- the changeover signal is formed when the engine temperature and the intake air temperature above predetermined Limit values lie and - in the simplest case - the motor for a predetermined time at a speed above one Limit speed is operated. It is a preferred Embodiment the time the engine is below the limit speed is operated, taken into account and so as a supplementary criterion, the oil cools down when the temperature falls below the limit speed by subtracting this time.
- the counting means 64 is initialized, preferably to the Value 0 set. If the actual speed exceeds that in the Threshold value 56 predetermined limit value (e.g. 4000 Rev./min), the counting value of the counting means becomes regular Time intervals (e.g. 10 sec) incremented, preferably increased by 1. If the actual speed falls below that in the Threshold value 58 predetermined limit value, which is preferably with the limit value specified in the threshold value stage 56 is identical, the count value of the counting means 64 in decremented at regular intervals (e.g. 10 sec), preferably decreased by 1.
- the Threshold value 56 predetermined limit value e.g. 4000 Rev./min
- the counting value of the counting means becomes regular Time intervals (e.g. 10 sec) incremented, preferably increased by 1. If the actual speed falls below that in the Threshold value 58 predetermined limit value, which is preferably with the limit value specified in the threshold value stage 56 is identical, the count value of the counting means 64 in decremented at regular interval
- the count Z thus formed becomes delivered via line 70 and at predetermined times permanently stored in storage element 110.
- the count value Z is a measure of one of the Engine speed depending on the duration of the engine load. The length of time is determined from the time for which the speed is predetermined Has exceeded threshold values, reduced by the Time for which the machine was operating below the limit becomes. So it represents a measure of the time for which the engine is operated at high speed. To be noted is that the count value is at a minimum and maximum value is limited.
- Exceed all three farm sizes the predefined threshold value is generated by the logical one AND gate 82 a corresponding element 88 setting signal via line 64. Changes accordingly element 88 has its output signal level on line 102 and leads to the switching of the switching means 40.
- the operating state Hot idling is therefore recognized when the engine temperature, the intake air temperature predetermined Threshold values exceed as well as the speed for a certain Time was above a threshold.
- Words is the length of time for which the speed is above the limit speed, compared to a threshold, which depend on the history of the temporal speed curve is.
- Examples of the limit values in one exemplary embodiment are 4800 rpm for the speed, 100 ° C for the engine, 60 ° C for the intake air temperature.

- cooling water temperature Tmot, engine speed Nest and intake air temperature TANS read and in the subsequent query step 206 asked whether the Actual engine speed exceeded a predetermined threshold value N0 Has.
- step 208 the Counter incremented, i.e. increased by 1, and possibly in subsequent step 210 is limited to its maximum value Zmax. If the engine speed is less than or equal to the specified one Threshold value N0, the counter is decremented in step 212, that is, the count value Z decreased by 1 and im subsequent step 214, if necessary, to the minimum value Zmin limited. It is then checked in query step 216 whether the cooling water temperature exceeded a threshold Tmot0 the intake air temperature has a threshold value TANS0 has exceeded and the counter value is greater than a counter threshold value Z0 is. All of these conditions lie simultaneously before, in step 218 a mark for the operating state of the hot idling set.
- step 218 the idle speed control means that the idle speed setpoint NSet by the one specified for this operating state Setpoint Nset hot is replaced.
- step 218 the present counter value is permanently stored in step 220 and the program part ends.
- step 216 found that the three conditions are not simultaneous are present, it is checked in query step 222 whether the Cooling water temperature less than a threshold (Tmot0 - deltal) or the intake air temperature is less than one Threshold (TANS0 - delta2) or the count Z less than is a predetermined threshold (Z0 - delta3). Is this not the case, the current operating status of the Nothing changed in the internal combustion engine, so that with step 220 and the storage of the count value Z is continued.
- Tmot0 - deltal a threshold
- TANS0 - delta2 Threshold
- Z0 - delta3 a predetermined threshold
- step 224 leaving the operating state becomes hot idling or the normal operating status of the idle control recognized and the hot idling mark changed accordingly or kept at their previous value. This leads to the program the idle speed control to that of operating variables dependent idle speed setpoint NSet the Regulation is taken as a basis. After step 224 the Count value saved and the program part ended.
- the operating state Hot idling is detected when the engine temperature and the intake air temperature and the length of time for which the Speed was above a limit speed, in each case exceed predetermined threshold values.
- the operating status Hot idling is not recognized or considered abandoned, if the engine temperature or the intake air temperature or the time period below predetermined threshold values lie.
- Hot idle is recognized if, for example in the presence of the other conditions, the Speed is above the threshold for a long time a hysteresis is provided for the threshold values avoid constant switching.

