Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for taking back empty hollow bodies, such as cups or the like, with the devices checking the hollow bodies introduced into the device via an input opening, and to a method for taking back empty hollow bodies, such as cups or the like.
- the invention relates to a device for taking back, collecting and sorting objects in the form of beverage cups and for depositing such drinks cups.
- the cup return machine is provided with a cup insertion space with a transfer device with a guide cylinder which is open at the top and bottom and over which the cup with the opening facing downward falls into a stacking shaft. After stacking, the cups are ejected laterally into a collecting room.
- the guide cylinder is provided with a catch element, which first holds the cup for testing and then releases it for the stacking shaft.
- the guide cylinder is also equipped with a sensor that checks the identification of the cup. The cup can only be released for falling into the stacking shaft if the cup is correctly aligned with the opening facing downwards.
- the sensor is a reflex light barrier, the measurement results of which are evaluated with regard to the identifier by a signal processing circuit.
- a light barrier is arranged on the outside in the upper end region of the stacking shaft, by means of which the falling into the stacking shaft is registered when the barrier passes.
- the signal is output for a longer period of time when the shaft is full, the cups are ejected into a cup collecting space.
- the cups must be provided with a special identification, for example in the form of a bar code, in order to be taken back. Such labeling of the cup is very expensive.
- the contamination of the cup is not checked, so that the cup return machine can develop into a breeding ground for mold, etc.
- the object of the invention is therefore to create a generic device and a method, with which hollow bodies can also be taken back without special labeling, but at the same time it can be reliably ensured that only hollow bodies are taken back for which the operator of the device has previously made a deposit and which does not exceed a certain degree of contamination.
- the above-mentioned object is achieved in a device of the type mentioned at the beginning by at least one video camera for viewing the exterior of the hollow body and at least one light point generated on the inside of the floor of the hollow body, the video camera having an electronic image evaluation unit controlling the return for evaluating the images received by the video camera and for comparison this is connected to stored images of hollow bodies approved for taking back, and a test room with a door which closes the input opening firmly after the hollow body has been introduced and with a cover or rear wall closing the test room on the rear side thereof while the door is open.
- the invention further provides in a generic method that a light spot is projected onto the inside of a bottom of the hollow body in a test chamber closed to the outside, that flat images are taken from the outside and inside, and that the taken pictures are compared with specified test images and that only those hollow bodies are accepted for return which have been emptied and which have been identified in their nature as permissible for return.
- the device according to the invention uses a video camera in the actual sense, that is to say an area camera that generates a two-dimensional image, with image processing.
- This allows the identification of the hollow body according to any external features, such as. B. the embossing of the base or the corrugation of the side wall of cups.
- a special expensive marking of the hollow body e.g. in the form of barcodes or similar as in particular in the prior art, is not necessary.
- the interior of the hollow bodies can also be checked simply by storing the image of a light spot generated on the inner hollow body floor as a reference. In the case of dirty hollow bodies, the position and / or brightness of the light point will change.
- Another advantage is that the video camera or image processing can perform a number of other functions, which will be explained below.
- an extremely preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention provides a mirror with which the image of the light point generated with a first light source on the hollow body floor while simultaneously viewing the outer hollow body floor and / or the outer side wall of the hollow body by the video camera is mirrored on the video camera.
- the video camera and an associated evaluation electronics and software in the image evaluation unit can take on further tasks, so that other switching elements such as limit switches, position sensors or light barriers for the sequence control can be omitted.
- the rear wall of the test space is preferably fixed on a shaft and can be swung open and closed by means of a motor via a belt drive. In this way it is possible to fix the rear wall in any position between complete release of the test room and complete closure of the test room. Accordingly, the hollow body bottom and / or the side wall of the hollow body can then be viewed in a simple manner by means of the video camera with the rear wall partially opened, for example.
- the door of the input opening and the rear wall of the test room can preferably be locked alternately. Accordingly, the rear wall covers the further interior of the housing when the door of the input opening is open, so that direct insertion of the hollow body with the door of the input opening is not possible.
