Definitions

  • the invention relates to a timepiece comprising a rotating bezel, on which are example recorded indications relating to time.
  • a room timepiece of the wristwatch type including a box having a middle, a bottom, a glass fixedly mounted on the middle, and a rotating bezel of the type above, guided in rotation relative to the glass and the middle.
  • Wristwatches with such a bezel are generally intended to be used for diving underwater and allow the indication of an elapsed time or remaining to flow.
  • the telescope cooperates with means which are mounted on the glass and / or on the middle and which allow a rotary movement unidirectional bezel, as well as maintaining this in angular positions predetermined by compared to the watch face.
  • the latching means include a steel ratchet spring which cooperates with a teeth on the bezel.
  • the latter is held axially on the middle by means of a spring steel wire penetrating both into a first groove formed in a cylindrical seat of the middle part and in a second groove in the bezel arranged opposite the first.
  • the middle part also has two shoulders arranged on either side of the second groove, each shoulders cooperating with a corresponding shoulder of glasses. To seal the system two seals are interposed between the shoulders respectively of the middle and of the glasses.
  • the centering of the telescope is made with respect to the middle with the wire spring arranged in the housing formed by the first and second gorge.
  • this spring is mounted with a certain radial clearance with respect to the middle part. This radial clearance allows continuously rotating the center geometric bezel around the center of the middle, which leads to imprecise handling and gives the watch which is equipped with a quality impression average.
  • the main aim of the invention is therefore to remedy to the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art in providing a timepiece comprising a bezel rotating associated with latching means and retaining means on the box and comprising a structure mounting the bezel on the middle which allows a effective centering of the bezel in relation to the middle and ice and which gives the glasses a couple substantially constant rotation resistance, while being simple and economical to realize by techniques of classic manufacture in the field.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a timepiece comprising a rotating bezel including the mechanism is protected against solid impurities and which can thus be used in any type environment without the proper functioning of the bezel is affected.
  • the invention relates to a part timepiece comprising a case having a middle, a back, a glass fixedly mounted on the middle, a rotating bezel guided in rotation relative to the glass and middle part, means for retaining said bezel on the middle, and a latching mechanism associated with the bezel comprising a ratchet spring cooperating with a toothing formed in the bezel, characterized in that a seal is arranged above the latching mechanism and compressed between the bezel and glass, said trim ensuring both a centering of the telescope with respect to the glass and a retained by friction against rotation of the telescope.
  • the arrangement of the gasket directly compressed between the telescope and the glass provides a couple resistant to rotation of the telescope constant, which if necessary can compensate for the flexibility of the pawl spring in case the pawls do not provide sufficient restraint for the telescope in its direction of rotation allowed.
  • this provision particular trim allows to center the bezel compared to ice and so to have a very play weak between these two elements, thereby improving the resistance to the penetration of impurities on the one hand and the aesthetic appearance of the timepiece on the other hand.
  • the middle part comprises in its upper part a cuff and the retaining means include a split plastic ring, arranged in a first housing partially formed in the telescope and in the outer surface of said cuff when the bezel is in place on the middle.
  • the axial retention of the bezel on the cuff can thus be made so easy and economical using a simple split ring.
  • the cuff includes in its upper outer part a frustoconical surface which is extended by a part cylindrical in which is formed an annular groove radial, forming part of the first housing, in its middle part and by a shoulder in its part lower.
  • the placement of the telescope on the cuff and its axial retention can be simply made by placing the split ring in the groove of the bezel then by forcing the bezel on the cuff, the split ring moving apart over the conical surface. It should be noted in this connection that disassembly of the telescope can be easily achieved by breaking the split ring.
  • timepiece according to the invention designated by the general reference 1.
  • Timepiece 1 includes a case 2 comprising a middle part 4, a base 6 and a crystal 8, and in which is housed a movement 10 surmounted by a dial 12.
  • the middle part 4 and the bottom 6 are made in a single metal piece.
  • fixing horns 14 intended to allow the connection of the part of watchmaking with a bracelet, not shown.
  • the glass 8 is made of material plastic and is fixed directly, by its part lower peripheral, on a flange 16 in material synthetic of movement 10, by welding or gluing.
