Definitions
- the invention relates to a sequin feed device for embroidery and / or sewing machines, wherein a slider gradually feeds sequins of an at least partially laterally guided sequin band to a tapping point, and a drive periodically moves the slider towards a tapping point and away from the tapping point, the slider being a driver has, which engages in a sequin opening of a sequin when the slide moves in the direction of the piercing point.
- Sequins are fed to the device as a coherent sequin tape wound on a spool in a semi-finished stamped form.
- a circular opening is usually punched into the sequin, into which the embroidering needle is immersed, so that after the embroidery material has been pierced, the sequin with the embroidery thread or threads used in embroidery or sewing is closed on the embroidery material fasten.
- the needle has been immersed in the embroidery material, the part of the sequin ribbon which projects freely over the cutting edge of the knife at this time, ie. the sequin to be sewn on, separated by a knife at a location predetermined by the pre-punched outer contour of the sequin band, whereby the sequin contour is completed.
- the openings punched into the sequins are not only used as a piercing opening for the needle, but also serve to transmit the feed movement, which in the known devices is effected by a so-called wart wheel or, as is known from German utility model G 9209764, by means of a driver molded onto a slide in Partial steps fed to the stitching point.
- Sequin feeding devices which transport the sequin belt by means of a wart wheel have the disadvantage that the manufacturing tolerances of the sequin belt and the driving pins of the wart wheel mean that the driving pins engaging in the openings of the sequins have a certain amount of play, which means that the sequin belt can move inadmissibly in the feed direction.
- This effect is reinforced by the fact that usually 3-4 driver pins simultaneously engage sequins arranged one behind the other.
- the use of only one driver always ensures that the quality of the embroidery only depends on the manufacturing tolerances of the sequin band.
- the driver is formed on a slide which rests on the sequin band under spring action.
- the slide is designed as a two-armed lever which is pivotally mounted on a drive lever, one arm having the driver and the other arm being connected to the drive lever via a spring. So that the driver can positively engage the repeating form elements of the sequin belt on the one hand during the transport stroke and on the other hand can move without carrying the sequin belt during the idle stroke, the driver has an abutment surface that is approximately perpendicular to the plane in the feed direction and an oblique sliding surface on the back. An additional braking element presses the sequin band against an impression or knife plate, the braking element laterally guiding the sequin band.
- a disadvantage of the sequin feed device according to G 9209764 is that a relatively large number of parts are required for driving the slide and for the braking element.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a sequin feed device which consists of a few parts and nevertheless ensures an exact feed of the sequin band.
- the slide is at least partially elastic, in particular a leaf spring, and the sequin band is pressurized against a pressure plate. Because the slide is elastic, no additional spring elements are required. The pressure force is advantageously generated by the slide itself. The flexibility of the slider also compensates for manufacturing tolerances with regard to the height of the sequin band without impairing the feed.
- part of the leaf spring is angled in the direction of the sequin band, the angled part forming the driver.
- the driver is a tab-shaped, in particular triangular part, which is formed on the slide with its one side facing away from the tapping point. It is particularly advantageous if the angled part is molded onto the end of the slide. However, it is also conceivable to punch the tab half out of the leaf spring and then bend it. The angled part thus forms a hook, the side facing away from the hook opening forms a sliding surface. If the slide is moved in the direction of the piercing point by the drive, the driver is pressed into a sequin opening and transports the sequin band by one on the drive through the catch hook adjustable distance in the direction of the tapping point.
- the driver slides out of the sequin opening due to the inclined sliding surface.
- the slide is moved at least the distance of a sequin diameter away from the piercing point, so that it is always ensured that the driver can engage in the corresponding sequin opening during the next feed movement.
- the leaf spring is preferably fastened at one end to a lever, the lever being rotatable about an axis by means of a drive.
- the leaf spring is pressurized with the other end of the sequin band, the driver being arranged at the other end. If the lever is turned, the end of the leaf spring which has the driver is either pulled away from the tapping point or towards the tapping point pushed.
- the leaf spring is tensioned in all possible rotational positions of the lever in such a way that it presses the sequin band against the pressure plate or knife plate with sufficient pressure.
- the deflection of the lever for the advancing and retracting movement of the driver is dependent on the length of the lever and the deflection of the leaf spring. The greater the distance between the fastening point of the leaf spring and the axis of rotation of the lever, the smaller the necessary angle of rotation of the lever for a constant sequin diameter.
- the pivoting movement is advantageously limited in both directions by means of a limiting element, as a result of which low requirements must be placed on the drive or the manufacturing tolerances of the components used for the drive.
