Abstract

Ein Kolbenring für Verbrennungsmotoren wird nach bekannten Verfahren hergestellt und auf seiner äußeren Umfangsfläche mit einer Laufschicht beschichtet. Durch ein anschließendes Beschichten des Kolbenringes im Plasma-CVD-Verfahren mit einer dotierten Hartkohlenstoffschicht wird ein Kolbenring erhalten, der sowohl die Kolbenringflanken als auch die Kolbenringnutenflanken in dem Kolben vor unzulässig hohem Verschleiß schützt.