  • the flange 16 is also pinched between spans 18 and 20 respectively of the middle part 4 and of a cuff 22 fixed to the notch, by its a lower lip 24, on a shoulder of the middle.
  • a lining 26 is interposed between rim 16 and span 18 to ensure the tightness of the box vis-à-vis the outside.
  • the lens 8 is thus fixed relative to the middle part 4.
  • the cuff 22 includes an inner surface cylindrical 28, followed by a shoulder forming the bearing 20 and a cylindrical lower part flaring slightly outward and forming the lip 24.
  • the cuff 22 In its upper outer part, the cuff 22 has a frustoconical surface 30 above a portion cylindrical 32 in which is formed a groove radial annular 34. Below, the cuff 22 has a shoulder 36 in its middle part and ends with lip 24.
  • the timepiece 1 further comprises a bezel rotating 36, for example made of metal, which is guided in rotation relative to the glass 8 and to the middle 4.
  • the bezel 36 includes a first scope cylindrical 38 leading to a second bearing cylindrical 40 with a diameter greater than the first, a axial internal toothing 42 sawtooth, one groove radial annular 44 and an axial bearing 46.
  • the glass 8 comprises a peripheral flank provided with a annular groove 48 and a shoulder defining a axial bearing 50.
  • the annular groove receives a lining sealing 52 and is arranged substantially opposite the cylindrical bearing surface 38.
  • the annular groove 48 has preferably a circular section and the lining 52 has the form of an elastomer O-ring.
  • the cylindrical inner surface 28 defines with said shoulder formed in the glass 8 a housing in which is arranged a ratchet spring 54.
  • annular pawl spring 54 rests on the axial bearing surface of the shoulder 50 and is kept fixed in rotation, for example by driving, or bonding on ice or using E notches provided in the spring and cooperating with pins or provided for this purpose in the side of the glass 8, or Conversely.
  • the spring 54 comprises in the example illustrated in particular to Figures 2 and 3 six pawls 56 having the form of elastic blades which can flex axially and cooperate with the teeth 42 of the bezel 36, forming thus the latching mechanism with which the bezel 26.
  • the ratchet spring 54 and more particularly, the pawls 56 are made in plastic material. This has the advantage of eliminating any risk of injury to the teeth 42 of the telescope 36 during rotation of the telescope, especially when this last one is made of a "soft" metallic material such as aluminum or an aluminum-based alloy.
  • the spring 54 is made for example of a material plastic with a high yield strength and preferably between 160 and 200 MPa. As for example, a polyamide 6.6 loaded with 40% fiber carbon sold by Hoechst under the name Celanese Nylon is perfectly suited.
  • the seal 52 is provided above the bezel locking mechanism 36, so that this the latter is protected against the penetration of any solid impurity which can damage this mechanism when bezel rotation 36.
  • the centering of the telescope 36 is carried out directly on the glass 8, by the seal 52.
  • the clearance 58 between the cylindrical surface 38 of the bezel 36 and ice 8 can be very small and by example between 0.10 mm and 0.20 mm on the radius. The risk of foreign bodies entering this gap is therefore practically excluded.
  • this centering of the bezel using the trim allows almost remove any radial deflection of the telescope thus conferring on the watch equipped with the bezel a quality impression high.
  • the telescope 36 further comprises retaining means axial on the middle part 4.
  • These retaining means comprise a split ring 60 arranged in a housing formed partially in telescope 36 and in the surface outside of the cuff 22 when the bezel 36 is in placed on the middle part 4.
  • the split ring 60 is a plastic ring having a cross section transverse rectangular, its radial dimension being greater than its axial dimension and which is designated generally by "flat" elastic ring.
  • the housing therefore has a rectangular section and is formed by the radial annular grooves 34 and 44 formed respectively in the cuff 22 and in the bezel 36, facing each other, the split ring 60 being mounted in this housing so that it extends, in its normal position shown in Figure 1, at the times in throat 34 of the cuff and in throat 44 bezel 22. However, it has a radial clearance allowing it to retract into the throat 44 by elastic expansion.
