Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Walzen von Bändern (B), welche über ihre Breite eine ungleichförmige Dicken- und/oder Längenverteilung aufweisen, unter Verwendung mindestens einer auf der Einlauf- und/oder Auslaufseite eines Walzwerks (W,W',W'') angeordneten, in ihrer Stellung relativ zum Band (B) verschwenkbaren Steuerrolle (5,9,21,27,41,43), welche es unabhängig von den jeweiligen Betriebszuständen ermöglichen, bei einer geringen Störanfälligkeit ein durch Ungleichförmigkeit im Dicken- und/oder Längenverlauf über die Breite eines Bandes verursachtes Bandverlaufen zu kompensieren. Dies wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch erreicht, daß mit mindestens einer Meßeinrichtung (7,11,25) die Verteilung der Zugspannungen über die Breite des Bandes (B) erfaßt wird und daß entsprechend der erfaßten Zugspannungsverteilung die Steuerrolle (5,9,21,27,41,43) so lange verstellt wird, bis die erfaßte Zugspannungsverteilung einem Sollwert entspricht.
