Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for reducing noise at the human ear, with a microphone picking up the noise and a reproduction transducer, to which a signal for noise compensation is fed via a compensation circuit connected to the microphone.
- Such a device is known from DE-42 00 811-C2.
- the known device has headphones with acoustically closed ear-enclosing shells.
- the microphone for recording the noise is arranged in front of the playback transducer offset from the main central axis of the playback transducer.
- the disturbing sound picked up by the microphone is first fed to an amplifier, then filtered and then again fed to the reproduction transducer, which excites a disturbing sound signal which is in phase opposition to the disturbing sound.
- the known device does not always work satisfactorily under certain conditions.
- the circumferential shape of the headphones thus results in poor ventilation of the ear, as a result of which the formation of sweat in the area covered by the headphones is supported, especially since the headphones lie on with relatively high pressure. This leads to the fact that the known device is reluctantly worn for comfort reasons and its use is uncomfortable.
- each human ear and in particular the area of the auricle, like the human fingerprint, is individually shaped. This results in different conditions of sound reflection and different sound volumes for each human ear.
- the result of this is that a compensation control circuit which has been tuned once and which is matched to average ear reflection behavior and sound volume often works in a suboptimal state when used.
- the object is achieved with a device for reducing noise in the human ear, which has a microphone which picks up the noise and a playback transducer which is supplied with signals compensating for the noise via a compensation circuit connected to the microphone and in which the microphone has a compensating element, which is arranged in front of the sound inlet opening of the microphone.
- Such a compensation element compensates for the individually different auricle reflections, thus defining a quasi-constant sound reflection and thereby reducing the individual reflection effects in the compensation circuit and improving the use of the entire device and increasing the effectiveness of the overall noise compensation.
- the circuit gain of the compensation circuit increases less than in the case of a device without a reflector and The stability of the control loop is ensured even when the headphones are pressed down.
- the microphone and the compensation transducer are also aligned with the ear and preferably centered on an axis of symmetry, e.g. the axis of rotational symmetry, as shown in FIG. 1.
- the compensating element is formed by a circular plate which has projections directed towards the transducer for receiving the microphone. This allows the microphone to be fixed with respect to the compensating element.
- the headphones are not fitted around the ear, but rather on the ear, so that a smaller size and a considerably lower weight of the headphones result and despite less pressure on the headphones than in the known one Device that noise reduction is sufficiently good compared to the known device and is even improved.
- the wearing comfort of headphones / hearing protection designed in this way is greatly improved compared to the known device, especially since the weight of the headphones can be reduced by approximately 50% compared to the known headphones.
- Fig. 1 shows part of an on-ear headphone 1 with an acoustically closed ear pad 2 and shell 3.
- the noise 4 coming to the ear is picked up by a microphone 5, which transmits the recording signal to a compensation circuit 6, which in turn transmits a signal to one for noise compensation Playback converter 7 outputs, which excites the noise-compensating signal.
- the microphone 5 has a sound inlet opening 8, which is covered by a compensating element 9. Both the playback transducer 7 and the microphone 5 are aligned in the direction of the human ear 10, so that the compensating element 9, the microphone 5 and the playback transducer 7 have a common axis of symmetry, which is preferably the axis of rotation.
- the compensating element 9, as shown in FIGS. 1b and 1c, consists of a plate 10 which has projections 11 directed towards the playback transducer.
- the distance between the plate 10 of the compensating element and the sound inlet opening of the microphone is approximately 1 to 3 mm.
- the plate 10 is circular and has a diameter of about 0.5 to 3 cm, preferably about 1.5 cm and is made of plastic.
- the microphone is received by a sleeve with a circumferential bead and the sleeve fits with its front part in the area between the projections 11 of the compensating element 9 until the circumferential bead rests on the projections. The position of the microphone with respect to the compensating element 9 is thus completely defined.
- the compensating element Through the compensating element, reflections from the human auricle, which are different for each person due to the individually designed human auricle shape, reach the microphone in a defined size by converting them into a corresponding electrical signal. Due to the sound reflection defined by the compensating element, the loop gain of the compensation circuit shown in FIG. 3 increases less than without the reflector when the pressure is increased. By means of the compensating element, the stability of the control loop of the compensation circuit is ensured even when the headphones are pressed on.
- the same components as in Fig. 1 are designated by the same reference number.
- the microphone 5 is arranged in the known device offset by 90 ° to the main axis of the playback converter in front of the playback converter.
- the sound inlet opening is not covered in the microphone shown in FIG. 2.
- the headphone shown in FIG. 2 is a headphone that surrounds the ear, whose contact pressure must be about 10 Newtons and thus about 3 times that of the headphones according to the invention shown in FIG. 1.
- the headphone shown in FIG. 2 is about twice as heavy as the headphone shown in FIG. 1, which weighs about 180 g.
- the compensation circuit for the device according to the invention has the structure shown in FIG. 3, which is essentially known from DE-4200811.
- the output signal 17 generated by the microphone 5 is preamplified by a first amplifier 14, evaluated in a filter 16 and amplified in a further amplifier 18 in such a way that excitation of the reproduction transducer 7 in opposite phase results.
Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1
- Fig. 2
