Definitions
- the present invention relates to a metal coin controller received in bulk, intended more particularly for coins or tokens, for example for automatic tolling on motorways or in car parks, but which could also be used for other uses, for example. example for sorting bearings or pinions.
- apparatuses are known in which the separation and control of the parts is carried out by means of a single non-metallic honeycomb disc.
- a single non-metallic honeycomb disc is poorly resistant to the mechanical stresses of the parts, so that it is most often necessary to use it at a reduced speed of rotation in order to reduce these stresses. The parts processing speed is therefore degraded.
- Apparatuses are also known, as described for example in French patent No. 2,542,475, which use two separate discs, namely a first metal toothed disc for separating the parts and a second non-metallic toothed disc for detection. This results in a longer processing time of the parts.
- apparatuses are also known, as described for example in French patent No. 2,633,079, essentially consisting of a single circular metallic toothed plate on its periphery. Such a metal plate disrupts the detection of coins, which requires electronic and computer processing to filter the measurements made. This results in errors in the recognition of parts.
- this arrangement makes it possible to use a different material for the two discs, namely, a metallic material for the internal disc, in order to resist shocks of the parts thrown in bulk, and a non-metallic material such as a plastic material for the external disc, so as not to disturb the detection of the parts.
- a low recycling device allowing, when two small parts are housed in the same cell of the external disc, to recycle the innermost part towards the internal disc , before it passes in front of the sensors, this recycling device being constituted by an appropriately shaped clearance formed in the parts sliding plate.
- a high recycling device making it possible to recycle any part located in a cell of the external disc, towards the internal disc, after its passage in front of the sensors, this high recycling device being constituted by a movable pallet located in the extension of the sliding plate and controlled by the part recognition device, this pallet being normally retracted in the rest position and having in the active position a guide edge bringing the part to be recycled to the internal disc.
- the device according to the invention also includes an automatic purge device, making it possible to lift the cover of the device in the event of a jam, in order to evacuate the parts or objects which have caused the jam to a restoring bowl.
- a device for displaying batches of accepted rooms comprising at least two different types of housing for these batches of rooms.
- This arrangement makes it possible, for example, to separate the tokens from the coins in order to orient them towards different safes.
- the display device comprises two housings of a first type interposed between two housings of a second type, which makes it possible to facilitate the subsequent processing of the accepted parts.
- the display device consists of a scraper with two diametrically opposite branches, surmounted by a transparent cover and rotating on an inclined circular plate situated substantially in the plane of the two concentric discs, a housing of the first type being arranged in each of the branches of the scraper, while the housing of the second type are constituted by the two sectors located on either side of the scraper.
- the display device comprises an evacuation orifice on the side for evacuating the parts being in the housings of the first type and at least one evacuation orifice formed in the bottom of the circular tray for evacuating the parts being in housing of the second type.
- two separate and contiguous discharge orifices are provided in the circular plate, which makes it possible to orient the pieces towards two different safes by simply changing the direction of rotation of the scraper.
- two switch hatches arranged after the movable pallet of the high recycling device, these switch hatches being controlled by the coin recognition device so as to orient parts accepted towards one or the other of the two types of housing of the display device and parts not accepted towards a restoring bowl.
- the metal parts controller represented in FIGS. 1 and 2 firstly comprises a chassis 1 constituting a plane inclined at approximately 45 ° relative to the horizontal and which is partially covered by a cover 2 connected to the chassis by a non-hinged shown located in the upper part. Under the cover 2 are arranged two discs concentric integral, namely an internal disc 3 and an external disc 4, which are rotated clockwise by means of a motor 5.
- the internal disc 3 also called disc for sorting or separating the pieces, receives the pieces thrown in bulk via a tube 6 fixed to the cover 2.
- This disc is preferably made of metal, in order to resist shocks parts, and comprises, for the separation of parts, a number of substantially radial edges 7, six in this example, regularly distributed at 60 ° from each other.