- the door and rear wall can be locked alternately. It is hereby achieved that the test room containing the test devices, such as in particular the camera, is constantly closed and thus manipulations are excluded. A levy of Hollow body in a recording room is only possible when the door of the input opening is closed. A hollow body rejected by the device after testing can be removed again through the open door with the rear wall closed.
- the position detection and / or the positioning of the rear wall and the door of the input opening can advantageously be carried out, for example, by means of the video camera.
- the maximum stack height can also be recorded by the video camera, in that the upper region of the stack tube is either at least partially transparent or else the stack tube is so short that the hollow bodies protrude beyond the upper edge of the stack tube at maximum stack height.
- the ejection of the hollow bodies into the stacking tubes for the free and issue of the deposit can be registered by the video camera.
- a first video camera is provided for viewing the side wall and / or the bottom of the hollow body and a second video camera for viewing the interior of the hollow body.
- a separate video camera is used in each case for viewing the hollow body bottom, the side wall of the hollow body and the interior of the hollow body. The same is possible for monitoring the incidence of hollow bodies in the stacking tube.
- the video cameras can each have their own electronic image evaluation unit with their own evaluation electronics or software, but at least two video cameras can also be connected to a common electronic image evaluation unit.
- it can further be provided that different hollow bodies are taken back and collected in a sorted manner and that a deposit is refunded for withdrawn hollow bodies. According to a further development, tolerance limits for the acceptance acceptance of contaminated or incompletely emptied hollow bodies are provided.
- the device according to the invention has a cuboid housing 1.
- This has an input opening 3 in a front wall 2, which is opened by a sliding door 4 can be opened and closed.
- Behind the door 4 there is a receiving and testing space 6 in the housing 1 for the objects 7 to be tested, which in the exemplary embodiment shown are beverage cups.
- the beverage cup 7 lies obliquely in FIG. 1 in the test room 6 with its cup bottom 19 on a rear wall 29 of the test room 6.
- the rear wall 29 of the test room 6 is fastened on a shaft 37 and is swung open or closed by a motor 35 via a belt drive 36.
- a sorting device 8 is located centrally in the housing 1, with stacking tubes 9 arranged in the form of a carousel, which can be rotated about the central axis A by a motor 11 via a belt drive 12.
- the device according to the invention has a plurality of stacking tubes 9 arranged in a carousel-like manner.
- all stacking tubes 9 can be provided for accepting the same or different beverage cups 7; It is therefore possible to take back different beverage cups 7 with the device according to the invention and to feed and sort them according to type, shape, color, material or other criteria to different stacking tubes 9.
- a coin dispenser 15 On the front 2 of the housing 1 there is also a coin dispenser 15, from which coins are issued as deposit refunds when the cup is successfully returned.
- Any liquid leaking from the beverage cups 7 is collected in a collecting trough 32 arranged on the front wall 2 below the test space 6 and fed via a hose or pipe 33 to a collecting container 34 below the receiving bags 13.
- the door 4 is closed in FIG. 2.
- a light source 16 preferably in the form of a light-emitting diode, which can be moved upwards when the door 4 is closed.
- door 4 is locked (not shown).
- the beverage cup 7 introduced into the test space 6 lies obliquely in this with its cup base 19 on the rear wall 29.
- the rear wall 29 covers the further interior of the housing 1, in particular the stacking tubes 9, so that it is not possible to insert the beverage cup 7 directly into the stacking tubes 9 when the door 4 is open.
- At least one light spot is generated with the light source 16 on the inner cup base 19 of the beverage cup 7 lying obliquely in the test space 6 with the opening facing upwards, the light beam from the light source 16 being reflected at an acute angle to that via a mirror 22 from the cup base 19 to the camera 14
- Light beam runs between mirror 22 and cup base 19.
