Abstract

The pipe has an electrically insulated coil between the sections. Between the inner pipe (1) and outer pipe (2) is a hollow chamber (4) sealed at the ends and extending along the overlap distance. This contains the coil (5). One end (11) of the coil is fastened to the end of the inner pipe where it is overlapped by the outer pipe, and from there, a wire goes to a point (13) further down the pipe. The other end (17) of the coil is attached to the end of the hollow chamber on the outer pipe.

Description

The invention relates to a suction pipe according to the preamble of the first claim.

In a known suction pipe of this type (EP 0 433 774 A1), a multiply coiled electrical line surrounding the circumference is placed around the outer circumference of one of the telescopically displaceable pipes, the first end of which leads to a suction hose to be connected to the suction pipe and the second end of which is on the outside the jacket of the other pipe leads to a working tool attached to this pipe. The disadvantage of this structure is that the electrical line extends downwards in an uncontrolled manner due to its own weight and thereby lies closely against the respective jacket of the tube. This can hinder the free movement of the pipes. Special holding elements are therefore required to hold the electrical line.

The invention has for its object to take measures in a suction pipe according to the preamble of the first claim, through which a free mobility of the coiled portion of the electrical line is achieved.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing features of the first claim.

In the construction of an intake manifold according to the invention, a helical line produced with a helical diameter that is small compared to the tube diameter is introduced into a cavity between the outer tube and the inner tube, in which it is guided freely and only on the outer sides thereof on the inner sides of the cavity. One end of the helical line is fixed in the area of the end section of the inner tube, which ends in the outer tube. In contrast, the second end is held in the region of the end section of the outer tube, which overlaps the inner tube. When the two pipes are pushed together, the helical line is thus stretched, the effective twist diameter being reduced and the free mobility in the cavity being retained. In contrast, when the pipes are pulled apart in length, the helical line returns to its axially contracted starting position. Here, however, it is also possible to mechanically pretension the helical line in such a way that in the idle state it changes into an extended starting position and is compressed when the pipes are pulled out so that the individual turns come to lie close to one another. In order to seal the cavity provided for the accommodation of the helical line, a sliding tab can be provided on the end section of the inner tube, which tightly engages in a shape of the outer tube corresponding to the cavity and directed radially outwards and running in the longitudinal axis of the tube, as well as this inner end section of the inner tube on it rest of the circumference sealingly against the inner jacket of the outer tube. The end portion of the outer tube which surrounds the inner tube also lies sealingly on the outer circumference of the inner tube, the shape formed as a groove also being closed on the end face, so that also in this end section is an all-round seal between the pipes. The groove required to accommodate the helical cable can also be displaced as a radially inward indentation in the jacket of the inner tube. Then, in a similar manner, a sliding tab of the outer tube engages in this groove for sealing, if the sealing end in the area of the immersing end section of the inner tube is not sufficient. However, the cavity can also be represented by embossing on the inner tube as on the outer tube. If the ductility of the tube is not sufficient for the representation of the groove required in each case, then the outer tube can also be provided with a longitudinal slot, which is closed by means of a curved channel profile piece, which can be fixed in the area of the opening in the tube in question, for example by welding. However, it is also possible to fix the channel profile to the relevant slot walls by means of U-shaped side grooves. In this case, it is expedient to produce the profile piece from plastic, which serves as an electrical insulator with respect to the spiral line if the spiral line should suffer insulation damage during operation.

The spiral line is connected at its first end to an additional electrical line section, preferably connected in one piece, which leads from the overlapped end section of the inner tube on the inner tube into the region of the free end of the inner tube to a connection point provided there. From the second end of the helical line, another electrical line section, likewise preferably connected in one piece, leads to the free end of the outer tube and to a second connection point provided there. For the laying of the pipe sections, beads that are adapted to the inner tube can be pressed into the outer tube provide mechanical protection for these line sections. In this case, an inwardly embossed bead in the outer tube can accommodate the further line section and at the same time engage in an adapted longitudinal bead of the inner tube and thus serve as an anti-twist device between the two tubes.

Instead of circular windings, the helical line can also consist of flat and zigzag-shaped adjoining helical webs, which are curved in particular in accordance with the pipe curvature, so that the cavity can be made correspondingly low in the radial direction and the bead (s) can be made correspondingly flat . The representation of the cavity can then be accomplished with less deformation work on the pipe or pipes. In the area of the overlapping end section of the outer tube, a locking mechanism can be structurally combined with the outwardly directed part of the groove of the outer tube, so that a closed structure is achieved which can accommodate any necessary electrical connection connections between the helical line and the further line section.

The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of a schematic diagram of an exemplary embodiment.

Show it:
  • Fig. 1 is a telescopic tube with an integrated spiral line in a basic longitudinal section and
  • 2 shows a cross section through the arrangement according to FIG. 1 in the area of the helical line.