- the external disc 4 also called disc for detecting or recognizing the parts, is preferably made of a non-metallic material, for example an appropriate plastic material. It is provided on its periphery with six open cells 8 located in the extension of the six edges 7 of the internal disc 3. This external disc is in fact here made up of six fins attached to horizontal extensions 9 of the internal disc and thus providing between them the six cells 8.
- a semi-circular barrier 10, integral with the cover 2 is disposed at the limit of the separation between the internal disc 3 and the external disc 4, so as to cooperate with a groove 11 provided for this purpose at the extensions 9 of the internal disk.
- This barrier extends over approximately half the circumference of the internal disc and thus retains the parts to be separated in the lower part of the sorting disc.
- Each of the edges 7 of the sorting disc has a height such that only one piece can be driven at a time.
- a thickness limiting device also called a scraper, prevents the passage of the highest part (s) and pushes them towards the lower part of the sorting disc.
- this scraper is constituted by a rigid blade 14 movable in rotation and in translation around an axis 15 supported by the cover 2.
- This part recognition device here essentially consists of three sensors 16, for example electromagnetic sensors, arranged on the path of the parts and making it possible, in a manner known per se, to measure quantities linked in particular to the material, the diameter and the thickness of the pieces. Two of these sensors, located below, are incorporated into the sliding plate 13, while the third is fixed from above on a support 17 secured to the cover 2. The information provided by these three sensors is then processed in a microprocessor and compared stored parameters to determine whether it is an accepted part or a part which must be refused. It will be noted here that the electromagnetic detection of the parts is absolutely not disturbed by the presence of the external disc 3, because this disc is made of plastic.
- the parts controller according to the invention is equipped with a low recycling device consisting, as can be seen more clearly in FIG. 3, of a clearance 18 formed in the sliding plate 13.
- This clearance 18 constitutes, towards the outside, an edge 19 of particular shape making it possible to bring the part located most inside on the sorting disc.
- FIG. 4 The operation of the low recycling device is illustrated in FIG. 4.
- the part P1 is propelled first into a cell of the detection disc following a trajectory which does not pass over the clearance 18. It is therefore normally driven by this cell to the electromagnetic sensors 16.
- the part P2 located on more inside is propelled in the same cell of the detection disc according to a trajectory which cuts the edge 19 of the clearance 18. It is then pressed by gravity at the bottom of this clearance and forced to follow the direction imposed by the ridge 19, which brings it back automatically to the bottom of the sorting disc for further processing.
- the controller according to the invention is also equipped with a high recycling device making it possible to recycle the parts which, after passing in front of the sensors 16, would not have been recognized with sufficient certainty.
- This high recycling device is essentially constituted by a movable pallet 20 placed in the extension of the sliding plate 13 and comprising a guide edge 21.
- the pallet 20 is actuated by an electromagnet not shown, controlled by the device for recognizing parts and it is returned to the rest position by a spring also not shown.
- FIG. 5 The operation of this top recycling device is illustrated by FIG. 5 in which we see a part P3 which is driven along the circular edge 12 and on the sliding plate 13 by a cell of the external disc.
- the pallet 20 When the pallet 20 is in the rest position, it is placed in a plane sufficiently lower than the sliding track so that the trajectory of the part being treated is not modified.
- the pallet when the pallet is actuated by the electromagnet, it is placed at the same level as the sliding track and then has its guide edge 21 which modifies the natural trajectory of the part P3 by orienting it towards the inside on the sorting disc. It is thus possible to iron the same part several times in front of the different sensors 16, in order to increase the precision of the recognition of the parts.
- the controller according to the invention also comprises an automatic purge device, known per se, making it possible to lift the cover 2 by means of an electromagnet not shown. The parts or objects that caused the jam are then evacuated by gravity to a recovery bowl.
- the controller according to the invention is supplemented by a display device for batches of accepted coins, comprising several different housings for coins or tokens.
- This display device is essentially constituted by a scraper 22 with two diametrically opposite branches, mounted mobile in rotation on a circular plate 23 parallel to the chassis 1 and which is almost completely surrounded by an edge 24.
- the scraper is driven in rotation by means of a motor 25 and it is surmounted by a transparent cover 26.
