A contact element with a connection for a stranded conductor, particularly a contact element for high currents that is provided with a conductor terminal end (3), wherein the conductor terminal end contains a transverse bore (4) for inserting the stranded conductor (5), wherein a threaded bore (9) that extends into the transverse bore is provided perpendicular to the transverse bore, wherein a clamping screw (10) with a conical point (11) can be screwed into the threaded bore, wherein the contact element has a plug end (2) and the transverse bore (4) is realized in the form of a stepped bore, wherein the conductor insertion side (6) of the bore has the reduced diameter and the threaded bore (9) begins at the plug and (2) and axially extends in the base body (1), and wherein the clamping screw (10) can be manipulated through the plug end, characterized in that the contact element consists of a cylindrical one-piece base body (1) of electrically conductive material, one end of which is realized in the form of the plug end (2) and the other end of which is realized in the form of the conductor terminal end (3).
  2. The contact element according to Claim 1, characterized in that the transverse bore (4) is provided with a chamfer (8) on the conductor insertion side (6).
  3. The contact element according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the clamping screw (10) is realized in the form of a hexagon socket screw (13).
  4. The contact element according to one of the proceeding claims, characterized in that the front end of the clamping screw (10) has a reduced threadless shaft (12) that transforms into the conical point (11).
