Definitions
- the invention relates to a circuit breaker, in particular Circuit breaker or motor protection switch, with housing and a rotatable on the housing and against switching on lockable with at least one padlock Operating handle, according to the preamble of claim 1, such as. known from US-A-5 468 925.
- Such circuit breakers are used, for example, as safety switches used on machines and are for example arranged in the power supply to drive motors. In the event of of maintenance and repair work is therefore the executing Fitter enables the power supply for the Duration of work on the machine using the safety switch to interrupt and this safety switch to Example using a locking device with padlocks secure against switching on.
- a known embodiment of such a circuit breaker uses one Operating handle, which is cup-shaped in a cylinder guide of the housing is arranged, one or several holes in the cylinder wall and the wall of the cup-shaped Operating handle are arranged in the off position of the circuit breaker correspond with each other and allow a padlock to be inserted so that the circuit breaker can be locked in this off position.
- From US-PS 5302 925 is a trained as a circuit breaker Circuit breaker known by means of a a pawl arranged pawl an actuation a locking device against switching on only then allowed when the operating handle is in its off position and the contacts of the circuit breaker are not welded together. This takes advantage of that with welded contacts of the circuit breaker Return torque from the strong springs inside the switchgear is exercised on the operating handle and this does not return to its off position.
- a disadvantage of this Circuit breaker is that the mechanism used with cams, Cam disc and pawl controlled via it on the one hand is complicated to manufacture and therefore at high costs the circuit breaker leads to the manufacture is easy to manipulate, for example when the operating handle brought into its correct off position by force and here is held and then inadmissibly the locking device is actuated against switching on.
- GB-PS 1 528 692 describes a cover for locking a circuit breaker, for example with a rotary handle can be equipped.
- This lid is called loose Item placed on the actuating handle to be locked.
- the other is with welded Contacts of the circuit breaker completing the through the Welding slightly inclined or inclinable Operating handle with the lid possible, since after putting on the lid is forced to the off position and a subsequent locking with padlocks is possible.
- the object of the invention is therefore the known circuit breakers to further develop that a locking or manipulation for the purpose of locking the circuit breaker at welded contacts is reliably prevented, so that a safe, safe work on the with the circuit breaker secured machine is possible.
- the housing of the circuit breaker it is proposed on the housing of the circuit breaker to attach a hinged lid, the one has sufficient size to cover the operating handle and used to lock using the padlocks becomes.
- the lid has a recess for immersion of the operating handle, the recess according to the position of the operating handle in its Off position when the contacts of the circuit breaker are fully open is aligned, i.e. Operating handle in position "Off" and contacts not welded, and the operating handle only in its off position in the recess of the lid is immersible and the lid only when fully opened Circuit breaker when the operating handle is in its off position is in the closed position for locking is movable by means of the padlocks.
- the operating handle jumps, when it is turned to its off position, from its off position due to the arranged inside the switching device strong springs always by a certain amount (angle) in Back towards the on position, this angle usually with one-sided welding of a bridge contact about 5 to 10 ° and when welding on both sides one Bridge contact is about 15 to 25 °. Based on these Tilting 5 to 10 ° opposite the operating handle the off position when the contacts of the circuit breaker are not welded, i.e.
- open circuit breaker corresponds to recess formed in the lid for the operating handle no longer with that of the control handle as a result of the welded Contacts assumed position and the lid leaves do not move into its closed position to lock transfer the padlocks as part of the operating handle collide with the edges of the recess, so that the operating handle does not dip into the recess can, but the lid in a partially open position holds on.
- welding Contacts circuit breaker still closed prevents it from being locked by means of the padlocks could be.
- the lid can, if the contacts of the circuit breaker are not welded, completely on the operating handle in its closed position move, because the operating handle in the correspondingly arranged Recess can and can by means of Padlocks to be locked. In this location covers the lid as a result of its corresponding to the operating handle selected size completely and prevents one Switching on the circuit breaker which has been locked according to the invention, since this is no longer accessible from the outside.
- the lid has a slot for inserting the Flange in the closed position of the lid, so that the Push-through openings for the padlocks are located above of the lid are in the closed position. So the lid can only be locked with padlocks if - As just explained - the circuit breaker fully opened and as a result, the operating handle in the recess engages in the lid so that it is in the closed position is movable.
- the Invention also before, the lid on its the operating handle to form the facing side with protruding bulkheads, the actuating handle on all sides in the closed position isolate from the environment.
- one Manipulation of the protection switch according to the invention prevents that is usually not possible during the movement of the lid towards its closed position the slanted operating handle due to welded contacts for example using a screwdriver in to bring and hold its correct position and so the lid but to be able to move into its closed position, as such Object of manipulation prematurely with the bulkheads of the lid collides and closing the lid is impossible is.
