Definitions
- the present invention relates to a pressure compensation vessel for accommodating changes in volume of a quantity of a liquid which is responsive to temperature changes, with a rigid container housing which has a supply connection and an outlet connection for the liquid and an expandable membrane which can be fastened in the housing and which separates the interior of the container into a liquid space and divides a gas space, the membrane having an area with an approximately star-shaped fold in cross section in the unexpanded initial state.
- a pressure compensation vessel of the type mentioned at the beginning is e.g. known from German utility model 19 85 404 (U1).
- the membrane has an area with an approximately star-shaped fold in cross section in the unstretched initial state. This cross-sectional shape, which differs from the circular shape, results in a gentler stress and deformation of the membrane during expansion.
- EP-A-0 137 322 discloses a pressure compensation container in which the inlet and outlet connections are arranged axially at the bottom and top of the container and the membrane extends concentrically in the longitudinal direction in the center of the approximately cylindrical container, so that the gas space defines the liquid space concentrically surrounds.
- the membrane in this known surge tank is a cylindrical tubular membrane in the unstretched state. When this hose membrane expands due to increasing water pressure, undefined folds can result, so that water pockets are formed in which residual water is not completely exchanged, which in turn causes the problem of bacterial formation.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a pressure compensation vessel of the type mentioned at the outset with a membrane which has a high wear resistance, always expands and contracts in a defined manner, so that undefined folds can be formed with undesired water pockets and in which a better length compensation is given with a pressure-loaded membrane.
- a pressure compensation vessel according to the invention of the type mentioned at the outset with the characterizing features of the main claim.
- the ring beads present according to the invention and the concave curvatures improve the length compensation when the membrane is under pressure.
- the membrane In the unstretched initial state, the membrane is also folded, so that there is approximately a star shape in cross section. With increasing liquid pressure in the liquid space inside the membrane, the concave sections of the star-shaped membrane are pressed outwards, so that the membrane approximates a cylindrical shape. If the liquid pressure in the interior of the membrane decreases again, then this takes on the originally predetermined star-shaped fold again.
- Such a membrane has a high expansion potential and is therefore very wear-resistant. It expands and contracts again like a lung.
- the membrane is preferably placed in an approximately cylindrical container with a lid part and bottom part in the lid area or bottom area, e.g. held by a flange that is clamped to parts of the container in the lid area or bottom area.
- the membrane preferably extends in the longitudinal direction in the container, with the inside of the liquid space, which is concentrically surrounded by the gas space and the liquid space is fed via inlet and outlet connections attached above and below in the axial region of the container.
- a supporting plate with openings for the gas passage surrounding it is preferably provided to support the expanded membrane.
- a second support tube is attached within it. This perforated tube, which can correspond to the tube for the water supply, prevents the membrane from completely closing inwards and ensures the possibility of constant water flow in the unexpanded initial state of the folded membrane.
- the membrane Above a section with the approximately star-shaped cross section and / or below this section, the membrane also has an annular bead.
- a concave curvature is present at the top and / or at the bottom between the annular bead and the star-shaped section.
- the star-folded part can have three or more star arms distributed over the circumference in a symmetrical arrangement with concavely curved sections in between.
- FIG. 1 shows the fold membrane in the lower part in a side view, in the upper part in a vertical longitudinal section.
- the fold membrane 10 has a fastening flange 11 at the top, which is formed by a type of fold, and at the lower end there is a corresponding fastening flange 15 for fastening in the surge tank.
- the wall of the fold membrane 10 initially runs in an upper annular section 13.
- a bulge 17 adjoins this annular bead toward the bottom.
- the wall of the fold membrane 10 runs outwards again and opens into a longer section 16 which, as can be seen from FIG.
- the section according to FIG. 1 shows the transition region 17 between the upper annular bead 13 and the star-folded section 16 in its greatest width dimension. It can be seen from FIG. 2 that this star-shaped fold 16 extends over the circumference of the fold membrane seen has four symmetrical arms 16a, between each of which concave wider sections 16b connecting them.
- the section Fig. 1 thus runs through an arm 16a of the star fold.
- the section FIG. 3, on the other hand, runs through the narrowest section 16b of the concave curvature of the area folded in a star shape.
- the mounting flange 11 is not round but is provided with a flattened portion 12 on two opposite sides.
- the four arms 16a of the star-shaped fold protrude somewhat further outwards than the upper annular bead 13.
- the fold membrane 10 is concavely curved again and merges upwards into the star-shaped section 16.
- FIG. 4 now shows a pressure compensation container according to the invention with a built-in fold membrane 10.
- the entire container is designated by reference number 20. It consists of an upper part 20a and a lower part 20b, which are welded together.
- the container 20 has an approximately cylindrical shape, the cylindrical wall merging into a flat lid section at the top and into a flat bottom section at the bottom.
- holding devices 29 are provided at the top and bottom, which clamp the fastening flange 11 or 15 in the lid region of the container wall or in the bottom region of the container wall.
- a water pipe 21 extends concentrically through the container 20, through which water reaches the container through the upper feed pipe 25. On the underside, the water is discharged via the outlet connection 28.
