Abstract

The safety catch (10) has an L-shaped cross section and is laid flat over the upper edge of the inner door to extend over the gap between the two doors. The vertical flange of the is trimmed to a small width apart from an outer tag (160 to catch the outer door and an inner tag (15) to locate against the inside edge of the inner door. The catch swivels about a vertical axis (12) near the outer edge of the door. The safety catch guides the outer door into the correct closing position without jamming the two doors. The catch is sufficiently slim to fit into the space between the door and the frame and presents a slim fitting without disturbing the shape of the door.
