerted on each other is pressed against the magazine tube and brakes.
The post-oscillation of the return spring is thus strongly damped and no longer affects the function of the weapon.
However, the damping depends on the force exerts the spring on the barrel or sleeve, and is therefore weakest especially in the area of the rest position.
In addition, the known brake is indeed very reliable known, but only if the known shotgun is used under normal hunting conditions. Already a completely oil-free magazine tube leads because of the then dry friction and thus too high Braking effect to inhibit charging. For use under Exposure to sand and mud - less common with hunting weapons, common with military weapons - is unthinkable.
Now oil dampers are known from guns that the Steam the return of the gun barrel. Such oil dampers are similar the shock absorbers used in vehicles and are like this insensitive to pollution.
It would now basically make sense to be appropriately dimensioned Also use oil dampers on a handgun, in which the rattling of a weapon part avoided shall be. Weight, price and space requirements of such Oil dampers are high, however; also need such oil dampers of maintenance to always work properly function. After all, military weapons are said to be flawless and without even after years of arsenic storage major overhaul can work. For one with oil dampers equipped weapon this requirement is hardly to adhere to.
Finally, this could also provide adequate cushioning be achieved that a cushion of launch gases is used to counter the bulging of the weapon part to delay its abutment and thereby dampen it. Risk of contamination and a certain loss in the Shooting precision must then be accepted. A sniper rifle or a rifle with a similar one One demands from the precision of the shot refrain from such a solution, although there are many others Offers advantages.
Based on this problem, the invention is the Task based on a damped spring device for a To find a firearm, especially a handgun, the simple, easy, inexpensive, maintenance free and is stable.
This object is achieved in that the spring element is designed as an elastomer body in the rest position rests on the components under pre-tension.
The use of elastomer bodies as a buffer about The end stop of the lock has long been known e.g. from the Russian submachine gun PPSH 41, but it has been found with these weapons that the elastomer body will thresh over time as well as aggressive weapon lubricants and cleaning agents does not withstand in the long run and is therefore unusable becomes. However, they are now chemically resistant Elastomers have become known.
For the sake of completeness, that for the simplest homemade shotguns on the Philippines enjoy widespread use, elastic springs find use as impact springs.
A pressurized elastomer body that's practical how a steel compression spring serves as a return spring however not known and was not obvious because the previous uses of elastomers in small arms were not promising.
However, elastomers generally have the inherent property the hysteresis, d. H. those for resilient deformation energy used is not fully recovered when springing back returned again, but part of this Energy is consumed and occurs as the heating of the elastomer body in appearance. An elastomer body works So like a damped spring device, without a separate one Need to brake. It is at the discretion of the Expertly asked, with known properties of the Select elastomers one that not only meets the requirements chemical and temporal stability, but the hysteresis is also sufficient. This usually occurs the higher the hysteresis, the higher the frequency Deflection of the elastomer body is; at the impulsive Shock load to be expected with firearm parts is, therefore, consumes considerable energy count.
Since the hysteresis properties also depend on the shape of the Depending on the elastomer body, it is preferred that the elastomer body made of supported elastomer elements is formed (claim 2).
Basically, an elastomer material is incompressible, like a liquid; the elastomer body needed therefore an escape space into which it is pushed, if he should give in to a pressure load. It can however, it deforms beyond its strength limits and will be threshed, as with the known elastomer buffers was the case.
It is therefore proposed that the elastomer body be made of a closed-pore, preferably fine-pore elastomer exists and in one of it essentially entirely filled cavity enclosed by the Movement of the components can be reduced (claim 3). Around however, the pipe route may be enlarged, if necessary Cavity in the "starting position" of the weapon is not complete to be filled in by the elastomer body.
Because the gas trapped in the closed pores is compressible, is also such a porous elastomer compressible depending on the pore volume. Thereby, that according to the invention the elastomer body has a closed, fills the shrinking cavity, reinforces the spring constant with increasing compression, so that the elastomer body has an end stop for the Return movement can form, similar to a spiral spring made of steel, which is compressed so far that gear sitting in the aisle. At the same time, an inadmissible prevents harmful deformation of the elastomer body.
Porous elastomers are known (e.g. the cellular polyurethane elastomer, that of the BASF Group under the Trade name "Cellastoll" is distributed), which in addition to the required chemical and temporal stability less than 40% of their initial volume compressible are.
When enclosing the elastomer body in a closed Cavity, such as in one of a movable piston closed cylinder space, which is against the cavity contact surface of the elastomer body in the area, which is dislocated by the spring movement, so about in the area near the piston, a relative movement along the wall of the cavity. Because the elastomer body is increasingly compressed, it is against pressed this wall and exercises against this wall a braking effect, the stronger the more the Elastomer body is compressed. The elastomer body thus acts not just as a pen and as a result of hysteresis Damping element, but also as a mechanical Brake element, which, however, hardly exposed to pollution is because it is effective within the closed cavity is.
The cavity of two concentric cylinder walls is preferred is limited, of which one with a the components are connected (claim 4); thus the Braking action at both ends of the overall tubular Elastomer body. It should be noted that under "Cylinder walls" are not just the walls of circular cylinders are to be understood, but of cylinders in general Case, that is, tubular bodies that the at every point have the same cross-section. Instead of cylinders can of course also have other cavities or geometries provided for receiving the elastomer body (s) be.
The spring device according to the invention can on a handgun can be used wherever the overall length and housed the volume occupied by the elastomer body can be used as a closing spring Self-loading rifle with the elastomer body in the butt stock sits.
However, the inner cylinder wall of one is preferred axially movable barrel wall and the outer one rigid housing part formed (claim 5), and the spring device serves to return the one after the shot Self-loading rifle barrel regardless of the Closure associated closing spring back into its front Able to spend and stop there. This surrounds the elastomer body runs when it is in its Rest position is with little play, so that the free Swinging the barrel when the shot is not affected. Of course, this is not absolutely necessary.
The outer housing part is required anyway in order to Store barrel near the mouth and around a hand guard form so that the spring device according to the invention the total weight and cost price of the weapon only the weight and the cost price of the elastomer body elevated.
The barrel and outer housing part preferably consist of corrosion-resistant materials.

When shot, the
With this compression, the elastomer material becomes afterwards