- the partition walls of the cover advantageously point to this such a length that it is in the closed position of the lid sit at least in some areas on the front of the housing.
- the operating handle is not accessible from the outside as it is from the lid and is surrounded by the bulkheads.
- At least one molded web is advantageous on the flange formed, which rests on the housing and at least one Screws the housing covers. That way prevents that when the circuit breaker is closed Housing can not be opened without destruction and the switched off contacts are bridged.
- the Invention before, at least on the flange facing to form a locking lip at the upper edge of the actuating handle, protruding over the top of the operating handle, and further on the cover on the flange facing Boundary edge of the recess a protruding Form locking edge.
- the locking lip is wedge-shaped towards the outer edge of the operating handle rising over the top of the operating handle is formed above.
- the invention enables the manufacturing costs of an invention lockable trained circuit breaker or To keep motor protection switch low, since the invention Locking device for those manufactured in large series Circuit breakers or motor protection switches only in the 2-3% of desired cases of total production additionally on Switches need to be attached without changes to have to make within the switch.
- the circuit breaker 1 is in a housing 6 housed.
- a protruding cylindrical guide stub 10 formed, the with a molded flange 10a on the housing 6 on the Front 6a sits on.
- the Guide connector 10 is the Operating handle 3 with its molded cup-shaped guide element 3a inserted and rotatable about the axis of rotation X, see Fig. 2, is performed.
- the cup-shaped guide element 3a also sits at the top of the cylindrical guide socket 10 on, for example with a slightly flared to the outside Edge.
- the actuating handle 3 is in a screw 31 unspecified manner with a switching shaft in Inside the circuit breaker 1 in operative connection, the Switching state via a window 30 in the bottom area of the molded guide part 3a and below on the housing existing markings can be read.
- Such one Structure of a circuit breaker 1 is common. It is also possible to the guide socket 10 with the operating handle 3 180 ° compared to the position shown on the front to arrange the housing 6.
- circuit breaker 1 To operate such a circuit breaker, for example in cooperation with a machine, he must with a device be provided, which allows the circuit breaker 1 when switched off, i.e. with flawless open contacts to be able to lock.
- This is the in the circuit breaker 1 shown in the figures with the cover 2 equipped on a receptacle 5 with 50 screws the front plate 6a of the housing 6 is fixed, pivotable is stored.
- the receptacle 5, see Fig. 3 has a pivot axis 52, around which the cover 2 is pivotally mounted.
- Lid 2 is supported by a return spring 51 on the Pivot axis 52 of the receptacle 5 is attached and on one side the receptacle 5 and on the other side engages the cover 2, held in the open position, see Fig. 1.
- the Lid 2 is of such a size that it is over the operating handle 3 including the molded cup-shaped Guide element 3a pivoted for the purpose of closing can and completely covers this in this position and in this position the circuit breaker should then counter Switch on to be lockable.
- To complete the open Circuit breaker 1 is also on the recording with Pivot axis 52 opposite side of the operating handle 3 a projecting flange 4 by means of a screw 43 attached to the housing 6.
- the flange 4 is small Distance arranged next to the cylindrical guide stub 10 and stands in the same direction as the operating handle over the housing surface.
- the flange 4 is an angle executed with an angled from the projecting flange outgoing lying on the front 6a of the housing Cover web 44, on which it is also screwed to the housing becomes.
- the flange 4 has three side by side in its upper region arranged holes 41 for pushing through one Padlock on.
- the lid 2 has in its front, so the area opposite the pivot axis a slot 24 through which the area of the flange 4 with the Bores 41 when pivoting the cover 2 into its closed position, i.e.
- the operating handle in its position covering the operating handle can be pushed through and the flange area with the bores 41 for the padlocks above the cover 2 - at closed cover - and the padlocks in the holes 41 hooked in and the cover in this position can be completed.
- the lid see Figs. 2 and 3, the operating handle locked away, i.e. no longer accessible as it is under the lid lies and is covered.
- the operating handle 3 relative to its surroundings raised, i.e. it protrudes over the cup-shaped guide element 3 and the guide connector 10 before.
- the lid 2 has a recess 22 which acts as a bulge of the cover is formed on its top, in the example shown as a groove-shaped recess. The size of this recess is sufficient so that the operating handle 3 just in this Can engage or immerse recess.
- the arrangement of the Recess 22 in the cover 2 is made so that when closing of the cover over the flange 4 of the actuating handle 3 only then can dip into the recess 22 when the operating handle in its off position, which is completely open circuit breaker corresponds, i.e.
