Since, however, the effective pressure-receiving area of the pilot valve portion 48 is much smaller than that of the high-pressure valve portion 36, the pilot valve portion 48 can be opened with a small driving force, and accordingly, the calorific value of the electromagnetic solenoid 50 is very low.

  • the diameter of the pressurising chamber 53 is bigger than that of the high-pressure valve portion 36 and has a bigger effective pressure-receiving area, as the pressure in the pressurising chamber 53 increases, the force acting on the operating rod 35 in opening direction of the high-pressure valve portion 36 becomes greater than the force in closing direction.
  • the low-pressure valve portion 41 fully closes and the high-pressure valve portion 36 enters the fully-opened state.
  • the pressure Pc in the crank case 12 becomes a high pressure equal to the pressure Pd in the discharge chamber 21.
  • the inclination angle of the rocking plate 14 further becomes smaller, and the capacity of the variable-capacity compressor 10 becomes minimal.
  • the inclination angle of the rocking plate 14 becomes zero, the rocking member is adjusted pneumatically) to the shaft, and the capacity of the variable-capacity compressor 10 becomes zero.
  • the pressure in the pressurising chamber 53 then is maintained at a pressure between Pd and Ps by taking a balance between the refrigerant at high pressure Pd flowing from the pilot valve portion 48 and the refrigerant flowing from the leakage hole 54 into the low-pressure communicating path 43 at low pressure (Ps).
  • the capacity of the compressor 10 cannot only be changed from a maximum to a minimum, but it is possible to stop the operating rod 35 in any intermediate position in which both the high-pressure valve portion 36 and the low-pressure valve portion 41 are opened as shown in figure 3. This is done by adjusting the amount of current for the electromagnetic coil 50a of the electromagnetic solenoid 50. Since the rocking plate 14 inclines at an angle adapted thereto, the capacity discharge amount of the variable capacity compressor 10 can be controlled arbitrarily. It is recommendable to match the magnitude of the current for the electromagnetic coil 50a and the capacity of the variable-capacity compressor 10 in order to achieve a linear change.
  • the high-pressure valve portion can be opened or closed with a desirable small solenoid force, because the high-pressure valve portion is opened or closed with assistance of the pressure acting in the pressurising chamber on the operating member having a bigger effective pressure-receiving area than the high-pressure valve portion.
  • the pilot valve portion has an effective pressure-receiving area that is smaller than that of the high-pressure valve portion for opening or closing the communicating path between the crank case and the discharge chamber at high pressure. Therefore, the electromagnetic solenoid for driving the valve requires only a weak current. This greatly suppresses heat generation in the electromagnetic coil and prevents defects resulting from heat generation.

Claims (12)

  1. Dispositif de réglage de la capacité (30) d'un compresseur à capacité variable (10), ledit compresseur comportant un élément basculant (14) à angle d'inclinaison variable pouvant être modifié par rapport à un arbre rotatif (11) dans un carter étanche à l'air (12), l'élément basculant (14) étant entraíné par un mouvement rotatif dudit arbre rotatif dans un mouvement basculant, et un piston (17) connecté au dit élément basculant (14), afin de délivrer un fluide frigorifique à l'intérieur d'une chambre de décharge (21) après aspiration du fluide frigorifique depuis une chambre d'aspiration (20) à l'intérieur d'un cylindre (15) pour y être comprimé par mouvement alternatif, ledit dispositif réglant la capacité dudit compresseur à capacité variable dans lequel l'angle d'inclinaison dudit élément basculant est modifié par la différence existant entre une pression dans ledit carter et une pression dans ladite chambre d'aspiration afin de modifier la quantité de décharge de fluide frigorifique,
    caractérisé par
    une partie de clapet haute pression (36) destinée à ouvrir ou à fermer la communication entre ladite chambre de décharge (21) et ledit carter (12) ;
    une partie de clapet basse pression (41) destinée à ouvrir ou à fermer la communication entre ladite chambre d'aspiration (20) et ledit carter (12) ;
    une élément de commande de clapet (35) destiné à l'ouverture ou à la fermeture de manière à inverser la relation d'ouverture / fermeture entre ladite partie de clapet haute pression (36) et ladite partie de clapet basse pression (41) par avancement ou par retrait ;
    une chambre de mise en pression (53) destinée à appliquer une pression sur ledit élément de commande de clapet (35) dans une direction qui ouvre ladite partie de clapet haute pression au moyen d'une surface effective de réception de pression plus importante qu'une surface effective de réception de pression de ladite partie de clapet haute pression ;
    et une partie de clapet pilote (48) comportant une surface effective de réception de pression plus étroite que ladite surface effective de réception de pression de ladite partie de clapet haute pression (36) destinée à être commandée par un solénoïde électromagnétique (50) pour ouvrir ou fermer un passage de communication entre ladite chambre de décharge (21) et ladite chambre de mise en pression (53).
  2. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce qu'une partie d'extrémité de l'élément de commande (35) définit un élément de piston de grande dimension (44) situé en engagement coulissant dans ladite chambre de mise en pression (53).
  3. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que l'élément de piston de grande dimension (44) est une partie d'un élément mobile de clapet de la partie de clapet basse pression (41).
  4. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon au moins l'une des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce que l'élément de commande (35) est une tige de commande creuse recevant une tige d'entraínement mobile longitudinalement (49), une extrémité de la tige d'entraínement (49) peut être actionnée de manière positive par un noyau mobile (50b) du solénoïde (50), l'autre extrémité de la tige d'entraínement étant adaptée pour s'engager sur un élément de fermeture de la partie de clapet pilote (48).
  5. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon au moins l'une des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisé en ce que la partie de clapet pilote (48) est située à l'intérieur de l'élément de commande (35), de préférence soit à l'intérieur d'une partie de l'élément de commande (35) définissant un élément mobile de clapet de la partie de clapet haute pression (36), soit à l'intérieur d'une partie de l'élément de commande (35) faisant partie d'un élément mobile de clapet de la partie de clapet basse pression (41).
  6. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon la revendication 4, caractérisé en ce que la surface de pression de la partie de clapet pilote (48) est définie par la surface d'étanchéité entre ledit élément de fermeture et une ouverture de siège de clapet de la partie de clapet pilote (48), ladite ouverture de siège de clapet étant de préférence un prolongement d'un trou traversant de l'élément de commande (35).
  7. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon la revendication 4, caractérisé en ce que la tige d'entraínement (49) comporte un jeu à l'intérieur du trou traversant de l'élément de commande (35) et définit un passage de communication longitudinal entre ladite partie de clapet pilote (48) et ladite chambre de mise en pression (53).
  8. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ladite partie de clapet pilote (48) est un clapet à bille et à ressort (47).
  9. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon au moins l'une des revendications 1 à 8, caractérisé en ce qu'un trou de fuite (54) est aménagé dans l'élément de commande (35) afin d'établir une connexion de débit entre ladite chambre de mise en pression (53) et, soit un passage de communication basse pression, soit un passage de débit de mise en pression (38).
  10. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon les revendications 6 et 9, caractérisé en ce que le trou de fuite (54) a une dimension plus petite que ladite ouverture de siège de clapet de ladite partie de clapet pilote (48).
  11. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon les revendications 6, 9 et 10, caractérisé en ce que le trou de fuite (54) est situé dans la paroi de l'élément de commande (35) à proximité de la partie de clapet haute pression (36).
  12. Dispositif de réglage de capacité selon les revendications 6, 9 et 10, caractérisé en ce que le trou de fuite (54) est situé dans la paroi d'un carter tubulaire statique (52) renfermant la chambre de mise en pression (53).
