Description

The present invention relates to a laminated assembly which consists, on the one hand, of a knitted warp or weft fabric, which comprises knitted loose loops and, on the other hand, by a support, for example a flexible, reinforcing support on which knitted fabric is glued.

De telles parties femelles sont connues par exemple par le document FR-A-2.632.830 .The invention applies in particular to such an assembly which is used for making the female part of a so-called hook-and-loop closure, the loops of which are intended to cooperate, in a separable fastening connection, with elements complementary males, for example hooks, filiform elements with bulging heads or the like, etc. Such female parts are known for example from the document FR-A-2632830 .

For reasons of cost, it is necessary to manufacture a knitted fabric whose bottom or base is light and very open, and therefore of a mechanically fragile and dimensionally unstable structure, without sacrificing the quality of the loops that constitute the primordial active element of the female part of the hook-and-loop closure. This fragility and this instability of the bottom of the fabric induce difficulties of implementation, that is to say of use, of this fabric because of the relatively high tearing stresses to which the bottom is subjected and which come from the action of the male fastening elements on the loops.

It is therefore necessary to strengthen the fabric by laminating it by its bottom on a more resistant support, for example flexible. This support may be an intermediate support, the laminated assembly is then attached to an article, or it may be the article itself.

However, there are difficulties in the manufacture of such a laminated assembly, because the loops tend to stick to the support also through the bottom, together with the chain son (also called mesh columns), the weft threads (also called stitch rows) and the feet of the loops, which destroys their self-gripping power because their top is firmly pressed against the support and therefore can not cooperate, in the desired fastening link, with the male elements.

Ce document décrit un ensemble stratifié selon le préambule de la revendication 1.Sets of this kind are known, for example from US-A-4,624,116 . This document describes a laminated assembly according to the preamble of claim 1.

The object of the invention is to remedy this drawback and, for this purpose, according to a first aspect, it aims at a laminated assembly according to claim 1.

Thus, in the laminated assembly according to the invention, each loop has at least one strand which, at a distance from its associated foot, is supported by at least one other warp and / or weft thread so that, in this area of overlap, the loop does not adhere to the support, which retains its capacity or self-gripping properties.

It is the same for the two strands of each loop and, again, for the top of each loop which is located in the vicinity of the common foot of two other loops, thus overlapping the latter and the two strands of loops starting from this one. this.

According to an advantageous characteristic, the loops are oblique with respect to the general direction of the warp and / or weft threads.

For example, the feet of the same loop may be located on the same chain, or on the contrary on different chain son, for example adjacent.

For example still, the feet of the same loop are on weft son that are adjacent or not.

According to a second aspect, the invention is directed to a method for manufacturing the above laminated assembly, which is characterized in that it comprises, as specified in claim 8: knitting said fabric so that its loops have said size relative to the pitch of the warp and / or weft threads and with respect to the foot of another loop; applying an adhesive to said support; and bringing said fabric and said support into contact with a view to their joining by gluing.

  • Fig. 1 est une vue schématique en plan montrant un mode de tricotage préféré pour la confection du tissu de l'ensemble selon l'invention ;
The invention will be clearly understood on reading the additional description which will follow and with reference to the appended drawing which forms part of the description and in which:
  • Fig. 1 is a schematic plan view showing a preferred knitting mode for making the fabric of the assembly according to the invention;
  • Fig. 2 is an exploded schematic cross-section of the assembly according to the invention comprising the fabric of the Fig. 1 ; and
  • Fig. 3 shows schematically an example of a device for carrying out laminating, in the final phase of the method according to the invention.

We schematically represented in plan on the Fig. 1 a knitted fabric 1 with loops constituting one of the two elements of the laminated assembly according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.

The knitted fabric 1 is of the warp knitting or weft knitting type, and it comprises, on the one hand, parallel warp yarns 2 (also called mesh stitches) interwoven with weft threads 3 (also called stitch rows), also parallel, and, secondly, knitted loops 4, each of the two feet 5, located at the intersection of two warp and weft son, cooperates with the warp and weft son. The two strands 6 of each loop 4 start from the feet 5 and meet, at a distance from them, to form the top 7 of the loop. The warp 2 and weft 3 threads form a structure knitted very light, very open, mechanically very fragile and dimensionally unstable, as indicated above.

According to the invention, the loops 4 are of such a size, with respect to the pitch of the warp threads 2 and / or the weft threads 3, that, considering the loops flat against the warp 2 and weft threads 3 at least one of the two strands 6 of each loop intersects or overlaps at least one catenary and / or weft thread, at a distance from the foot 5 associated with this strand.

In the embodiment shown on the Fig. 1 the loops 4 are directed obliquely with respect to the general direction of the warp threads and the weft threads, and the two feet 5 of the same loop 4 are situated, on the one hand, on the same warp thread 2 and on the other hand, on two adjacent weft threads 3. However, different arrangements could be adopted as to the orientation of the loops 4 and / or the implantation of the feet 5; for example, the legs of the same loop 4 could be located on different chainstays son, for example adjacent, and non-adjacent weft son 3.

