Abstract
Description
Bei einem bekannten Zylinderkopf der gattungsgemäßen Art (DE-C 42 22 801) ist der Kühlwasserraum durch eine Trennwand in einen oberen und einen unteren Kühlwasserraum aufgeteilt, wobei im oberen Kühlwasserraum eine Längsströmung und im unteren Kühlwasserraum eine Querströmung des Kühlwassers durch den Zylinderkopf vorgesehen werden kann, um eine besonders gute Kühlung der brennraumnahen Wände zu erreichen. Es hat sich jedoch gezeigt, daß entlang der Trennwand Totwasserzonen entstehen können, welche die Kühlung insbesondere der Auslaßkanäle und des eine Zündkerze oder eine Einspritzdüse aufnehmenden Schachtes beeinträchtigen.

Claims (5)
- Zylinderkopf einer Mehrzylinder-Brennkraftmaschine, mit einem Boden (1) und einer Decke (2), die einen Kühlwasserraum (4) begrenzen, der von Gaswechselkanälen (5,6) und pro Zylinder von einem eine Zündkerze oder eine Einspritzdüse aufnehmenden Schacht (7) durchsetzt ist und der in Längsrichtung und in seinem unteren, dem Boden (1) benachbarten Bereich in Querrichtung von Kühlwasser durchströmt ist,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß in der Strömungsrichtung der Längsströmung (L) vor den Gaswechselkanälen (5,6) jedes Zylinders eine sich vom Boden (1) in den Kühlwasserraum (4) erstreckende Schwelle (12) vorgesehen ist, die quer zur Strömungsrichtung der Längsströmung verläuft. - Zylinderkopf nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß Zuflußöffnungen (10,11) für die Querströmung (Q) jeweils zwischen benachbarten Einlaß- und Auslaßkanälen (5 bzw. 6) vorgesehen sind und daß vor jedem Schacht (7) in der Strömungsrichtung der Längsströmung (L) eine Leitvorrichtung (14) vorgesehen ist, welche die Längsströmung und zumindest das Kühlwasser der Querströmumg (Q), das durch die Zuflußöffnung (11) zwischen den Auslaßkanälen (6) zugeführt wird, um den Schacht (7) herumlenkt.
- Zylinderkopf nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Zuflußöffnung (11) zwischen benachbarten Auslaßkanälen (6) einen größeren Querschnitt hat als die Zuflußöffnung (10) zwischen benachbarten Einlaßkanälen (5).
- Zylinderkopf nach Anspruch 2 oder 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Leitvorrichtung (14) an einen Auslaßkanal (6) angeformt ist.
- Zylinderkopf nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß im Kühlwasserraum (4) oberhalb der Schwelle (12) eine den Schacht (7) umgebende, parallel zum Boden (1) verlaufende Platte (13) vorgesehen ist.