- the video camera 14 receives, via the mirror 22, the image of the light point on the inner cup bottom 19. If there are wastes inside the beverage cup 7, such as cigarette ash, residual liquid, handkerchiefs or the like, see this the video camera 14 does not or does not have the light spot in the expected position and / or does not have the expected brightness or does not have the expected form.
- the position and the shape of the light point generated by the light source 16 change.
- at least the position of the light point will change.
- the shape of the light spot can also change, and it can also become invisible to video camera 14.
- the brightness of the light spot generated can also change.
- the brightness of the light spot generated can increase or decrease.
- Corresponding evaluation software in the image evaluation unit can allow the operator of the device to allow tolerances for deviations from the expected image of the light spot generated, so that slightly contaminated beverage cups can also be taken back.
- the test process is terminated, the door 4 is unlocked and opens automatically by gravity in the embodiment shown.
- FIG. 3 shows, like FIG. 2, the receiving area and thus the test space 6 for the beverage cup 7 to be taken back, but during the next test program step.
- the specially shaped rear wall 29 of the test room 6 is partially opened such that the video camera 14 can view the cup bottom 19 and / or the side wall 31 of the beverage cup 7 from the outside.
- the retaining tongue 18 is connected to the rear wall 29.
- the lighting sources provided for testing the cup bottom 19 and / or side wall 31 for the area lighting of these cup areas are not shown in the figures.
- the video camera 14 can recognize imprints, embossings or the like on the outside of the cup base 19 and / or the side wall 31 and thus determine whether it is a permissible, i.e. Beverage cup to be taken back, for which the operator of the device has previously charged a deposit, or is an impermissible beverage cup.
- the image of the hollow body outer surfaces of the beverage cup 7 received by the video camera 14 is compared via the image evaluation unit with stored images of beverage cups approved for taking back, so that the beverage cups can be taken back even without special identification. If the beverage cup 7 is not permitted, the return is refused and the test program is terminated.
- the rear wall 29 of the test room 6 is completely closed again before the locking of the door 4 is released and thus the door 4 opens. The user can remove the beverage cup 7 from the test room 6. Since the rear wall 29 of the test chamber 6 is closed, the cup 7 cannot be conveyed manually into the stacking tube 9 either. Manipulation of the return device is therefore not possible.
- the associated stacking tube 9 is rotated, for example by means of positioning switches, to the dropout opening of the test space 6. Then the rear wall 29 of the test room 6 is completely opened. At the same time, an ejection mechanism (not shown) sets in, through which the beverage cup 7 is pushed up several times from the support. This ensures that even with a dirty, sticky pad or externally sticky beverage cup 7, this is safely ejected into the stacking tube 9.
- This next program step is shown in FIG.
- the rear wall 29 of the test chamber 6 is completely open, and the beverage cup 7 falls into the stack tube 9 which has been correctly positioned beforehand.
- the video camera 14 detects the case of the beverage cup 7 by means of an advantageous backlighting, not shown, whereupon the deposit provided on the coin dispenser 15 is issued comes and the rear wall 29 is completely closed. Subsequently, the locking of the door 4 is released, the door 4 opens and the device is ready to take back another beverage cup 7.
- the stacking tubes 9 are provided with appropriate markings, instead of using position switches with the help of the video camera 14, they can be positioned in the receiving bags 13 both for the cup acceptance and for the emptying.
- the upper edge of the stacking tubes 9 is provided with transparent wall areas and the image of these transparent wall areas is for the camera 14 continuously interrupted, the stack tube is full and must be emptied. It is then rotated through the opening of a receiving bag 13 assigned to it. A holding member 28, which prevents the beverage cups 7 from falling through, is then withdrawn or pivoted away. The beverage cups 7 can fall into the receiving bag 13. The holding member 28 is then brought back into the holding position. The same applies if the upper edge of the stacking tubes 9 is below the camera 14 and the resulting image for the camera 14 is continuously interrupted at the upper edge by stacked beverage cups 7.
