Definitions

  • the invention relates to a container according to Preamble of claim 1 and as known from CH-A-468 286.
  • Containers made of sheet metal which have to be closed again after the first opening, often have an insert lid.
  • Push-in lids are expensive because their manufacture requires a lot of sheet metal.
  • a ring that can be placed on the container body and secondly the lid that can be inserted into the ring must be produced.
  • a container is already known in which an aluminum foil is glued into the upper fuselage area, the part closing the fuselage opening coming to lie at a distance from the upper edge of the container fuselage. If powdery goods that contain a high proportion of air are filled into such containers, also called cans, the sealing membrane bulges upwards as soon as the containers are taken to higher areas, e.g. when hiking in the mountains, or when they are heated .
  • the object of the present invention is to create a Container made of sheet metal, the lid of which one is opening the top of the fuselage Closure membrane reduced and with which a container after the removal of the sealing membrane after the product has been removed can be closed again.
  • the container according to the invention comprises a lid and an inverted edge, one at the retracted end of the Fuselage attached under the flare so that when increasing the internal pressure or reducing the External pressure the holding force on the edge of the slip attached nose on the rolled edge increases and that on the Forces acting on the lid base of the sealing membrane supports.
  • the lid according to the invention ensures that one at the top of the flare glued / sealed membrane held securely and one unwanted detachment is prevented.
  • By moving in, also called necking it is the upper edge of the fuselage possible to use a lid whose Outside diameter the outside diameter of the rolled edge on Bottom of the container corresponds. This allows such Cans in stores where the replenishment of the Back of the sales racks is done in the racks curl up.
  • the containers according to the invention behave consequently, similar to the conventional sheet metal container rolled-up base and lid made of sheet metal.
  • the Production of the can according to the invention is inexpensive and their disposal completely unproblematic, since the Plastic lid and mostly made of aluminum or a composite membrane made of metal Container body can be removed without tools and thus after Materials can be disposed of separately.
  • the container 1 shown in Figure 1 comprises a body 3, which is cylindrical in the example shown; but it can also have a different geometry without further ado.
  • a floor 5 is rolled up in a conventional manner.
  • a slip lid 7 made of plastic is placed on the upper edge 9 of the fuselage 3.
  • the design of the cover 7 and the upper edge 9 of the fuselage 3 is explained in more detail with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.
  • the fuselage 3 is shown shortened in the axial direction.
  • the upper edge 9 of the fuselage 3 is conical, ie the fuselage 3 is drawn in or necked in this area. The retraction allows the flange 11 attached to the upper edge 9 of the fuselage 3 to be arranged within the diameter D 2 .
  • the outer diameter D 1 of the flange 11 is consequently smaller than D 2 .
  • a membrane 13 made of aluminum foil or of a composite material is fastened on the flange 11 by a heat seal 15.
  • the membrane 13 serves to make the first opening of the container 1 visible. Furthermore, a gas-tight seal can be achieved with the membrane 13, which prevents the access of moisture to the filling material.
  • the membrane 13 is held on the flange 11 predominantly by the beads pressed out laterally of the apex S during heat sealing.
  • a corresponding coating 17 on the inside of the membrane 13 serves as the sealing material, which also forms the corrosion protection.
  • the coating of the rolling flange 11 or the fuselage 3 must be selected such that a connection to the coating 17 is possible.
  • connection should be peelable, ie the membrane 13 can be lifted off the rolled edge or rolled flange 11 by means of a tab, not shown.
  • the membrane 13 must be able to withstand a certain internal pressure p 1 .
  • This overpressure p 1 compared to the ambient pressure p 0 outside the container 1 can have various causes: A can filled at a low altitude above sea level, the contents of which contain a great deal of air, shows a respectable overpressure compared to that when it is brought into higher areas Atmospheric pressure. This overpressure must not lift the membrane 13 from the rolled edge 9. The seal 15 largely takes this into account.
  • the cover 7 shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 protects the membrane 13 against deformation and in the worst case also against damage due to excess pressure or external mechanical influences and thus prevents the contents from being exposed.
  • the cover 7 is designed as a slip cover and comprises a slip edge 19, the outside diameter D 3 of which is preferably the same as the outside diameter of the lower rolled edge 21, which connects the bottom 5 to the fuselage 3.
  • the lip edge diameter corresponds to the diameter of the fuselage 3.
  • the radial thickness (s) of the lip lip 19 is greater in relation to the thickness (d) of the lid base 23 in order to stiffen the edge region of the lid 7.
  • a nose 25 is formed on the inside of the lip 19, which engages under the roller flange 11.
  • the conical lateral surface 27, which connects the front end of the nose 25 and the lower edge 29 of the lip 19, is preferably at a distance x from the approximately conical upper end 9 of the fuselage 3.
  • a circumferential rib 31 can be formed on the lid base 23, which serves to center another can placed on the lid 7.
  • the nose 25 is preferably designed as a circumferential rib; it could also be made up of a large number of individual sections.
  • the membrane 13 is applied to the edge 9 of the container 1 by heat sealing in a manner known per se. After the sealing, during which the membrane 13 is held taut, the latter lies, as shown in FIG. 2, slightly convex against the inside of the can and not exactly in the plane of the edge 9.
  • the nose 25 engages under the rolled edge 11 and thus holds the lid 7 on the container 1.
  • the membrane 13 rises and comes into contact with the underside of the lid base 23 of the lid 7 This now supports the membrane 13 against further bulging. Due to the axially upward force acting on the lid base 23, the nose 25 engages deeper and deeper under the rolled edge 11. As a result, the lid 7 is held more firmly. Thanks to the stiff design of the lip 19, the deformation of the cover 7 remains low even with increased internal pressure p 1 .
  • the lid base 23 is designed to be axially cambered in the direction of the container 1 and, at normal pressure p 0 , lies against the membrane 13, which is also curved inwards, in the filling space of the container 1. Even a slight increase in the internal pressure causes the membrane 13 to be supported on the cover 23. This allows the strength and / or thickness of the membrane to be reduced without having to accept disadvantages with regard to fracture resistance.
  • These properties of the cover 7 are of course not only present when a membrane 13 hermetically seals the inside of the container 1, but also after the first opening. This takes place by lifting off the cover 7, in which the lower edge 29 is gripped, lifted off and then the membrane 13 is peeled off from the flange 11 with the corresponding tab. After the filling material has been removed, the lid 7 can be placed on the flange 11 and pressed onto it axially. He then essentially hermetically seals the container 1 again.
