Definitions
- the invention relates to packaging material according to the preamble of patent claim 1 and to packaging according to the preamble of patent claim 14.
- packaging material which consists of normal corrugated cardboard with a corrugated core layer and flat cover layers on both sides.
- the blank is provided with molded folding grooves to fold the packaging material around the door leaf in such a way that the sensitive, narrow longitudinal edge areas with their folds and any fittings are protected and clean, flat and straight narrow sides are created in the packaging.
- This packaging material is expensive because the operating costs of a corrugated cardboard manufacturing machine for normal corrugated cardboard are high, because cutting is a time-consuming operation in expensive machines, and because the disposal costs of the packaging material are high because they depend on the volume or weight.
- a method and apparatus for making packaging blanks from normal, i.e. Corrugated cardboard with flat cover layers on both sides are known from EP 0 541 953.
- the sensitive longitudinal edge area of a door leaf is only insufficiently protected, because if the corrugation runs in the direction of the longitudinal edge area, the stack-dent compressive strength and the crush resistance of the corrugated cardboard are low there.
- there is a rounded course of the single-sided corrugated cardboard which gives an unsightly and improvised visual impression when the door leaves are stacked one on top of the other, packed in this way, despite the internal corrugation.
- Packaging for single-sided corrugated cardboard that looks like the lid of normal boxes and in which the objects are placed is also used for bottles or other fragile items, whereby they may be stacked on top of each other in groups.
- the dimensional stability of the packaging is low and little strength can be achieved laterally and in the vertical direction of the packaging sides.
- Methods and devices for producing blanks from corrugated cardboard on one side for packaging are known from CH-PS 407 723 and DE-GM 19 10 354, folding grooves being embossed or incised transversely to the direction of the corrugation.
- the invention has for its object to provide a packaging material or a packaging made of single-sided corrugated cardboard which, despite similarly good usage properties as normal corrugated cardboard, is less expensive than packaging material or packaging made from normal corrugated cardboard, with the aim being to pack objects in a well-protected manner to be able to.
- the object is achieved according to the invention with the packaging material with the features of claim 1 and with the packaging with the features according to claim 14.
- One-sided corrugated cardboard can be produced inexpensively and - which is not possible with normal corrugated cardboard - can be processed from a roll.
- the one-sided corrugated cardboard is so stiffened by the reinforcement that it has at least the same usage properties as normal corrugated cardboard.
- stack-proof pages are created in the packaging that are straight and level, which, despite the folding grooves, cannot be achieved without corrugated cardboard on one side without reinforcement.
- the packaging material is tear-resistant and pressure-stable. In the other areas, which are not covered by the reinforcement, the packaging material is unfinished.
- the packaging has practically the same properties for packaging plate-shaped objects as the expensive packaging made of normal corrugated cardboard, because the reinforcement is effective in the dent-resistant areas, where clean and flat and dent-resistant side surfaces are used, which also contributes to the formation of clean folded edges. In addition, there is a high level of compressive strength with good crack resistance and compressive strength in these areas. In the areas without reinforcement, the packaging serves to cover areas of the packaged object, for which normal corrugated cardboard was actually overqualified. The reinforcement is easy to apply. The additional effort for the reinforcements is negligible in view of the savings in the production of the one-sided Corrugated cardboard, when storing or processing single-sided corrugated cardboard into packaging and especially when disposing.
- each reinforcement can already be attached when the single-sided corrugated cardboard is manufactured. If formatted blanks are formed from the single-sided corrugated cardboard, the reinforcements and, if applicable, the folding grooves can also only be attached when the blank is being produced.
- the reinforcements lying transverse to and with the shaft form a frame in which the strength of normal corrugated cardboard is present, while the remaining surface retains the advantage of one-sided corrugated cardboard.
- the flat reinforcement is only glued to the shaft crests. This creates a limited area of stable normal corrugated cardboard in the one-sided corrugated cardboard or, if the reinforcement is stronger than the flat top layer, a specially reinforced and stiffened area.
- the materials for reinforcement specified in claim 4 are inexpensive and easy to process.
- the embodiment according to claim 5 is particularly expedient because no material separation is required for disposal.
- the embodiment according to claim 6 is used to form different packaging sizes from a blank. Only selected reinforcements are used for stiffening. A blank can therefore be used for objects of different sizes.
- the embodiment according to claim 8 can be expedient.
- the configuration of the folding grooves can be expedient.
- the packaging material according to claim 10 can also be used for the production of different packaging sizes, with the right pair of folding grooves then being used within the entire strip-shaped surface area to form a stiffened packaging side.
- the reinforcement is used here as a carrier for another packaging material, for example in order to embed or protect particularly sensitive edges or projections.