- the closed position of the door 4 of the input opening 3 can also be detected by means of the video camera 14.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for taking back empty hollow bodies, such as cups or the like, with the devices checking the hollow bodies introduced into the device via an input opening, and to a method for taking back empty hollow bodies, such as cups or the like.
In particular, the invention relates to a device for taking back, collecting and sorting objects in the form of beverage cups and for depositing such drinks cups.
From DE-PS 41 26 260 a cup return machine with deposit return for cups provided with an identifier is known. The cup return machine is provided with a cup insertion space with a transfer device with a guide cylinder which is open at the top and bottom and over which the cup with the opening facing downward falls into a stacking shaft. After stacking, the cups are ejected laterally into a collecting room. The guide cylinder is provided with a catch element, which first holds the cup for testing and then releases it for the stacking shaft. The guide cylinder is also equipped with a sensor that checks the identification of the cup. The cup can only be released for falling into the stacking shaft if the cup is correctly aligned with the opening facing downwards. The sensor is a reflex light barrier, the measurement results of which are evaluated with regard to the identifier by a signal processing circuit. A light barrier is arranged on the outside in the upper end region of the stacking shaft, by means of which the falling into the stacking shaft is registered when the barrier passes. In addition, when the signal is output for a longer period of time when the shaft is full, the cups are ejected into a cup collecting space. A disadvantage of the device mentioned is that the cups must be provided with a special identification, for example in the form of a bar code, in order to be taken back. Such labeling of the cup is very expensive. In addition, the contamination of the cup is not checked, so that the cup return machine can develop into a breeding ground for mold, etc. in the case of food stuck to the cup, unless the machine is emptied accordingly frequently, but this increases the maintenance costs for such a cup return machine. In the known device it is also possible to manipulate the cup return from the outside, for example by pushing objects of a different type past the catch member into the stacking shaft.
The object of the invention is therefore to create a generic device and a method, with which hollow bodies can also be taken back without special labeling, but at the same time it can be reliably ensured that only hollow bodies are taken back for which the operator of the device has previously made a deposit and which does not exceed a certain degree of contamination.
According to the invention, the above-mentioned object is achieved in a device of the type mentioned at the beginning by at least one video camera for viewing the exterior of the hollow body and at least one light point generated on the inside of the floor of the hollow body, the video camera having an electronic image evaluation unit controlling the return for evaluating the images received by the video camera and for comparison this is connected to stored images of hollow bodies approved for taking back, and a test room with a door which closes the input opening firmly after the hollow body has been introduced and with a cover or rear wall closing the test room on the rear side thereof while the door is open.
To achieve the stated object, the invention further provides in a generic method that a light spot is projected onto the inside of a bottom of the hollow body in a test chamber closed to the outside, that flat images are taken from the outside and inside, and that the taken pictures are compared with specified test images and that only those hollow bodies are accepted for return which have been emptied and which have been identified in their nature as permissible for return.
The device according to the invention allows hollow bodies to be checked for their cleanliness and to be identified in terms of their type, so that it is ensured that the return of the hollow bodies and deposit refunds only take place if the type and soiling is a hollow body which is intended for return. Furthermore, it is prevented that objects of any other kind cannot enter the interior of the device, either intentionally or unintentionally.
A major advantage is that the device according to the invention uses a video camera in the actual sense, that is to say an area camera that generates a two-dimensional image, with image processing. This allows the identification of the hollow body according to any external features, such as. B. the embossing of the base or the corrugation of the side wall of cups. A special expensive marking of the hollow body, e.g. in the form of barcodes or similar as in particular in the prior art, is not necessary. In addition, the interior of the hollow bodies can also be checked simply by storing the image of a light spot generated on the inner hollow body floor as a reference. In the case of dirty hollow bodies, the position and / or brightness of the light point will change.
Another advantage is that the video camera or image processing can perform a number of other functions, which will be explained below.
