Abstract

Verfahren die einen Brenner aufweist, mit dem eine Flamme (12) erzeugt wird, und einen Brennraum, in den die Flamme gerichtet ist. Üblicherweise können bei solchen Feuerungen Druckschwingungen auftreten, die, wie der Erfinder erkannt hat, durch sich an den Außen- bzw. Randbereichen der Flamme bzw. der Brennstoff/Luftströmung aufrollende Ringwirbel angeregt und verstärkt werden. Um diese Ringwirbel zu unterbinden, wird vorgeschlagen, die Flamme mit einem Mantel aus Gas (8) zu umgeben, der eine höhere Strömungsgeschwindigkeit in Flammenrichtung aufweist als der Randbereich der Flamme, wodurch eine Grenzschichtbeschleunigung erfolgt und die Wirbelbildung nicht mehr auftreten kann.