Description
The invention relates to a method and a device for idle adjustment of an internal combustion engine.
If an internal combustion engine is in full load for a long time operated and then braked to idle, there is a risk that the internal combustion engine will overheat, if the normally set idle speed is kept unchanged. It occurs as a result of then prevailing high oil temperatures a too low oil pressure on.
bzw. Kühlmitteltemperatur der Brennkraftmaschine abhängig
vorzugeben, daß oberhalb einer vorbestimmten Motor- bzw.
Kühlmitteltemperatur, im sogenannten Heißleerlauf, die Drehzahl
erhöht ist. Dadurch wird die Kühlwirkung verstärkt. To avoid this and similar unwanted situations
is known from
From DE 40 16 099 A1 it is known for idle adjustment use the oil temperature in the normal operating range. To save an oil temperature sensor, the oil temperature determined from other sizes. For this purpose the Determines the time period during which the coolant temperature is equal to or greater than a temperature threshold. By a predetermined relationship between that period and the oil temperature is a measure of the oil temperature and set the idle speed accordingly. Activities, which in connection with the so-called hot idling will not notice the impending drop in oil pressure described.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide measures which allow the idle speed to be increased when the operating state of the so-called hot idling is reached is in which a low oil pressure threatens to occur.
This is due to the features of the independent claims reached.
The operating state can be achieved by the procedure according to the invention Hot idling can be mastered satisfactorily. The procedure according to the invention enables a Increase the idle speed if the oil pressure is too low are threatening. It is particularly advantageous that the invention Procedure of exceeding an oil temperature threshold shows above which the oil pressure is too low threatens to occur without an oil temperature sensor is used..
For the rise in oil temperature is the time that the engine is operated at high speeds, essential advantageously exceeding the oil temperature threshold on the basis of one formed from the speed Time span, engine temperature and intake air temperature estimated.
It is particularly advantageous when determining this Time span the time for which the motor runs at a speed is operated above a limit speed. It is advantageous to take into account the time for which the engine with a speed below a limit speed is operated.
A major advantage is that the simulation of the Oil temperature no cables and pins provided on the control unit must also be no evaluation circuits and Evaluation programs for the oil temperature sensor signal in the Engine control unit are necessary.
Further advantages result from the description below an embodiment and from the dependent Claims.
64 geladen.Figure 1 shows a
Im Normalbetrieb der in Figur 1 dargestellten Steuervorrichtung
bildet die Sollwertbildungseinheit 36 abhängig von den
zugeführten Betriebsgrößen wie Getriebestellung, Batteriespannung,
etc. sowie Betriebsgrößen wie Motordrehzahl, Kühlwassertemperatur
und Ansauglufttemperatur einen Leerlaufdrehzahlsollwert
NSoll, welcher von der Reglereinheit, beispielsweise
einem PID-Regler, unter Vergleich mit der Istdrehzahl
durch Betätigen des Stellelements 14 eingestellt
wird. Im sogenannten Heißleerlauf wird das Schaltmittel 40
unter nachfolgend beschriebenen Bedingungen in die
strichliert dargestellte Position geschaltet und die Leerlaufdrehzahl
auf der Basis des für diesen Betriebszustand
vorgesehenen Sollwertes eingestellt. In normal operation of the control device shown in Figure 1

