A sheet 3 coming from the feeder abuts the front mark 14 and is gripped there by the grippers 12 of the gripper bridge 2 of the pre-gripper 1. This pre-gripper 1 moves along the dot-dash line 19. At the same time that the grippers 12 move up to the transfer line 18 of the sheet 3, the feed cylinder 4 rotates such that the grippers 17 are in the same transfer position and the sheet 3 can take over. The above-described bending of the gripper bridge 2 by the pressure pieces 5 and the stops 6 must take place in an area before the grippers 12 and the grippers 17 have reached the transfer line 18 of the sheet 3. In this way, the stretching described is impressed on the sheet 3 and this stretching is retained even after the grippers 17 have taken over the sheet 3 from the grippers 12. In this way, when the sheet 3 is transferred from one gripper bridge to the next, the sheet 3 is always passed with the embossed stretching on its way through the printing press, thereby preventing the sheets 3 from being rolled out, which has the effect of tight printing brings about.

Claims (6)

  1. Device for avoiding register errors on an oscillating pre-gripper (1) having a gripper bridge (2), the gripper bridge (2) being bent in time with the machine in such a way that each sheet (3) experiences stretching in its rear region, and the gripper bridge (2) being guided and driven in a bend-resistant manner in its middle region, characterized in that a feed cylinder (4) carries, on both sides, thrust pieces (5) which, before each sheet is transferred onto the feed cylinder (4), bend the gripper bridge (2) at its ends in the sheet running direction, and in that bending is maintained until the sheet transfer is concluded.
  2. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the thrust pieces (5) are adjustable.
  3. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the gripper bridge(2) carries stops (6) co-operating with the thrust pieces (5), and in that the stops (6) are adjustable.
  4. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the feed cylinder (4) is adjustable in the circumferential direction, the drive of the gripper bridge (2) being uncoupled from the drive of the feed cylinder (4).
  5. Device according to one of Claims 2 to 4, characterized by remote adjustment.
  6. Device according to one or more of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the gripper bridge (2) is additionally guided at its sides by flexible supports (7).
