Abstract

A standing umbrella includes an upright pole, a top affixed to the upper end of the upright pole, a slide member displaceably mounted on the upright pole, at least four tensioning struts having free outer ends and inner ends linked to the slide member at respective pivots, a flexible cover affixed to the tensioning struts, and flexible carrier elements extending between the top and the tensioning struts. Displacement of the slide member towards the lower end of the upright pole moves the tensioning struts into positions in which they almost extend perpendicularly to the upright pole, diametrically opposite ones of the tensioning struts enclosing an angle of less than 180 DEG , whereby the umbrella is opened, and displacement of the slide member towards the upper end of the upright pole causes the umbrella to be closed. A flexible member extends between the tensioning struts and is affixed thereto for limiting the opening movement of the tensioning struts.

Description

The invention relates to a parachute, in particular a large screen, according to the preamble of claim 1, as it is especially for the garden, in the catering trade, as Market umbrella or used for advertising purposes becomes.

A large umbrella is known from DE 37 08 921 A1, in which a covering over the crown with the help of a slide articulated, horizontally in a tensioned state (180 °) protruding struts. The Tension struts are over on the crown and on the tension struts articulated support elements held in a horizontal position, while the radial tension of the fabric over on telescopic springs provided at the ends of the tensioning struts. The tension struts are here particularly a bending load exposed. Also opening with tensioning and closing relatively difficult, for which also a confirmation staff is provided with which when opening and tensioning the Slider is pulled to a stop.

From US 2,114,598A is a rain or parasol usable hand screen known in which the struts are articulated differently on the mast, the covering rests directly on the struts. As support elements are cords attached to the ends of the tensioning elements are provided, those in and through at the top of the hollow mast these are passed axially. The one at the bottom of the mast led out and summarized as a cord can in the cocked position, that of the open umbrella position corresponds to be determined. To tension the Umbrella must be on the cord with relatively great effort to be pulled. This is the opening of the screen only feasible if the screen is held upside down is so that it is under the weight of the struts opens and then only the cord is tightened accordingly and must be fixed in position. So it is it can be seen that this known screen structure for one Large screen is not usable, especially because of the too high, practically not realizable effort its operation. It is also known by the Parachute not available crown the support the support elements are practically directly at the top of the mast, what, transferred to a large screen with one Slider hinged struts, yet another, significant Deterioration in opening forces of the screen would mean. In addition, this is known Umbrella construction for umbrellas with one over the cord support elements lying covering, especially because of the Change in length of the support elements during opening and Closing, not usable.

The object of the invention is to provide a parachute mentioned above Specify genus in simple, at the same time is constructed in a resistant manner and actuation of the Umbrella allowed with little effort.

This task is characterized by a standard umbrella Features of claim 1 solved. Beneficial Design are characterized in the subclaims.

The umbrella of the invention has the advantages that for large screens, the operating staff for opening, closing and Tensioning is low even without force-transmitting aids are that the movements are ergonomic, and that the screen allows a continuous inclination without essential shift of focus. It is also advantageous that mast and linkage optionally made of tube or solid material, e.g. Wood, can be made because of the struts are only axially loaded.

The invention is described below using exemplary embodiments explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.

As can be seen from Fig. 1, there is the invention Fixed umbrella from a mast 1 with a round or polygonal or preferably rectangular cross-section and a crown 2 at the top, on the flexible support elements 3 made of ropes are attached with at least four struts 4 are connected at their outer ends. The struts 4 are in turn articulated together on a slide 5. in the closed state 6 (Fig. 2) is the slide 5 above, near the crown 2 and carrying elements 3 and Tension struts 4 hang down. An extension 7 allowed convenient operation of the umbrella. To open the slider 5 moves down. So that the struts 4 deflected and spread. The angle 9 between opposite struts 4 is always smaller than 180 °. The struts 4 form with the slider 5 as the center a cone-shaped body, the maximum opening angle is limited by a circumferential rope 10. That I when opening the screen parts up and other parts moving downwards is basically the possibility given to balance occurring weight forces. Over the entire path that the slide 5 is moving however, the operating forces on the slide 5, due to changing Torques, not constant. You can at the beginning of the opening process be relatively high.

There is a measure to reduce the initial forces in it the protrusion / extension of the crown 2 and thus to make the initial torque as large as possible. Can too for this purpose also the articulation 17 of the struts 4 on the opposite side of the slide 5 performed (Fig. 6), which increases the starting torque.

It is advantageous if 5 additional weights on the slide are attached to reduce the operator. This However, weights can also be on the upper end of the tension struts 4 be attached.

According to a further embodiment, the rotating Rope 10 replaced by radial ropes between opposite struts.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the limiting function of the rope 10 from the covering 11, 12, 13 met.

Because of the large spreading angle 9 of the tension struts 4 just by the weight of the slide 5 and the Tension struts 4 a relatively large force for tensioning the Given.

It is particularly advantageous if the opposite Ropes of the support elements 3 connected to each other to form a rope are and run over the crown 2. There they are led and held and are slidable in the longitudinal direction (Fig. 5). By moving the ropes 3, the Cone formed by the struts 4 in the open state (Fig. 4) at an angle. To fix the inclined position of the cone, the ropes 3 are connected by a known, Clamping device, not shown, on the crown 2 in the held each position.

Fig. 7 shows several embodiments of the invention. In first version is the covering (11) below the Tension struts 4 attached. In the second version, it is at rest (12) on the struts 4. In the third version the covering (13) from the outer ends of the Tension struts 4 over the crown 2 and lie in the open Condition on the support elements 3. In all of these embodiments the covering 11, 12, 13 is at least on the outer ends of the struts 4 attached. In the weird The condition of the cone (Fig. 4) is also the covering 13 inclined. Slight deformations that occur are balanced by the flexible rope system.

In various other embodiments of the invention the support elements consist of ribbons, chains, wire, Net, textile or plastic fabric, foil or the like.

In another version, the goal is height 14 of the umbrella roof spanned by the support elements 3 to be as small as possible (Fig. 1 to 3), e.g. to achieve the largest possible opening. Without deterioration the initial torques this can happen that from a certain opening angle of the screen the effective length of the flexible support elements 3 is shortened is done depending on the opening angle are deformed radially or tangentially, the latter If the support elements 3 are carried out twice (Fig. 3). These deformations are realized by additional, connecting elements 15 formed as ropes, 16, the corresponding forces exert on the support elements 3.