A telescopic suction pipe for vacuum cleaners, to which electrically operated additional devices are to be connected, has an inner pipe 1 and an outer pipe 2 with a larger diameter, the inner pipe 1 being axially displaceably mounted in the outer pipe 2 via interposed ring seals 3. Between the inner tube 1 and the outer tube 2, a cavity 4 is formed, in which a preferably two-wire electrical wire, which is wound in circular turns, is accommodated, the helical axis of which runs parallel to the tube longitudinal axis. The cavity 4 can be formed in the undeformed inner tube 1 by a radially outward, extending over the displacement of the inner tube and the length of the compressed spiral line 5, radially outward and embossed into the jacket of the outer tube 2, the cross section for the Recording of the helical line is sufficiently large so that the helical line 5 can be freely expanded and compressed therein. To seal the spiral line 5 accommodating cavity 4 with respect to the free interior of the outer tube, a radially engaging in the groove 6, possibly detachable sliding tab 8 is attached to the end section 7 of the inner tube overlapped by the outer tube 2, which provides a tight seal over the free displacement path within the groove 6 ensures. The groove 6, which is designed as a shape of the outer tube 2, is closed at the end section 9, which overlaps the inner tube 1, by an adapted, possibly removable end wall 10 and, like the rest of the end section, is largely dust and airtight with respect to the outer jacket of the inner tube 1.

A first end 11 of the helical line 5 is connected via clamping or soldering pieces, but preferably in one piece, to an additional line section 12, which is connected by the sliding tab 8 or the adjacent end section 7 of the Inner tube into the inner tube 1 and on the inner jacket in the region of the free end 13 of the inner tube and out there to a first connection point 14 with plug contacts 15. This additional line section 12 can, however, also be laid from the outside in a preferably inwardly directed longitudinal bead 16 of the inner tube, the outwardly open longitudinal bead 16 being cast, for example, with an insulating material and supplementing the round contour of the outer tube. If this longitudinal bead is directed outwards, the additional line section can be inserted inside the inner tube 1 and protected against mechanical damage by means of a protective cover. This longitudinal bead can engage in an adapted longitudinal bead of the outer tube and can thus be used as an anti-rotation device between the two tubes 1, 2. The free end 13 of the inner tube facing the second end 17 of the helical line 5 is fixed in the region of the end wall 10 of the groove 6 on the outer tube 2 and preferably also integrally merges into a further line section 18 which on the outer tube 2 to one of the free end 19 of the Outer tube 2 associated second connection point 20 is guided with contacts 21. For the further line section 18, the outer tube 2 can have a corresponding longitudinal bead 22 which runs next to the cavity 4 or along the groove 6. It can either be shaped outwards, as is shown to the right of the groove 6 in FIG. 2. However, it can also be directed radially inwards, as shown in FIG. 2 to the left of the groove 6. Then the further line section 18 is inserted from the outside and can z. B. protected by a cover. One of the longitudinal beads embossed inwards, molded into the jacket of the inner tube 1 Guide bead 23 then serves as an anti-rotation device between the tubes 1, 2.

Starting from the extended position of the suction tube shown in FIG. 1, the helical line 5 is located in the cavity 4 in its axially undrawn position. If the outer tube 2 is pushed axially further onto the inner tube 1, then the end wall 10 and thus the second end 17 of the helical line 5 also migrates toward the free end 13 of the inner tube 1. Since the first end 11 of the helical line 5 is fixed on the inner tube 1, the helical line 4 is axially stretched and thus serves as an elastic connecting member between the electrical line sections 12 and 18, which are fixed on the inner tube 1 and on the outer tube 2. The current-conducting connection between the connection points 14 and 20 is thus retained, the axial displacement of the tubes 1, 2 is reliably maintained, the spiral line 5 ensuring by its own insulation that no electrical circuit with the tubes 1, 2, which are made in particular of metal, can occur . If such a danger is to be feared, the bead 6 and the jacket part of the inner tube covered by it can be provided with an additional electrical insulating coating. When the pipes 1, 2 are pulled apart, the helical line 5 is pushed back into the position shown. In this embodiment, no susceptible sliding contacts are required.

The helical line 5 can also be formed by the fact that the cable is not wound spirally, but is folded flat and zigzag-shaped, this folding being permanently retained and elastically contracting itself back to the starting position after stretching. The spiral web can be curved to match the pipe curvature, so that the cavity 4 with an enlarged extent in the circumferential direction can be limited essentially in its radial dimension to the size of the diameter of the individual spiral webs. Such flat embossing can be carried out on pipes with simplified effort.

The groove 6 assigned to the outer tube 2 can be integrated in an actuating mechanism 24 for locking the tubes 1, 2 in different axial positions, so that a closed structure is achieved overall.

Instead of a one-piece design for representing the groove 6, an outwardly curved channel profile piece can also be placed on the jacket of the outer tube 2, which is closed at both ends and covers an adapted longitudinal section of the outer tube 2. The outer tube 2 only needs to be slotted in the region of the groove 6 for the passage of the additional line section, while the other end of the helical line 5 is still fixed to the end of the groove 6 which faces the free end 13 of the inner tube 1. However, it is also possible to provide the inner tube 1 with an inwardly directed and / or the outer tube with an outwardly directed groove running in the longitudinal direction of the tube, so that overall a cavity 4 is created which is sufficient to accommodate the helical line 5. These partial grooves are also closed at the ends, the sliding elements 8, 10 corresponding sliding elements on the tubes 1, 2 immersing tightly in the groove of the other tube.
