Abstract

PCT No. PCT/AT94/00086 Sec. 371 Date Mar. 8, 1995 Sec. 102(e) Date Mar. 8, 1995 PCT Filed Jul. 7, 1994 PCT Pub. No. WO95/01922 PCT Pub. Date Jan. 19, 1995In a package, especially a pouch package, with a covering made of a flat foldable packaging material in which the inner sides of two strip-like edge regions are sealed together in a joining region to form the covering, there is a strip-like tear region in the package covering which starts from one of the two strip-like edge regions, extends substantially prependicularly thereto and has notches or linear punched-out regions only within the strip-like edge region. Here, at the beginning of the rear region between the two strip-like edge regions, there is a tab of flat material which is firmly secured to the edge region from which the tear region starts and is secured detachably or not at all to the other edge region, while the remainder of the flat of the tab projects beyond the edge of the edge region.

Description

Technisches GebietTechnical field

The invention relates to a tubular bag pack, according to the preamble of claim 1.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

A pack of this type is known from WO 91/06488, which essentially also describes the selection for multilayer packaging materials which are used during the opening process, e.g. starting from two incisions in a packaging material edge zone, tear along approximately two parallel lines. DE 38 36 227 A1 also describes a pack of the type mentioned at the outset, in which the packaging material is formed by a splice film. This is a monoaxially stretched plastic film, which, starting from a notch or an incision, practically always tears in the direction of stretching. In these known packs, a grip tab is provided at the beginning of the tear-open area, which is formed by the material of the packaging material edge areas between the notches or line-shaped punchings.

In WO 91/06488, a number of solutions are described in which an unsealed area remains between the connection area and the free edge of one of the edge zones, which area forms the grip tab between the two notches or linear punchings. Here, between the requirement A compromise can be found that the grip tab is not too small for good handling, but the unsealed area must not be too wide for reasons of material economy.

Furthermore, a wrapping package with opening aid for cigars is known from US-A-2337741. This opening aid is limited by two side notches in the edge area of the wrapping package, which extend from the adhesive-free edge zone to the sealing area. The tear-open area thus lies between the two notches and can additionally be identified for the user by an information element, for example the tab 23 according to FIG. 1. Due to the relatively short notches, the packaging material can now be torn uncontrollably when tearing open.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

The invention is based on the object of creating a pack of the type mentioned at the outset, which has a recognizable and manageable grip tab without there being any appreciable additional consumption of packaging material.

The object on which the invention is based is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The grip tab can advantageously be narrower than the tear area. In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the grip tab is wider than the tear area and outside of the Tear-open area releasably connected to the edge zone from which the tear-open area starts.

According to a further advantageous embodiment, the line-shaped punchings in the edge zone from which the tear-open area starts do not extend to the free edge of this edge zone.

In further advantageous refinements of the pack according to the invention, the seal of the connection area has a lower peel strength on average within the tear-open area than in the rest of the connection area, and in particular is also for this purpose, at least within the tear-open area, the sealing is advantageously implemented according to a cross line grid.

According to a last advantageous embodiment of the invention, the packaging material is characterized in that it is composed of several layers which are selected from the series paper, unstretched polyolefin film or layer, aluminum foil, film made of biaxially stretched polypropylene, film made of biaxially stretched polyamide, film made of biaxially stretched polyethylene terephthalate and a subcomplex of two or three layers, optionally made of the above materials, whereby of all neighboring different layers in the packaging material, the one mentioned earlier in the series and, in the case of adjacent layers made of the same or similar material, the thinner one closer to the product, and whereby a sub-complex is considered to be one between the layers of which there are bonded bonds which are considerably stronger than the bonded bonds of the sub-complex and the other layers of the packaging material with one another.

Beschreibung der Zeichnungen und einige Wege zur Ausführung der ErfindungDescription of the drawings and some ways of carrying out the invention

The invention is explained in detail below with reference to the figures, the packaging material being shown in an exaggerated thickness for better understanding.

In the examples described below, a three-layer packaging material is used to manufacture this pack. Starting from the outside of the pack, this packaging material consists, for example, of a film made of biaxially oriented polypropylene (OPP) with a thickness of 0.015 - 0.020 mm, a 0.007 to 0.009 mm thick, printed aluminum foil and a paper with a grammage of 40 - 50 g / m 2 as well as a hot or cold seal coating applied in the profile, for example a cold adhesive coating based on latex with 2-7 g / m 2 solid. The three layers are connected to one another in the usual way by means of a lamination adhesive.

