Definitions
- the invention relates to a safety device with at least one gas sensor arranged in a room to be monitored, which causes the supply of the fuel gas and the power supply for a complex to be supplied to be prevented when fuel gas occurs in the room, the gas sensor operation being maintained in the event of a power failure by an electrical battery .
- Such a safety device is known from DE-A1-32 08 553.
- a cable is led from the gas sensor to the gas main tap, to which a servomotor is assigned, which is supplied with electricity by an electric battery via a gas sensor contact and the cable when fuel gas occurs in the space to be monitored and thereby closes the gas main tap; at the same time the main power line is shut down.
- a servomotor is assigned, which is supplied with electricity by an electric battery via a gas sensor contact and the cable when fuel gas occurs in the space to be monitored and thereby closes the gas main tap; at the same time the main power line is shut down.
- an intrinsically safe gas detector for residential buildings is known from DE-U1-89 13 816, in which gas detection sensors are located in a room in which escaping gas is likely to accumulate first.
- the gas detection sensors are designed to be intrinsically safe, while a device part of the gas detector comprising the supply portion is not designed to be intrinsically safe and is located in a different room than the gas sensors. In the event of a power failure in the public network, a battery continues to operate the gas detector.
- a gas warning system is known from DE-A1-38 03 892, in which a number of pressure sensors, each measuring the gas pressure, the temperature and the amount of fuel gas emitted from a gas bottle, are connected to a central module which, depending on Disturbances of the measured values give an alarm acoustically or visually and which causes the gas delivery of the gas cylinders to be prevented.
- gas sensors The design of gas sensors is generally known, as can be seen, for example, from the article "Sensor Technology” by Gerhard Wiegleb, published in the Franzis Electronics Book, 1986, Chapter 5, pp. 93-111.
- the gas sensors described there can detect hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide or oxygen, among others.
- the sensors of the known safety devices only respond to hydrocarbon gases, namely natural gas, methane or propane.
- the object of the invention is to provide a safety device of the type mentioned, the function of which is expanded at the measuring point of the gas sensor. Furthermore, it should be possible to ascertain deliberate manipulation at the location of the gas sensor, for example the blockage of the air supply opening of the gas sensor housing.
- the safety device is therefore very sensitive to dangerous air compositions.
- a further embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the signals from the sensors to the means which prevent the supply of the fuel gas and the power supply are effected wirelessly, preferably by radio.
- the safety device can be installed with minimal effort, without masonry for laying cables.
- the safety device according to FIG. 1 (detector system) consists of three completely independent sensors 10. Each of these three sensors only reacts to a gas.
- the first sensor 10/1 reacts to oxygen. If the measured value falls slightly below the normal value that is present in the air (20.9%), an alarm is triggered.
- the second sensor 10/2 reacts to natural gas / propane gas.
- the third sensor 10/3 reacts to carbon monoxide. If the CO value exceeds 100 ppm, an alarm is triggered.
- the threshold values at which the alarm is triggered can be modified depending on the legal provisions for safety systems.
- the detector system described above includes sensors that according to the current state of the art are already known. One aspect of the basic idea of the invention is therefore that the three sensors are housed in a single detector system. If an alarm is triggered by one of the three sensors, the power supply or main switch 12 and the gas supply in line 14 are interrupted by a solenoid valve 16, for the entire building. The signal can be transmitted from the sensor to the main switch 12 and / or the solenoid valve 16 by cable or wirelessly, for example by radio. It is particularly advantageous to send the control signals by radio, as a result of which an additional and complex cable laying is no longer necessary. The interruption of the mains voltage causes the solenoid valve to close, so that the entire gas supply is interrupted.
- Carbon monoxide is produced in every combustion process. If such a situation occurs, an alarm is triggered and the electricity and gas supply are cut off long before a dangerous concentration of carbon monoxide can develop.
- the oxygen sensor's job is to cut off the electricity and gas supply when there is a fire has broken out or if someone wants to shut down the entire facility (suicide).
- the opening through which the ambient air enters the detector system and is led to the sensors is closed, e.g. by means of an adhesive tape, the sensor measures a lower oxygen content, which triggers the alarm and the power and gas supply are interrupted.
- This sensor only reacts to methane / propane. So if, for some reason, unburned gas flows into the room, such as a leak in a pipe or an open gas tap, an alarm is triggered and the entire electricity and gas supply is cut off. This is possible because in this case the solenoid valve is no longer connected directly to the electrical current, but to the battery of the detector.
- the solenoid valve is kept open by the battery (18) installed in the detector even in the event of a power failure (220 V) due to a defect in the power supply.
- the detectors control the solenoid valve, which cuts off the gas supply.
- the detectors can be equipped with optical and acoustic signal systems. The two different information (Optical and / or acoustic) are maintained by the electrical current of the system described. A detailed description of the individual detectors is unnecessary, since known and evaluated detectors can advantageously be used here.
- the device can be equipped with currently known and customary production techniques for sensors as well as for electro valves.
- the system also prevents fires.
- Devices with the proposed system can be equipped with a large number of detectors, one for each room in the hazardous area, which are connected to the main detector, which is the only one that fulfills the various controls with all their functions. It is a subsidiary application because their implementation requires the use of a technology already known in the field of electrical engineering.
- the housings of the devices in which the sensors and other devices are housed are generally known and their shape does not affect the principle of application.
- the outer housing can be made of metal or plastic and have the shape of a three-dimensional parallelepiped, with a suitable recess for the passage of said volatile elements and with a special arrangement of the sensors inside the housing. It is also possible to house the system in different apartments of a building with a single power source (battery or the like) which is not dependent on the normal power supply.
- FIG. 5 shows an arrangement of sensors in a housing 20 which is designed in the form of a cubic parallelepiped, but can also be designed in the form of a hemisphere and is provided with a central opening 21. Additional sensors (motion detectors) 10/1 ', 10/2', 10/2 '', 10/3 'are provided. These sensors are suspended in the middle of the housing 20 in such a way that those entering the housing 20 through the opening 21 Indoor air reaches them immediately. The sensor 10/1 detects an intentional, malicious blockage of the opening 21.

Abstract