- the recess 22 as groove-shaped recess formed parallel to Position of the operating handle 3 extends in the off position. 2 and 3 can be seen, the lid 2 is only in his closed position shown there can be brought if the Actuating handle 3 engages exactly in the recess 22 in the cover and this is only by the arrangement and format of the Recess 22 in the lid possible when the switch is complete open, i.e. the operating handle 3 is in the off position located.
- the recess is 22 only so wide that the operating handle fits straight in, however so long, i.e. continuously formed in the lid that the operating handle both in the position shown can also be picked up in a position rotated by 180 °.
- the lid 2 is on it Bottom with bulkheads opposite each other 20 and one side opposite the receptacle delimiting front bulkhead 27 facing the front edge 26 of the lid is withdrawn.
- the Bulkheads 20 and 26 are in their corner areas over corner bulkheads 21 also towards the receptacle 5 with corner bulkheads 21 delimited.
- the bulkheads 20, 21, 27 together with the intake 5 allow the operating handle 3 including cylindrical guide stub 10 in which the operating handle 3 is used to cover completely to the outside, when the cover is folded over the operating handle is. In the covered state of the actuation switch using the lid can no longer be manipulated from the outside. Of the The operating handle is then locked away, as from the views 2 and 3 can be seen.
- the slot 24 for the flange 4 is between the front edge 26 and the front bulkhead side 27 of the cover 2 is formed.
- the bulkhead 27 is when closing the lid between the gap inserted between the flange 4 and the guide stub 10.
- Fig. 2 the circuit breaker is shown in supervision in a locked and locked against being switched on Position.
- the operating handle 3 is located here in its off position, i.e. the circuit breaker is complete opened and the contacts are not welded.
- the off position of the Operating handle 3 selected that the operating handle with its longitudinal axis Y parallel to the pivot axis 52 of the recording 5 of the lid 2 is arranged.
- the lid is complete over the operating handle and the one receiving it Guide connector 10 folded, the over the guide connector 10 protruding part of the operating handle 3 in the Cover 2 formed recess 22 dips and from this is covered.
- the recess 22 is of such a size and arrangement formed on the lid that they only in the 2 and 3 shown position of the operating handle can accommodate this.
- the recess 22 as a groove-shaped bulge in the lid, the also parallel to the longitudinal axis Y of the operating handle runs, with a slightly larger width than the maximum The width of the operating handle corresponds to the design. in the closed state of the cover 2, as in FIGS. 2 and 3 visible, the bulkheads 20, 21, 27 partition together with the receptacle 5 the actuating handle with guide socket 10 on all sides, the bulkheads at least partially on the The housing surface of the housing 6 rests or is close to it reach up.
- the bulkhead 27 is between the guide stub 10 and flange 4 inserted in the gap there and the flange 4 is in the area in which the through holes 21 are through the slot 24 of the lid guided so that the holes 41 above the lid and after inserting the padlocks of the Cover 2 in the positions shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 is lockable.
- the operating handle 3 is hidden under the lid and thus no longer accessible to manipulation. In this way, switch 1 is against switching on secured.
- the turned position of the operating handle 3 in contrast its location with the circuit breaker fully open 1 has the consequence that when moving the cover 2 in Parts of the raised operating handle in the direction of its closed position 3 no longer in the recess 22 in the lid engage, but with the boundary edges 22a of the recess 22 collide.
- the lid 2 cannot move into its closed position brought, whereby the holes 41 in the flange 4 for the padlocks not on the top dec Cover 2 appear and the circuit breaker 1 is not completed can be.
- the operating handle 3 has on its top on its edge facing flange 4 and the opposite Edge each have a locking lip 32 on the top of the operating handle 3 protrude. Furthermore is on Cover 2 on the boundary edge facing the flange 4 22a of the recess 22 a protruding locking edge 25 is formed, those with the circuit breaker open and welded Contacts, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, with the locking lip 32 of the operating handle 3 in operative connection occurs. This prevents the operating handle 3 by pressing the on his Top of the lid 2 sitting in its position accordingly jumps back to a fully open circuit breaker and therefore closing the circuit breaker despite welded contacts would be possible.
- a circuit breaker 1 is created with a very simple and inexpensive, for example using the injection molding process made of thermoplastic, producible Locking device is equipped against switching on also on existing circuit breakers, Retrofitted for use as a safety switch, for example can be.
- the invention allows the circuit breaker to be closed only when contacts are fully open and offers a particularly high level of security against manipulation attempts, for example, in spite of the circuit breaker want to lock welded contacts.
- the invention described above is not on the embodiment shown in the figures limited, but can also be used for other types of Use circuit breakers.
- the lid points accordingly molded areas on the next to the Operating handle necessarily existing recesses intervene and also has a recess between these areas in which the operating handle analogous to described above can only be inserted in the off position he with a fully open circuit breaker without welded contacts and thus the desired Security against switching on with welded contacts and against manipulation.