- the water pipe 21 has openings 22 through which the Water gets into the liquid space 23 inside the fold membrane 10.
- the gas space 24 is located outside the fold membrane.
- a support plate 26 is also provided with openings 27, on which the fold membrane 10, which expands as the pressure in the liquid space 23 increases, is supported.
- the star-shaped folding of the fold membrane 10 according to the invention leads to a defined expansion or contraction of the fold membrane and prevents the formation of water pockets. The residual water can thus always be completely replaced.
- the annular beads 13, 14 and the concave curvatures serve to compensate for the length when the membrane is under pressure.
- the gas filling valve 30 for filling the gas space of the surge tank is mounted in the region of the wall on the top thereof and at a distance from the axis of the container.
- the opening of the gas filling valve 30 points outwards at an angle of 45 ° to the cylinder axis of the container. Other angles to the cylinder axis of the container are also possible.
- the gas filling valve 30 is particularly easily accessible to an operator through this arrangement according to the invention.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a pressure compensation vessel for accommodating changes in volume of a quantity of a liquid which is responsive to temperature changes, with a rigid container housing which has a supply connection and an outlet connection for the liquid and an expandable membrane which can be fastened in the housing and which separates the interior of the container into a liquid space and divides a gas space, the membrane having an area with an approximately star-shaped fold in cross section in the unexpanded initial state.
Pressure expansion vessels of this type are used for heating or water heating systems. A pressure compensation vessel of the type mentioned at the beginning is e.g. known from German utility model 19 85 404 (U1). The membrane has an area with an approximately star-shaped fold in cross section in the unstretched initial state. This cross-sectional shape, which differs from the circular shape, results in a gentler stress and deformation of the membrane during expansion.
Another pressure compensation vessel is known from German utility model 85 07 701.1 (U1). In this known pressure compensation vessel, the problem has been dealt with that there is a risk that bacteria will settle inside the container when the water is still. In order to counteract this bacterial formation, a possibility is created in the known container in order to achieve a certain flow through the liquid space with the liquid medium (usually water). For this purpose, a plate-shaped element with upright ribs is used and the inlet connection and the outlet connection on the top of the container are arranged side by side. The liquid space is arranged above the gas space. The membrane is tensioned in the unstretched starting position and arched upwards and assumes an S-shaped fold as the pressure in the liquid space increases. This arrangement in the known surge tank is only suitable for a type of tank of the type mentioned.
Furthermore, EP-A-0 137 322 discloses a pressure compensation container in which the inlet and outlet connections are arranged axially at the bottom and top of the container and the membrane extends concentrically in the longitudinal direction in the center of the approximately cylindrical container, so that the gas space defines the liquid space concentrically surrounds. The membrane in this known surge tank is a cylindrical tubular membrane in the unstretched state. When this hose membrane expands due to increasing water pressure, undefined folds can result, so that water pockets are formed in which residual water is not completely exchanged, which in turn causes the problem of bacterial formation.
The object of the present invention is to provide a pressure compensation vessel of the type mentioned at the outset with a membrane which has a high wear resistance, always expands and contracts in a defined manner, so that undefined folds can be formed with undesired water pockets and in which a better length compensation is given with a pressure-loaded membrane.
The solution to this problem is provided by a pressure compensation vessel according to the invention of the type mentioned at the outset with the characterizing features of the main claim. The ring beads present according to the invention and the concave curvatures improve the length compensation when the membrane is under pressure. In the unstretched initial state, the membrane is also folded, so that there is approximately a star shape in cross section.
Such a membrane has a high expansion potential and is therefore very wear-resistant. It expands and contracts again like a lung.
The membrane is preferably placed in an approximately cylindrical container with a lid part and bottom part in the lid area or bottom area, e.g. held by a flange that is clamped to parts of the container in the lid area or bottom area. The membrane preferably extends in the longitudinal direction in the container, with the inside of the liquid space, which is concentrically surrounded by the gas space and the liquid space is fed via inlet and outlet connections attached above and below in the axial region of the container. A supporting plate with openings for the gas passage surrounding it is preferably provided to support the expanded membrane. To support the folded membrane, a second support tube is attached within it. This perforated tube, which can correspond to the tube for the water supply, prevents the membrane from completely closing inwards and ensures the possibility of constant water flow in the unexpanded initial state of the folded membrane.
Above a section with the approximately star-shaped cross section and / or below this section, the membrane also has an annular bead. A concave curvature is present at the top and / or at the bottom between the annular bead and the star-shaped section. The star-folded part can have three or more star arms distributed over the circumference in a symmetrical arrangement with concavely curved sections in between.

Reference is first made to FIGS. 1 to 3, and the fold membrane specially designed according to the invention is explained on the basis thereof. Fig. 1 shows the fold membrane in the lower part in a side view, in the upper part in a vertical longitudinal section. As can be seen, the
As can also be seen from FIG. 2, the
If the
Die Ringwülste 13, 14 und die konkaven Wölbungen dienen zum Längenausgleich bei druckbelasteter Membran.FIG. 4 now shows a pressure compensation container according to the invention with a built-in
From Fig. 4 it can be seen that the
