The object of the present invention is to obtain, from a folding painter's upholstery table and in particular from the constituent elements of the trays, another table whose length can be increased but above all whose working comfort and longevity of the product are very significantly improved.

These advantages are obtained by starting from two rectangular trays of identical dimensions, not only articulated with each other but also indented on one of the lateral flanks in order to receive, when the table is folded for its transport and storage, two removable length extensions then fixed. by snapping on the legs of said table.

These removable extensions not articulated on the end of the two trays, can therefore be added at will so as not to hinder the access of the operator all around the table when it is used without its extensions.

The other advantages of this table are also obtained by the constitution of the two trays and the two extensions which are each composed of a monobloc support panel injected in plastic material, the upper face of which has the shape of a bowl receiving a sheet of fixed plywood. by snap-fastening or gluing.

This arrangement makes it possible to preserve the advantages of wood as a material for the work surface (usually, the wood closes on the marks left by the cutter, offers a smooth but non-slippery surface for the paper and the possibility of using thumbtacks for fixing the rules to be signed) while protecting the edges of the fragile wooden plywood against transport shocks and while removing the sharp corners of the wooden plywood which tear fragile papers when they are unrolled on the table.

Another important point, in the event of mistreatment or intensive use of the worktop, used or deteriorated wood plywood sheets can be easily replaced after detaching or peeling off this plywood sheet.

The lower part of these plastic panels has a sufficiently large ribbing in order to obtain a very high rigidity and therefore a resistance to deformation which may result from the pressure exerted during the various working actions carried out on this same platform, namely : cutter cutting operation, glue coating operation using the brush.

Figure 1 shows the table in the folded position, the extensions embedded in the notches of the two trays.

La figure 2 représente vue de face la table dépliée en position de travail; les plateaux des rallonges en longueur étant supportés par les pieds.FIG. 2 represents a front view of the table unfolded in the working position; the trays of the lengthwise extensions being supported by the feet.

Figure 4 shows in perspective the unfolded table with a nested extension plate, the second being nested.

La figure 5 montre en coupe partielle un plateau constitué des deux éléments principaux : le plateau plastique et la feuille de contreplaqué boisFigure 5 shows in partial section a tray made up of two main elements: the plastic tray and the sheet of plywood

La figure 6 représente en vue de dessus un angle des plateaux ou des rallongesFigure 6 shows a top view of an angle of the trays or extensions

La figure 7 représente en coupe une rallongeFigure 7 shows in section an extension

Figure 10 shows in perspective the snap-fastening of a sheet of plywood on the plastic tray.

According to Figures 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7, the folding table to be upholstered consists of two rectangular monobloc trays of identical plastic dimensions (1) and (2) hinged together around a hinge (3) and supported by feet (7) and (7 '); these same feet being held apart by two stiffening compasses (8) joined by a grid (18) articulated in the middle and serving as a tool support shelf and rolls of paper stored thus within easy reach of the user. The plates (1) and (2) include notches (6) and (6 ') in which are housed, during folding, the extensions (4) and (4') supported and snapped onto the feet (7) and (7 ').

These extensions can be added to the trays (1) or (2) either according to the length of the desired worktop.

These same extensions (4) and (4 ') fit onto the plates (1) or (2) in the holes (10) provided on the side of the outer ends of said plates, thanks to retractable tubes (9).

These tubes (9) retract into the extension panels (4) or (4 ') when they are not in use and when they snap onto the feet (7) and (7').

Figures 5 and 10 which show in section the plastic trays (1) and (2), define their design and their composition each comprising a one-piece plastic panel (11) whose upper face is a bowl shape (14) intended to receive the sheet of plywood (12) held in the same bowl either by gluing or by snap-fastening.

Still according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the bowl (14) produced in the plastic tray (11) has a peripheral rim (13) which protects the edges of the plywood sheet (12) against the shocks often causing 'splinters and splinters on existing upholstery tables. The same peripheral rim (13) has rounded corners eliminating sharp edges and thereby any risk of deterioration of the wallpapers.

According to Figure 7 which shows in section an extension (4), the same provisions adopted on the plastic plates (1) and (2) exist, namely the constitution of a plastic panel (15) comprising a bowl in which comes accommodate a sheet of plywood (16), this also held by gluing or snapping. The peripheral rim (17) (whose angles are also rounded) of the bowl of the panel (15) protects against impact these same sheets of plywood (16).

According to views 3,5,6,8 and 9, the panels (11) of the plates (1) or (2) and the panels (15) of the extensions (4) and (4 ') comprise, on the lower face, ribs promoting high rigidity and resistance to bending.

On the other hand, the constitution of these plastic panels allows easy maintenance since the edges thereof, subject to traces of glue drips, can be very easily cleaned with a sponge.
