Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for coupling of a regulator to at least one breathing connection a closable ambient air intake and a release switch for a bottle air supply valve at the regulator.
  • Protective suits for example, are considered breathing connections or respirators such as full face masks, half masks or Respirators. You will have a regulator with an air supply, for example a breathing air bottle, connected to a blower, etc. Such, so-called heavy breathing apparatus, for example used by firefighters in fire situations where the ambient air contains toxic gases, smoke, etc.
  • a major disadvantage of this known device is that there is time at the crucial moment needed and can therefore take too long until the connecting piece the regulator into the suction opening the respirator and thus breathing from Ambient air is switched to cylinder air.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore a further develop known device so that this change in the shortest possible time and without cumbersome handling can be carried out.
  • the coupling device for the regulator to the Breathing connection has an actuator, which at the Manually adjustable attached breathing regulator is between a first position in which the Ambient air intake is closed and at the same time the bottle air supply valve is released, and a second position, in which the ambient air intake opening opened and at the same time the bottle air supply valve especially in its closed position Is blocked.
  • This invention has the advantage that a mask carrier the regulators already when putting on the breathing apparatus can connect to his respirator, without bottle air already in the respirator flows.
  • the mask wearer can do as before Approach the actual place of use and still have ambient air breathe so his bottle air supply gentle, and only at the place of use with a short manual Actuation of an actuator removes his breathing air Switch ambient air to bottle air. This is significant faster and easier than the cumbersome time-consuming insertion of the regulator with its Connection piece in the suction opening, as previously happened.
  • the adjustment of the actuator can be done via a Rotary or pivotal movement occur in a preferred Embodiment is the actuator directly through the connector for the regulator formed and in particular through a shift of the regulator can be operated. That means that with a simple push from the front onto the regulators the actuator is confirmed and the air supply is switched, while on a subsequent train on Regulator is switched back. So the switchover not from one state to another happens unintentionally, it is advantageous if the actuator can be locked in the two end positions, so that a small initial resistance when actuated is bridged.
  • the Lock the actuator automatically. This ensures that in a situation where inhalation of Ambient air due to the gases it contains would be harmful, an accidental switching back of the Actuator is prevented.
  • FIG. 1 shows a regulator 1 which is connected to a Respiratory mask 2 is coupled.
  • a Respiratory mask 2 With the breathing mask is a viewing window 4 in a mask body 3 used.
  • a coupling element with the mask body 3 5 tightly connected.
  • the coupling element 5 which is provided with an external thread, into a corresponding one located on the mask body 2 Screwed thread.
  • a Connection piece 6 of the regulator 1 can be moved.
  • the connecting piece 6 can be biased with a Element 7 in locking grooves 8, 9 in the coupling element 5 are formed, snap into place. Between the coupling element 5 and the connector 6 is also an annular seal 10 is provided, which prevents Secondary air through the between coupling element 5 and connecting piece 6 formed gap is pulled through.
  • connection piece 6 In its outside of the coupling element 5 Area has the connecting piece 6 several ambient air intake openings 11 distributed around its circumference on through when the mask wearer inhales accordingly arrows 12 ambient air into the mask interior can flow.
  • the regulator 1 On its facing away from the coupling element 5 End of the connection piece 6 carries the regulator 1, with which a bottle air supply valve 13 can be actuated is. In Figure 1, this valve is in the closed Position shown. It closes the Line 14, which leads to a breathing air bottle.
  • the bottle air supply valve is via a linkage 15 connected to a movable breathing membrane 16.
  • the linkage 15 is articulated on a rocker arm 17, the one with from the housing of the regulator externally guided release switch 18 is connected.
  • This release switch 18 brings when it as in Figure 1, is not actuated, the rocker arm 17 in a position that the bottle air supply valve is in locks its closed position.
  • the connector 6 is in the coupling element 5 of the mask body 3 retracted until it with the prestressed element 7 in the further inside horizontal locking groove 8 engages.
  • the regulator 1 facing end of the coupling element 5 seals in cooperation with a second ring seal 19 Ambient air intake openings 11. Doing so simultaneously with a trained on the coupling element 5 Bund 20 of the release switch 18 is actuated. This tilts the rocker arm 17 to a position in which the bottle air supply valve 13 on the linkage 15 through the Breathing membrane 16 can be operated: If the mask wearer inhales, arises in the space in the figure 2 is shown to the left of the breathing membrane 16 Vacuum, which the membrane 16 follows.
  • Bottle air according to the arrows 21 to the mask wearer can flow. If the mask wearer exhales, then the negative pressure is released and the breathing membrane 16 is moved back to their original position, whereby the Valve 13 closed and so unnecessary bottle air is consumed.
  • the device shown works as follows: After the mask wearer the breathing mask 2 has put on, he leads over the Line 14 connected to a breathing air bottle Regulators 1 with its connecting piece 6 in the Coupling element 5 of the breathing mask with a thread is screwed into the mask body 2. The connecting piece engages in the first locking groove 9. In This position allows ambient air through the ambient air intake openings 11 pour into the breathing mask if the mask wearer inhales.
  • the mask carrier unlocks the Locking hook 22 and pulls the regulator 1 back to the first position.
  • the Ambient air intake openings 11 opened again and at the same time the cylinder air supply valve in its operation locked because the release switch 18 in its slides back to original position.