In the preferred embodiment shown in the Fig. 1 , one of the strands 6, from the associated foot 5, passes on one of the strands 6 of the next loop 4, then on the chain 2 next to the one that carries the feet 5 of his loop, and he joins the vertex 7 which overlaps the laterally adjacent loops 4, at a very short distance from the common foot 5 thereof; the other strand 6, from the vertex 7, overlaps the same warp thread 2 as the first strand 6 of this same loop, it passes under one of the strands 6 of the previous loop 4, and it joins the second foot 5. Thus, a loop 4 overlaps twice the same warp thread 2 by its strands 6, and its top 7 overlaps the two laterally adjacent loops, in the immediate vicinity of their common foot 5. In addition, as shown in FIG. Fig. 2 the loops 4 move away from the plane formed by the warp threads 2 and the weft threads 3 from their feet 5.

We have schematically represented on the Fig. 2 , in cross-section and exploded, a laminated assembly according to the invention. The fabric 1, which has a low dimensional stability and a low mechanical strength, is intended to be laminated on a support 8 of reinforcement, of any suitable nature, for example plastic. This support can be flexible, rigid or semi-rigid and, as indicated above, it can be either an intermediate support intended to be subsequently fixed on an article, or this article itself. For laminating, for example, is deposited on one of the faces of the support 8 a film of adhesive 9 intended to cooperate essentially with the son of chain 2, the weft son 3 and the part of the feet 5 loops which is located on the side of the underside or back of the fabric 1.

During lamination, which is generally carried out under mechanical pressure as indicated below, the fabric 1 is as a whole pressed against the support 8, with the interposition of the adhesive 9, and, during this operation, the warp yarns , the weft threads and the bottom of the feet 5 cooperate closely with the adhesive 9, while the strands 6 of the loops are only partially glued on the support 8 and that, in any case, the vertices 7 of the loops are preserved by a bonding because they are each protected by a foot 5. To promote gluing, the loops 4 may have, at their feet 5 and the side of the support 8, small counter-loops 14 intended to cooperate with the adhesive 9 to increase the contact area between the fabric 1 and the support 8. This also strengthens the fixing of the loop legs 5 on the son 2, 3 and the support 8 and, therefore, also the structure of the loops.

Thus, although the loops 4 are partially and locally bonded to the support 8, their tops 7 remain unobstructed and, in operation, they can cooperate freely with the male complementary elements of attachment, which keeps the loops 4 all their auto properties -agrippantes. Moreover, during the first separation of the two elements constituting the separable closure, the loops 4 are pulled by the male fastening elements, which causes, by peeling effect, the separation of the strands 6, locally bonded to the support 8, with this one.

We have schematically represented on the Fig. 3 an example of a device for carrying out the laminating, in order to obtain the above laminated assembly, in the final phase of the process according to the invention, after the fabric 1 has been knitted.

This exemplary device is usable in the case of a support 8 which is flexible and which is an intermediate strip or sheet, the laminated assembly then being fixed on an article by any appropriate means.

This device comprises two driven pressure rollers 10 and 11 which assemble the fabric 1 and the flexible support 8. The fabric 1 is brought first to pass over the roll 10, which then receives, on top of the fabric 1, the support 8. Upstream of the roll 10, the support 8 passes under a device 12 for applying or removing the adhesive 9 on the face of the support 8 which is turned towards the fabric 1. Of course, the loops 4 are located on the face of the fabric 1 which is remote from the support 8, that is to say opposite to it. The fabric 1 and the support 8, superimposed on the roll 10, then pass together in the clamping zone between the two rollers to obtain the bonding, and the laminated assembly 13 is extracted by any appropriate means, for example by means of call rollers.

If the laminated assembly according to the invention is intended to be glued to another support by the face 15 of the support 8 opposite that which receives the fabric 1, this bonding face 15 may be coated with a permanent adhesive and, for allow the laminated assembly to wind on itself in reel before this bonding, or this adhesive receives a temporary protective film, or the loops 4 undergo, for example by coating, a treatment antiadhesion.

Claims (7)

  1. A laminated assembly comprising a warp or weft knitted fabric (1) with loops (4), and a support (8) wherein the weft or warp knitted loop fabric comprises a light, very open, mechanically fragile and dimensionally unstable interlacing of warp threads, or wales (2), and weft threads, or courses (3) and knitted free loops of which the feet (5) cooperate with warp and weft threads, while the rest of each loop, formed by two strands (6) originating from the feet and an apex (7) connecting the two strands, is free, characterised in that at least one of the two strands bears on at least one warp thread (2) and/or weft thread (3), at a distance from the foot (5) associated with said strand (6), each loop being of such a dimension relative to the pitch of the warp or weft threads (2) so that its apex (7) be able to straddle the foot (5) of another loop and the interlacing is stuck on the support (8) by an adhesive.
  2. An assembly according to claim 1, characterised in that in plan view the loops (4) are oblique with respect to the general direction of the warp and weft threads.
  3. An assembly according to claims 1 or 2, characterised in that the feet (5) of one and the same loop (4) are on one and the same warp thread (2).
  4. An assembly according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the feet (5) of one and the same loop (4) are on different warp threads (2), for example adjacent warp threads.
  5. An assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the feet (5) of one and the same loop (4) are on adjacent weft threads (3).
  6. An assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the feet (5) of one and the same loop (4) are on non-adjacent weft threads (3).
  7. A method of producing the laminated assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that it consists in knitting the said fabric (1) so that its loops (4) have the said dimension with respect to the pitch of the warp threads (2) and/or weft threads (3) and with respect to the foot of another loop (4); applying an adhesive (9) to the said support (8); and bringing the said fabric and the said support (8) into contact in order to connect them by sticking.