- the embodiment according to claim 12 has the advantage of inexpensive production, space-saving storage, easy transport and a small space requirement for the end user, who separates the used sections for the packaging from the rolled web.
- the embodiment of the packaging according to claim 15 is characterized by stiffened side areas of the packaging with precisely formable folding edges.
- the reinforcement is on the inside, which avoids the risk of being packed when stacked Objects will be damaged if the reinforcements slip together.
- one and the same packaging can be used for objects of different sizes by using the pair of folding grooves suitable for the dimensions of the objects to be packed in order to form a side surface of the packaging.
- the packaging is part of an endless web, which is advantageous in terms of production, transport and storage.
- the packaging according to claim 18 is a formatted blank, which is provided in rolled or flat form.
- the folding grooves and the reinforcements can be provided when producing the blank.
- the packaging according to claim 19 has reinforced areas on all sides, stable tabs and an integrated stiffening frame.
- the single-sided corrugated cardboard is only present in the less contaminated remaining area.
- 1 is either an endless, rollable or rolled web B or a formatted blank Z. However, it is also conceivable to use one-sided corrugated cardboard W in which the corrugated crests do not run in a straight line but in a corrugated manner in the surface (indicated at 6 ′′ in FIG. 12).
- Parallel folding grooves 8, which belong together in pairs, are formed parallel to the edges 1, 2, either from the corrugated side 5 and / or from the smooth side 7.
- the strip-shaped surface area defined between a pair of folding grooves 8 is covered on the corrugated side 5 by a flat reinforcement 9, which is glued at least on the corrugation crests 6 'and extends between the edges 3, 4.
- the reinforcement is, for example, a paper, cardboard, plastic, fabric or non-woven strip, which should expediently be able to roll similarly to single-sided corrugated cardboard W.
- a packaging V formed from the packaging material M from FIG. 1 has a lower bottom region 10, in which the shafts 6 are exposed on the inside.
- Strip-shaped sides 11 are folded approximately at right angles and stiffened by the internal reinforcements 9.
- upper flaps 12 are folded inwards, which abut or even overlap with the edges 1, 2 and are connected to one another by an adhesive tape or the like (not shown).
- the packaging V is open at the ends. But it would also be conceivable to provide final end flaps here. that close the openings.
- the packaging V is stack pressure-resistant in the area of the pages 11.
- the sides are flat. The side edges are clean and straight.
- the packaging material M according to FIG. 3 is used to produce, for example, a rectangular folding box packaging V according to FIG. 4.
- the packaging material M can be cut off from an endless web B (indicated by dashed lines) or be a formatted blank Z.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to packaging material according to the preamble of
Gewicht richten. In practice it is known to wrap door leaves at the manufacturer in blanks from packaging material which consists of normal corrugated cardboard with a corrugated core layer and flat cover layers on both sides. The blank is provided with molded folding grooves to fold the packaging material around the door leaf in such a way that the sensitive, narrow longitudinal edge areas with their folds and any fittings are protected and clean, flat and straight narrow sides are created in the packaging. This packaging material is expensive because the operating costs of a corrugated cardboard manufacturing machine for normal corrugated cardboard are high, because cutting is a time-consuming operation in expensive machines, and because the disposal costs of the packaging material are high because they depend on the volume or weight.
A method and apparatus for making packaging blanks from normal, i.e. Corrugated cardboard with flat cover layers on both sides are known from EP 0 541 953.
Up to now, plate-shaped objects have often been packed in corrugated cardboard on one side, ie in corrugated cardboard with only one flat top layer and one corrugated layer. This packaging material can be easily removed from a roll and cut to the appropriate length. The roll width corresponds approximately to the height of the item to be packed. The section length corresponds to the circumferential winding of the object. The packaging material is inexpensive because the operating costs of a corrugated cardboard manufacturing machine for single-sided corrugated cardboard are only a fraction of the operating costs of the normal corrugated cardboard manufacturing machine, since the formation of blanks is eliminated can, and since the volume or weight to be disposed of is considerably lower. However, in such packaging, for example, the sensitive longitudinal edge area of a door leaf is only insufficiently protected, because if the corrugation runs in the direction of the longitudinal edge area, the stack-dent compressive strength and the crush resistance of the corrugated cardboard are low there. In addition, there is a rounded course of the single-sided corrugated cardboard, which gives an unsightly and improvised visual impression when the door leaves are stacked one on top of the other, packed in this way, despite the internal corrugation. Packaging for single-sided corrugated cardboard that looks like the lid of normal boxes and in which the objects are placed is also used for bottles or other fragile items, whereby they may be stacked on top of each other in groups. However, the dimensional stability of the packaging is low and little strength can be achieved laterally and in the vertical direction of the packaging sides.
