[Classes 9 (ii) and 119] A signal or Very pistol 9 is detachably mounted in an embrasure fitting 1 by a multiplestart screw thread 5a or similar bayonet-joint device, the pistol having a sliding catch 6a which engages notches 6 in the fitting 1 to lock the pistol in position. The shock of recoil is absorbed by an indiarubber cushioning device 3 mounted in a box 2 attached to the frame of the aircraft or other vehicle.