- the limiting element is a U-shaped part, the two legs of the U-shaped part each forming a limitation for the pivoting of the lever.
- adjusting screws are advantageous on the legs, each of which can be screwed into a thread of the leg.
- the pivoting movement or the maximum pivoting angle in the respective direction can be precisely specified.
- the braking element is a spring, in particular a leaf or spiral spring, the spring being fixedly mounted at one end to the sequin feed device and with the other end pressing the sequin band against a pressure plate, in such a way that the Sequin tape can only be transported in the direction of the tapping point if the adhesive and / or frictional force generated by the braking element is overcome.
- FIG. 1 shows a sequin feed device 1, to which a sequin belt 2 is fed from a roll (not shown).
- the sequin band 2 is inserted into the sequin feed device through a slot 11, the slot 11 being formed by the fastening device 13 of the braking element 10 and the pressure plate 8.
- the height of the slot 11 is greater than the greatest thickness of the sequins 3 used.
- a leaf spring 10 is fastened to the fastening device 13 by means of a screw 13a.
- the leaf spring 10 is bent by means of the adjusting screw 13b, which also serves to fasten the fastening device 13 to the base plate 23 of the sequin feed device 1, in such a way that the sequin band 2 between the Leaf spring 10 and the pressure plate 8 is held with a certain contact pressure.
- the leaf spring 10 which serves as a braking element, the sequin band 2 is pressed against the pressure plate 8 and lies flat on it up to the tapping point 24.
- the sequin band 2 is guided laterally, the guide rails 5 being detachably fastened to the pressure plate 8 by means of screws, so that the width of the guide channel formed by the guide rails 5 is adapted to the diameter of the sequins 3 to be sewn or embroidered on the embroidery material can be.
- the sequin band 2 is pressed against the pressure plate 8 by the curved leaf spring 6, the sequin band 2 only being able to slide out of the guide channel in the direction V.
- the leaf spring 6 is in the untensioned state except for the downward, ie. tip 6a bent flat in the direction of the pressure plate 8 or the sequin band 2 and has an opening at one end 7 through which a retaining screw extends and holds the leaf spring 6 at the lower end of the lever 14.
- the lever 14 is fastened to the shaft 15 driven by the drive (not shown), which means that when the shaft 15 rotates, the leaf spring 6 either in the direction V, ie. is moved to the tapping point 24 or away from it.
- Both pivoting movements are in the directions V, R of the lever 14 through the legs 19, 21 of the U-shaped limiting part, which feeds the sequins to the base plate 23 device 1 is fixed, limited.
- fastening screws 20, 22 are held on the legs 19, 21 by means of threads which can be screwed more or less far into the thread, this depending on the dimensions of the sequins 3 to be embroidered.
- the leaf spring 6 is always bent in all pivoting positions, whereby the sequin band 2 is constantly pressurized. If the lever 14, as can be seen from FIG. 2, in the direction R, ie. pivoted away from the tapping point 24, the leaf spring 6 attached to the lower end of the lever 14 is moved away from the tapping point 24. As can be seen from FIGS. 3a and 3b, the end 6a of the leaf spring is angled slightly in the direction of the sequin band 2, which creates a sliding surface 6b which is slightly inclined and pointing towards the sequin band 2 and through which the tip 6a of the leaf spring 6 during pivoting movement V of the lever 14 tries to move the sequin tape 2 away from the piercing point 24.
- the leaf spring 10 also pressurizes the sequin band 2 against the pressure or knife plate 8, with a greater pressure force, the leaf spring 6 is bent upwards in such a way that the tip 6a of the leaf spring 6 from the opening 4 of the Sequin 3 slides out. The sequin band 2 is thus locked in the pivoting movement R of the lever 14.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a sequin feed device for embroidery and / or sewing machines, wherein a slider gradually feeds sequins of an at least partially laterally guided sequin band to a tapping point, and a drive periodically moves the slider towards a tapping point and away from the tapping point, the slider being a driver has, which engages in a sequin opening of a sequin when the slide moves in the direction of the piercing point.
Sequins are fed to the device as a coherent sequin tape wound on a spool in a semi-finished stamped form. A circular opening is usually punched into the sequin, into which the embroidering needle is immersed, so that after the embroidery material has been pierced, the sequin with the embroidery thread or threads used in embroidery or sewing is closed on the embroidery material fasten. After the needle has been immersed in the embroidery material, the part of the sequin ribbon which projects freely over the cutting edge of the knife at this time, ie. the sequin to be sewn on, separated by a knife at a location predetermined by the pre-punched outer contour of the sequin band, whereby the sequin contour is completed.
