Es wurde daher gefunden, daß es zur Vermeidung einer Beeinträchtigung der Druckqualität ausreichend ist, wenn der Außendurchmesser der Bogenführungstrommel nur in einem Teilbereich, nämlich dem ersten Umfangsabschnitt auf die Dicke des jeweiligen Druckträgers einstellbar ist. Wie die Darstellung in Figur 2 zeigt, wird durch die beschriebene Verstellung des Segments 7 die kreiszylindrische Ausgangsform der Mantelfolie 10 im Umfangsabschnitt Y in Richtung einer elliptischen Zylinderform verändert. Der erforderliche Verstellbereich des Segments 7 ist jedoch im Verhältnis zum Radius der Mantelfläche 9 so klein, daß die sich hierdurch ergebende Abweichung von der Form des Kreiszylinders in der Praxis keine feststellbare Auswirkung hat. Claims (11)

  1. Sheet guiding drum with a gripper support (5) for a sheet processing rotary printing press, wherein the cover surface of the sheet guiding drum is provided with a cover foil (10), the radial position of which is variable by means of an adjustable element (7), characterised in that the cover foil (10), during the rotational movement of the sheet guiding drum, after the gripper support (5), has a first peripheral section (Y) which is variable by means of the adjustable element (7) in its radial position and after the first peripheral section (Y) has a second peripheral section (Z) which is not variable in its radial position.
  2. Sheet guiding drum according to Claim 1, characterised in that the first peripheral section (Y) of the cover foil (10) extends across a sector of the sheet guiding drum of approximately 160°, wherein this peripheral section (Y) lies directly against the gripper support (5).
  3. Sheet guiding drum according to one of Claims 1 or 2, characterised in that the adjustable element (7) is constituted by a radially movable segment on which the cover foil (10) lies with its inner surface.
  4. Sheet guiding drum according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the element (7) is arranged at an angular distance of from around 70° to 120°, preferably at an angular distance of 90°, from the gripper support (5).
  5. Sheet guiding drum according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the position of the element (7) is variable in the peripheral direction.
  6. Sheet guiding drum according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the adjustable element (7) has a convexly curved support surface (8) with which it lies along a surface line against the interior surface of the cover foil (10), wherein the radius of curvature of the support surface (8) is the same or smaller than the radius of the inner surface of the cover foil (10).
  7. Sheet guiding drum according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the stiffness of the cover foil (10) is so set that the change in curvature of the cover foil (10) effected by the radial positional change of the adjustable element (7) remains minimal.
  8. Sheet guiding drum according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the cover foil (10) is tensioned in the peripheral direction at both peripheral ends or just at one peripheral end by a spring (11).
  9. Sheet guiding drum according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the front end of the cover foil (10) is adjustable together with the gripper support (5) for matching to differently thick print carriers in the radial direction.
  10. Sheet guiding drum according to one of Claims 8 or 9, characterised in that the front end of the cover foil (10) is fixed to the gripper support (5).
  11. Sheet guiding drum according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that for adjusting the element (7), an adjustment drive is provided which is adjustable with the press running by hand and/or by motor.