On the packaging machine, two incisions are then punched into each of the packs to be produced, on one of the edges of the packaging material web pulled off the roll, and immediately afterwards on these incisions, on the inside of the packaging material web, an adhesive label forming the tab is applied. The packaging material web is then wrapped around the continuously supplied packaged goods, e.g. Waffein, folded, their edges sealed together within a strip-shaped connection area, and the two edge zones, which are sealed together, which are referred to as "fins", turned over onto the surface of the pack in such a way that the edge zone containing the incisions comes to the outside. The packaging material tube enclosing the packaged goods is now each provided with two transverse sealing seams running parallel to one another between two successive packaged goods and divided into individual tubular bag packs by separating cuts between these two transverse sealing seams. These transverse seals then form the "fins" of the tubular pouch that protrude from the packaging envelope.

Fig. 1 now shows schematically a perspective view of a tubular bag package for wafers produced in this way. One recognizes the packaging material edge zones 2 and 3 which are connected to one another by a seal in a strip-shaped connection area 1 and which is turned over as a "fin" on the surface of the packaging envelope. The stamped incisions 4, which extend from the edge 5 of the edge zone 2 into the connection area 1, can be seen on the edge zone 2 coming to the outside. The adhesive label 6 serving as a grip tab, which in this variant according to FIG. 1 has a width smaller than the distance between the two incisions 4, is connected to part of its area between the two incisions 4 within the connecting area 1 with the edge zone 2, whereby but it does not occupy the entire width of the connection area 1. The adhesive label 6 protrudes with the remaining part 7 of its surface beyond the edge 5 of the edge zone 2, which is large enough to open the package to be comfortably handled. The adhesive label 6 advantageously consists of a blank of paper or a plastic film, for example of PET or PP, which is provided, for example, on one side with a self-adhesive coating over its partial surface to be bonded. The total basis weight of the coated paper or the coated plastic film is approximately 60-100 g / m 2 . On its uncoated back there is no connection of the adhesive label to the packaging material edge zone 3. As a result, the packaging envelope now has a strip-like tear-open area 8, the lateral boundaries of which are imaginary lines 9 on the packaging envelope, which form continuations of the incisions 4. To facilitate the tear-open process, according to a variant of the packing within the tear-open area 8, the seal in the connection area, for example in the form of a cross line grid, is designed with increased peelability.

To open the package, the protruding part 7 of the adhesive label 6 serving as a grip tab is grasped and pulled up in the direction of arrow 10. Starting from the ends of the incisions 4, the packaging material tears approximately along the two imaginary lines 9. This tearing is carried out to such an extent that there is an opening in the packaging envelope through which packaged goods can be removed without the structure of the packaging envelope being destroyed by the opening of the packaging.

In the case of the packaging material described above, tearing occurs approximately along parallel lines. A rule for the selection of multilayer packaging materials that have this property is described in WO 91/06488. The arrangement according to the invention of the adhesive label serving as a grip tab in connection with a packaging material which corresponds to this selection rule forms an advantageous embodiment of the package according to the invention.

Fig. 2 shows another variant of the pack according to FIG. 1 in a partial representation in the supervision, with the At the beginning of the tear-open area 8, the packaging envelope is shown broken away. In contrast to the pack variant according to FIG. 1, the adhesive label 11 is here designed with a width greater than the distance between the two incisions 4, that is to say therefore wider than the tear-open area 8. Hatched in an area 12 between the two incisions 4 in FIG. 2, the adhesive label 11 is firmly attached to the edge zone 2 and releasably connected to it in two areas 13 beyond the incisions 4, that is to say outside the tear-open area 8. During the opening process, the connection of the adhesive label 11 to the packaging material edge zone 2 is first sheared off in the areas 13, after which the opening takes place analogously to that described with reference to FIG. 1.

An advantage of this variant according to FIG. 2 - especially in the case of packs made of a packaging material with a high tendency to tear - is that the incisions 4 are covered by the adhesive label 11 immediately after they have been punched in, so that there is a risk that the packaging material will start from the incisions during the packaging process 4 tears, is avoided or at least significantly reduced.

In the case of packaging materials which are not too thick, in accordance with another variant according to FIG. 3, instead of the incisions 4 starting from the edge 5 of the edge zone 2, two short linear punchings 14 can be made which do not extend all the way to this edge 5. During the opening process, the remaining narrow webs 15 are simply torn between the edge 5 and the punchings 14. This measure also reduces the risk of tearing the packaging material during the opening process.

Gewerbliche AnwendungCommercial application

The pack according to the invention can primarily be used as a pack for foods such as chocolates or baked goods which are optionally gastight or which are advantageously tubular bag packs or bag packs.

Claims (7)
