- Doctor device for a fountain-type inking unit of a rotary printing machine, consisting of a doctor-blade carrier (11) which is formed by a profiled bar with a gutter-shaped recess and to which are fastened in an approximately roof-shaped manner, and parallel to one another, two doctor blades (30, 31) which are capable of being thrown onto an ink-applicator or engraved roller (2) and which, together with the ink-applicator roller, the gutter-shaped recess of the doctor-blade carrier and sealing means (33, 34) provided on the end faces of the latter, delimit an inking chamber (20), of conduits (21, 22, 23) for feeding ink into the inking chamber and for discharging it from the latter, and of throw-on means for pressing the doctor-blade carrier onto the ink-applicator roller, characterized in that the gutter-shaped recess is provided with a middle mid-part, preferably extending into the end regions of the said recess and forming a main chamber, and with end-face side parts which form secondary chambers and which are connected to the main chamber by means of restrictor gaps (42, 43), in that the conduit (21) feeding the ink opens into the main chamber, and in that the side parts (38, 39) are provided with the conduits (22, 23) discharging the ink and with venting bores (24, 25).
- Doctor device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the main chamber and the secondary chambers (38, 39) are separated from one another by radial intermediate walls (40, 41) of the gutter-shaped recess, the circular-arcuately curved edges of the said intermediate walls delimiting, with the engraved roller (2), the restrictor gaps (42, 43).
- Doctor device according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the intermediate walls (40, 41) are formed by rib-like elevations.
- Doctor device according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the intermediate walls (40, 41) merge into the main chamber by means of curved wall parts (44, 45).
- Doctor device according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the outer sides of the intermediate walls (40, 41) lie on radial planes.
- Doctor device according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that at least one side of each of the intermediate walls (40, 41) is provided with a plastic coating (48, 49) which projects beyond the edges of the intermediate walls and thus delimits the restrictor gaps (42, 43) on the doctor side.
- Doctor device according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the secondary chambers (38, 39) have an L-shaped cross section, as seen in a longitudinal section through the doctor-blade carrier (11).
- Doctor device according to Claim 7, characterized in that a space formed by one L-leg of the secondary chambers (38, 39) extends in each case underneath the main chamber.
- Doctor device according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the intermediate walls (50, 51) delimiting the restrictor gaps are guided in the profiled bar so as to be movable in the radial direction relative to the ink-applicator roller (2) and are connected essentially immovably, via holding means (61), to the inking-unit frame (1) carrying the doctor device, so that, when the doctor blades undergo wear, the width of the restrictor gaps remains essentially constant.
- Doctor device according to Claim 9, characterized in that the intermediate walls (50, 51) are connected to the profiled bar by means of resilient tongues or webs (52, 53).
- Doctor device according to Claim 9 or 10, characterized in that the intermediate walls (50, 51) are supported, in each case via a rod (61), on an abutment of the inking-unit frame (1).
- Doctor device according to Claim 11, characterized in that the rods (61) are led out of the profiled bar through the venting bores (24, 25).
- Doctor device according to one of Claims 9 to 12, characterized in that the abutment can be adjusted by an actuating means (62, 63).