Although basically a mirror for reflecting the outer hollow body floor on the video camera while looking directly at the interior of the hollow body Can be provided by the video camera, an extremely preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention provides a mirror with which the image of the light point generated with a first light source on the hollow body floor while simultaneously viewing the outer hollow body floor and / or the outer side wall of the hollow body by the video camera is mirrored on the video camera. With this arrangement, the video camera and an associated evaluation electronics and software in the image evaluation unit can take on further tasks, so that other switching elements such as limit switches, position sensors or light barriers for the sequence control can be omitted.
The rear wall of the test space is preferably fixed on a shaft and can be swung open and closed by means of a motor via a belt drive. In this way it is possible to fix the rear wall in any position between complete release of the test room and complete closure of the test room. Accordingly, the hollow body bottom and / or the side wall of the hollow body can then be viewed in a simple manner by means of the video camera with the rear wall partially opened, for example. The door of the input opening and the rear wall of the test room can preferably be locked alternately. Accordingly, the rear wall covers the further interior of the housing when the door of the input opening is open, so that direct insertion of the hollow body with the door of the input opening is not possible. According to a preferred embodiment it is provided that the door and rear wall can be locked alternately. The position detection and / or the positioning of the rear wall and the door of the input opening can advantageously be carried out, for example, by means of the video camera.
To reduce the volume requirement of the withdrawn hollow bodies, the device according to the invention provides at least one stacking tube into which the hollow bodies are ejected from the test space and in which a plurality of hollow bodies are stacked one inside the other before this stack is ejected into an associated storage space below the stacking tube. The lower end of this stacking tube is closed by a retractable holding member to such an extent that the hollow bodies cannot simply fall through. Only when the desired stack height is reached is the holding member withdrawn and releases the ejection into the storage space. The number of hollow bodies to be stacked can be detected, for example, by means of counting pulses from corresponding evaluation electronics or software. The maximum stack height can also be recorded by the video camera, in that the upper region of the stack tube is either at least partially transparent or else the stack tube is so short that the hollow bodies protrude beyond the upper edge of the stack tube at maximum stack height. At the same time, the ejection of the hollow bodies into the stacking tubes for the free and issue of the deposit can be registered by the video camera.
In order not only to have hollow bodies of one type, but also, if necessary, to differ in type, size or material In order to be able to take up hollow bodies in a sorted manner or to increase the collecting capacity, it is provided in a further development that several stacking tubes are arranged on a carousel and at least one storage space is assigned to each stacking tube. The carousel or the stacking tubes can be positioned using the camera, for example. For this purpose, the stacking tubes are then provided with markings for identification.
In a further preferred embodiment it is provided that a first video camera is provided for viewing the side wall and / or the bottom of the hollow body and a second video camera for viewing the interior of the hollow body. However, it is also possible that a separate video camera is used in each case for viewing the hollow body bottom, the side wall of the hollow body and the interior of the hollow body. The same is possible for monitoring the incidence of hollow bodies in the stacking tube. For example, the video cameras can each have their own electronic image evaluation unit with their own evaluation electronics or software, but at least two video cameras can also be connected to a common electronic image evaluation unit. In a procedural embodiment, it can further be provided that different hollow bodies are taken back and collected in a sorted manner and that a deposit is refunded for withdrawn hollow bodies. According to a further development, tolerance limits for the acceptance acceptance of contaminated or incompletely emptied hollow bodies are provided.

The device according to the invention has a
Beneath the stacking
On the
Any liquid leaking from the beverage cups 7 is collected in a collecting
Fig. 2 zeigt vergrößert den Aufnahmebereich und damit den Prüfbereich 6 für den zurückzunehmenden Getränkebecher 7 einschließlich der optischen Strahlengänge, mit denen die Videokamera 14 die Kontrolle des Innenraumes des Getränkebechers 7 im Prüfraum 6 vornimmt.2 shows an enlarged view of the recording area and thus the
The
At least one light spot is generated with the

The
If the
This next program step is shown in FIG. The
If the case of the

If the stacking
For example, the upper edge of the stacking