Switching over to the speed setpoint in Normal operation, higher setpoint in hot idle occurs when the oil pressure drops to low Values looming. This is recognized when the oil temperature rises calculated over a predetermined threshold becomes. The changeover signal is formed when the engine temperature and the intake air temperature above predetermined Limit values lie and - in the simplest case - the motor for a predetermined time at a speed above one Limit speed is operated. It is a preferred Embodiment the time the engine is below the limit speed is operated, taken into account and so as a supplementary criterion, the oil cools down when the temperature falls below the limit speed by subtracting this time.
Wenn die Steuereinheit 10 erstmalig nach Unterbrechen der
Stromversorgung in Betrieb genommen wird (sog. Urstart),
wird das Zählmittel 64 initialisiert, vorzugsweise auf den
Wert 0 gesetzt. Überschreitet die Istdrehzahl den in der
Schwellwertstufe 56 vorgegebenen Grenzwert (z.B. 4000
64 geladen. Es wird also immer vom gespeicherten Zählwert
ausgegangen.
If the
Signal abgegeben.
In the
It should be mentioned that the counting range of the counting means
64 is limited by maximum and minimum values and that a
Set the operating state hot idling only outside the
Start phases can be made. The
If the operating variables shown below the cooling water temperature,
Intake air temperature and count value in the
In addition to the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the Those skilled in the art can also use the procedure according to the invention with others Realize switching elements and the desired function gain.

Zählwert gespeichert und der Programmteil beendet.FIG. 2 shows a flow chart of the procedure according to the invention

It is advantageous to readjust the idle speed setpoint Nsetpoint leaving the operating state hot idling only in next idle cycle so that the driver in noticed no speed change in an idle cycle.
In summary it can be stated that the operating state Hot idling is detected when the engine temperature and the intake air temperature and the length of time for which the Speed was above a limit speed, in each case exceed predetermined threshold values. The operating status Hot idling is not recognized or considered abandoned, if the engine temperature or the intake air temperature or the time period below predetermined threshold values lie. Hot idle is recognized if, for example in the presence of the other conditions, the Speed is above the threshold for a long time a hysteresis is provided for the threshold values avoid constant switching.
Claims (11)
- Method for setting the idling of an internal combustion engine, the idling rotational speed being increased when the internal combustion engine is hot, characterized in that the operating state of the hot internal combustion engine is deemed to be reached when an oil-temperature threshold at which the oil pressure may become too low is exceeded.
- Method according to Claim 1, characterized in that it is assumed that the oil-temperature threshold is exceeded when the engine temperature, the intake-air temperature and the duration for which the engine has been operated at an engine rotational speed above a limiting rotational speed exceed predetermined limit values.
- Method according to Claim 2, characterized in that the duration for which the rotational speed is below the limiting rotational speed is subtracted from the duration for which the engine has been operated at an engine rotational speed above a limiting rotational speed, so that the oil cools.

- Method according to Claims 2, 3 or 4, characterized in that the operating state with a hot internal combustion engine is deemed not to be reached or to be left when the engine temperature or the intake-air temperature or the duration for which the rotational speed limit value or the count is exceeded fall below predetermined threshold values.
- Method according to Claim 4, characterized in that the count is intermediately stored permanently, and, after the start of the internal combustion engine, the intermediately stored count is taken as the starting-point.
- Method according to Claim 4, characterized in that, when the control unit is commissioned or when the power supply is put into operation after terminal disconnection, the count is set at a predetermined value, preferably 0.
- Method according to Claim 1, characterized in that, in the idling state, when the operating state with a hot internal combustion engine is detected, the idling rotational speed is increased and, when the operating state is left, the rotational speed is lowered.
- Method according to Claim 9, characterized in that the rotational speed is lowered in the next idling cycle.
- Device for setting the idling of an internal combustion engine, with a control unit which increases the idling rotational speed when the internal combustion engine is hot, characterized in that means are provided which assume that the operating state with a hot internal combustion engine is reached when an oil-temperature threshold in which the oil pressure may become too low is exceeded.