Methods and devices for producing blanks from corrugated cardboard on one side for packaging are known from CH-PS 407 723 and DE-GM 19 10 354, folding grooves being embossed or incised transversely to the direction of the corrugation.
The invention has for its object to provide a packaging material or a packaging made of single-sided corrugated cardboard which, despite similarly good usage properties as normal corrugated cardboard, is less expensive than packaging material or packaging made from normal corrugated cardboard, with the aim being to pack objects in a well-protected manner to be able to.
The object is achieved according to the invention with the packaging material with the features of
Gewicht, was die Entsorgungskosten senkt. One-sided corrugated cardboard can be produced inexpensively and - which is not possible with normal corrugated cardboard - can be processed from a roll. In the strip-shaped surface areas, which are defined by the folding grooves, the one-sided corrugated cardboard is so stiffened by the reinforcement that it has at least the same usage properties as normal corrugated cardboard. When folded, stack-proof pages are created in the packaging that are straight and level, which, despite the folding grooves, cannot be achieved without corrugated cardboard on one side without reinforcement. In the areas where the reinforcement is glued on, the packaging material is tear-resistant and pressure-stable. In the other areas, which are not covered by the reinforcement, the packaging material is unfinished. However, this results in a drastic saving in volume and weight for the disposal and transport of packaged items, which lowers the disposal costs. Printing on packaging material is extremely expensive due to the large printing machines. However, printing costs can be saved and a good advertising and labeling, decorating or identification effect is achieved by means of the reinforcements on the outside with the corrugated side, if only the reinforcements are printed, which can be done in small printing machines before they are attached.
The packaging has practically the same properties for packaging plate-shaped objects as the expensive packaging made of normal corrugated cardboard, because the reinforcement is effective in the dent-resistant areas, where clean and flat and dent-resistant side surfaces are used, which also contributes to the formation of clean folded edges. The external appearance of the packaging corresponds to that of normal corrugated cardboard packaging, in particular the areas stiffened by the reinforcements. Like the folding grooves, each reinforcement can already be attached when the single-sided corrugated cardboard is manufactured. If formatted blanks are formed from the single-sided corrugated cardboard, the reinforcements and, if applicable, the folding grooves can also only be attached when the blank is being produced.
In the embodiment according to
Die Armierung ist beispielsweise ein Papier-, Karton-, Kunststoff-, Gewebe- oder Vliesstreifen, der zweckmäßigerweise ähnlich rollfähig sein sollte wie einseitige Wellpappe W.1 is either an endless, rollable or rolled web B or a formatted blank Z. It consists of single-sided corrugated cardboard W of any type with a flat top layer D (FIG. 10) and a laminated corrugated layer K. Im Blank Z,
In FIG. 2, a packaging V formed from the packaging material M from FIG. 1 has a
The packaging material M according to FIG. 3 is used to produce, for example, a rectangular folding box packaging V according to FIG. 4. Objects T1 and T2 are door leaves with
The door leaves T1 and T2 differ in width. Both types can be packed with the packaging material M of FIG. 5. The upper door leaf T1 is packed in the upper packaging V, in which the
The packaging material M according to FIG. 7 serves to produce two packages V according to FIG. 8 for door leaves T1 and T2, which are not only of different widths but also of different thicknesses. For this purpose, the
The packaging material or the packaging according to FIGS. 5, 7 and 8 can also be provided with further reinforcements in order to create suitable packaging for more than two differently sized door leaves with a basic shape.
Fig. 9 shows a packaging blank Z, in which each reinforcement 9 'is so wide that it extends over several pairs of
In the aforementioned embodiments, the reinforcement covers the strip-shaped surface area between the folding grooves. However, it is also conceivable to arrange the reinforcement slightly beyond the folding grooves (indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 12 at 9 ″). The reinforcement can only extend over a portion of the strip-shaped surface area on the corrugated side.
Fig. 9 in der Ebene X-X. Die zugehörigen Fig. 11A, B und C verdeutlichen Schnitte in der Ebene XI-XI der Fig. 10 für verschiedene Ausführungsvarianten.FIG. 10 illustrates a section through the packaging material from FIG. 1 or FIG. 9 in the plane X-X. The one-sided corrugated cardboard W according to FIG. 10 consists of a flat layer D onto which a corrugated layer K is laminated. The one-sided corrugated cardboard W is produced in a corrugated cardboard machine, the direction of production in FIG. 10 being from left to right and the crests of the
According to FIG. 11A, the

The packaging according to FIG. 12 is a square blank made of one-sided corrugated cardboard W with
The