- a housing 27 assigned for example to the tokens
- two other housings 28, assigned for example to coins are formed on either side of the scraper in the sectors delimited by the circular border 24.
- An orifice 29 is arranged in this circular border 24 to ensure the evacuation of the coins located in the housings 27.
- the parts located in the housings 28 they are evacuated by two contiguous orifices 30 and 31 arranged directly in the circular plate 23 at the upper part thereof.
- Two switch hatches are also provided to ensure the orientation of the accepted parts towards one of the housings 27 or one of the housings 28 of the display device.
- the first switch hatch making it possible to orient the parts towards one of the housings 27, is essentially constituted by an intermediate sliding plate 32 situated in the extension of the pallet 20 of the high recycling device, at a slightly lower level to that of the sliding plate 13. This intermediate sliding plate is crossed by a pallet 33.
- the second switch hatch making it possible to orient the parts towards one of the housings 28, is essentially constituted by an intermediate sliding plate 34 situated in the extension of the intermediate sliding plate 32, at a level slightly below the level of it.
- This intermediate sliding plate 34 is crossed by two pallets 35 and 36, integral with one another.
- Pallets 33 and 35-36 are actuated by means of electromagnets not shown, controlled by the device for recognizing the parts, and are returned to the rest position by springs also not shown. In the rest position, the pallet 33 is flush with the intermediate sliding plate 32, and the pallet 35 is flush with the intermediate sliding plate 34, while the pallet 36 protrudes and thus constitutes an obstacle for the parts.
- the two pallets 33 and 35 protrude in order to bar the passage to the pieces, while the pallet 36 protrudes even more and then discovers an opening allowing the passage of the pieces from below.
- FIG. 6 The operation of the first switch is illustrated in FIG. 6 in which a part P4 can be seen during processing.
- This piece P4 constituted for example by a token, is placed automatically by gravity on the intermediate sliding plate 32. It is then retained there by the pallet 33 in the active position which makes it barrier and forces it to go into the housing 27 of the display device which is at this instant facing the intermediate sliding plate 32.
- the parts thus introduced into the housing 27 are then removed, as illustrated in FIG. 7, after a rotation of a half-turn in one direction or the other of the scraper 22, through the orifice 29 provided for this purpose in the circular edge 24, towards a particular trunk which can advantageously be assigned specially to the tokens.
- FIG. 8 The operation of the second switch is illustrated in FIG. 8 in which a part P5 can be seen during processing.
- This piece P5, constituted for example by a coin, is automatically placed by gravity on the intermediate sliding plate 32, then on the intermediate sliding plate 34, following the erasure of the pallet 33 in the rest position .
- the pallet 35 is in the active position, under the action of its electromagnet controlled by the part recognition device, and thus blocks the part being processed.
- the part P5 is deflected towards the pallet 36 which then has an opening allowing the passage of the part towards the housing 28 of the display device which is at this instant located at the level of said pallet 36.
- the transparent cover 26 the operator, as well as the user, can view the batch of parts thus formed in the housing 28, which makes it possible to resolve any disputes.
- the batch of coins P5 corresponding to this payment is evacuated either through the orifice 30 towards a first trunk, by virtue of a rotation of the scraper 22 clockwise, as illustrated in FIG. 9, either through the orifice 31 towards a second trunk, by virtue of a rotation of the scraper 22 anticlockwise, as illustrated in FIG. 10.
- This arrangement allows two trunks to be used at will. different coins, as needed.
- FIG. 11 illustrates the case of an unacceptable coin, for example a false coin, or more generally of a foreign object introduced into the apparatus by the inlet tube 6.
- the coin P6 n is not recognized by the parts recognition device when it passes in front of the detectors 16.
- the pallets 33 and 35-36 remain in the rest position.
- the part P6 therefore continues its trajectory on the intermediate sliding plates 32 and 34, trajectory possibly deflected by the pallet 36, and then automatically falls into a restoring bowl not shown provided for this purpose and which is accessible to the user.
- the parts controller according to the invention has a great flexibility of use, while having a high reliability and a high operating speed.