The openings punched into the sequins are not only used as a piercing opening for the needle, but also serve to transmit the feed movement, which in the known devices is effected by a so-called wart wheel or, as is known from German utility model G 9209764, by means of a driver molded onto a slide in Partial steps fed to the stitching point.
Sequin feeding devices which transport the sequin belt by means of a wart wheel have the disadvantage that the manufacturing tolerances of the sequin belt and the driving pins of the wart wheel mean that the driving pins engaging in the openings of the sequins have a certain amount of play, which means that the sequin belt can move inadmissibly in the feed direction. This effect is reinforced by the fact that usually 3-4 driver pins simultaneously engage sequins arranged one behind the other. The possible displacement of the sequin tape relative to the stitching point by the game leads to the fact that, even if the other drive and locking elements involved in the transport work without play, the pre-punched outer contour of the Sequin tape predetermined separation point can be missed by the size of the game, which leads to an undesired serrated outer contour, which represents a significant reduction in the quality of the embroidery, since this abnormal sequin shape can be seen with the naked eye even with small deviations.
In the sequin feed device known from G 9209764, the use of only one driver always ensures that the quality of the embroidery only depends on the manufacturing tolerances of the sequin band. The driver is formed on a slide which rests on the sequin band under spring action. The slide is designed as a two-armed lever which is pivotally mounted on a drive lever, one arm having the driver and the other arm being connected to the drive lever via a spring.
A disadvantage of the sequin feed device according to G 9209764 is that a relatively large number of parts are required for driving the slide and for the braking element.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a sequin feed device which consists of a few parts and nevertheless ensures an exact feed of the sequin band.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the slide is at least partially elastic, in particular a leaf spring, and the sequin band is pressurized against a pressure plate. Because the slide is elastic, no additional spring elements are required. The pressure force is advantageously generated by the slide itself. The flexibility of the slider also compensates for manufacturing tolerances with regard to the height of the sequin band without impairing the feed.
In a preferred embodiment, part of the leaf spring is angled in the direction of the sequin band, the angled part forming the driver. The driver is a tab-shaped, in particular triangular part, which is formed on the slide with its one side facing away from the tapping point. If the slide is moved away from the tapping point, the driver slides out of the sequin opening due to the inclined sliding surface. The slide is moved at least the distance of a sequin diameter away from the piercing point, so that it is always ensured that the driver can engage in the corresponding sequin opening during the next feed movement.
The leaf spring is preferably fastened at one end to a lever, the lever being rotatable about an axis by means of a drive. The leaf spring is pressurized with the other end of the sequin band, the driver being arranged at the other end. If the lever is turned, the end of the leaf spring which has the driver is either pulled away from the tapping point or towards the tapping point
pushed. The leaf spring is tensioned in all possible rotational positions of the lever in such a way that it presses the sequin band against the pressure plate or knife plate with sufficient pressure. The deflection of the lever for the advancing and retracting movement of the driver is dependent on the length of the lever and the deflection of the leaf spring. The greater the distance between the fastening point of the leaf spring and the axis of rotation of the lever, the smaller the necessary angle of rotation of the lever for a constant sequin diameter.
The pivoting movement is advantageously limited in both directions by means of a limiting element, as a result of which low requirements must be placed on the drive or the manufacturing tolerances of the components used for the drive. In a particularly simple embodiment, the limiting element is a U-shaped part, the two legs of the U-shaped part each forming a limitation for the pivoting of the lever. For this purpose, adjusting screws are advantageous on the legs, each of which can be screwed into a thread of the leg. Depending on how far the adjusting screw is screwed into the leg, the pivoting movement or the maximum pivoting angle in the respective direction can be precisely specified. With such a configuration, sensors and, in connection with this, complex control of the drive can be dispensed with. If different sizes of sequins are to be attached to the embroidery material one after the other with the embroidery or sewing machine, it is sufficient to use the adjusting screws to set the maximum pivoting angle of the lever, which in each case belongs to the sequin size.
A particularly simple embodiment results when the braking element is a spring, in particular a leaf or spiral spring, the spring being fixedly mounted at one end to the sequin feed device and with the other end pressing the sequin band against a pressure plate, in such a way that the Sequin tape can only be transported in the direction of the tapping point if the adhesive and / or frictional force generated by the braking element is overcome.
Possible embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to drawings.

By means of the
The
The
If the
