- the present invention relates to an arrangement with an intake air device comprising a partially perforated cylinder casing which at one end can be connected to an intake air duct and which comprises at the other end an endpiece and which along substantially its entire length has a section which covers part of the periphery of the casing and is adapted to prevent the through-flow of air and of which the position can be adjusted about the cylinder axis.
- Such an intake air device was previously disclosed by EP 269 923 A2 and comprises a shield which is disposed on the cylinder casing and which is rotatably mounted so that it can move around the casing, about the centre axis thereof.
- the shield is consequently fully visible, which can be advantageous if the installed position thereof has to be checked but, at the same time, this places high demands on fitting and surface finishing in order that the aesthetic appearance of the intake air device is not impaired.
- the ability of the shield to rotate about the cylinder casing also necessitates precision manufacturing - the shield must be easy to adjust and has an unnecessarily complicated construction.
- the object of the present invention is to provide an intake air device of the initially mentioned type which does not involve the above disadvantages.
- This object is achieved in that the section is rigid relative to the cylinder casing, and in that the latter is in turn rotatable about said axis.
- the above-mentioned section is a shield which is rigidly disposed inside the cylinder casing and near the inner surface thereof such that it fits against the latter, although the section can also, alternatively, be an unperforated portion of the cylinder casing, as depicted by special features of the invention.

- the intake air device provides the desired intake air configuration in a simple manner. It will be appreciated that the intake air device requires some form of marking to indicate the position of the section, which applies in particular to the example according to Figure 2b.
