Description

The invention relates to a folder according to the preamble of claim 1.

B. zwischen 200 und 500 mm.It is generally known to arrange tape guidance systems in folders to guide the signatures or later products around the individual cylinders. Such tape control systems are e.g. B. shown in DE 36 28 411 A1 and partially wrap around the circumference of all cylinders arranged in the folder and pass the signatures or products on to the paddle wheel and the sheet delivery. The belts of a belt guidance system on the collecting cylinder are each arranged in the free spaces between adjacent grippers. It is thus possible to process a paper web strand of variable width coming in from the turning bars via a longitudinal folding funnel and mixed from different paper webs. H. each z. B. between 200 and 500 mm.

The invention has for its object to provide a variable folder with which it can be ensured that when changing the format (= change in width) of the signatures, their outer edges parallel to the direction of transport are always sufficiently covered by conveyor belts of a belt guiding device.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

The following advantages are achieved in particular by the invention. When selecting the width of a paper web strand and thus the width of signatures within a predetermined range, moving the turning bars or a longitudinal folding funnel ensures that each of the two outer edges of the signatures is covered at least half by a conveyor belt, which means that a counterforce is present and therefore a Damage to the front corners of the signatures when gripping the gripper is excluded. The same applies when using punctures instead of grippers. Even with an additional arrangement of a stapler on the collecting cylinder, it is ensured that both the outside of the signatures are covered at least half by a conveyor belt and the staples are arranged almost centrally in the line of alignment of the transverse fold to be subsequently introduced.

A folder has two side frames 1, 49 arranged parallel to one another for receiving the cylinders shown, of which only one side frame 1 is shown in FIG. 1. Coming from an indicated longitudinal folding device 2 with a downstream pair of folding rollers 5, a paper web strand 6 consisting of several paper webs 3, 4 (FIG. 3) passes through a cross cutting device consisting of cross cutting cylinder 7 and cutting groove cylinder 8 with an upstream pair of drawing rollers 9. By means of the cross cutting device 7, 8 the paper web strand 6 is cut into individual signatures 11, 12 (indicated in FIG. 2), which are fed to a five-part collecting cylinder 16 via belt guidance systems 13, 14, the circumference with five known and each is equipped with a total of 17 designated gripper systems and with five known, each with 18 designated folding knife systems. On the collecting cylinder 16 can optionally one on its circumference z. B. equipped with three stapling heads 19. The belt guidance system 13 continues to surround the signatures (not shown in FIG. 1) until a five-part jaw cylinder 20 is reached, which is equipped with five known jaw systems 21 distributed over its circumference. The folding jaw cylinder 20 is followed by a three-part gripper cylinder 23 equipped with three known gripper systems 22, which feeds the cross-folded and possibly cross-stitched products via a belt guide system 24 arranged around the folding jaw cylinder 20 and the gripper cylinder 23 to a first paddle wheel 26 with a first cross-fold delivery 27 .

Another belt guide system 31, 32 is arranged after the gripper cylinder 23. By means of a switch 29 and the belt guide systems 31, 32, the products can alternatively be fed to a second paddle wheel 34 and a second transverse fold delivery 36 via a deflection roller 33. The belt guide system 32 touches both the circumference of the jaw cylinder 20 and that of the gripper cylinder 23 and that of the deflection roller 33 and is guided to the second paddle wheel 34. Between the collecting cylinder 16 and the jaw cylinder 20 can be in the gusset behind the line of contact of both cylinders 16, 20 a known paper guide device 38 may be arranged.

A right and a left section of the collecting cylinder 16 is shown with the bands 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46 of the band guiding system 13 lying against the circumference of the collecting cylinder 16 (FIG. 2). The tapes 41 to 46 shown each have a width b and are shown to represent a plurality of tapes. A distance i (gap) between two bands, e.g. B. 41, 42, is equal to or smaller than the width b of a band, for. B. 41, 42. A line 48 is seen in the production direction C, a center line of the collecting cylinder 16 is illustrated. The side frames of the machine frame are indicated and designated 1 and 49, in which axle journals, not shown, of the collecting cylinder 16 are mounted. For this purpose, the axis of rotation of the collecting cylinder 16 is designated 39. The belts 41 to 46 are guided in respective spaces d between adjacent grippers 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58 of the respective gripper system 17 on the outer surface of the collecting cylinder 16, which in turn are shown as representative of a plurality of grippers of a gripper system 17. The maximum width of a signature 11, 12 that can be conveyed under the belt guidance system 13 is designated by e.

The signatures 11, 12 symbolically indicated in FIG. 2 each have a width f, which is smaller is the maximum possible width e of a signature (Fig. 2). A minimum width f can be less than 200 mm, while a maximum width g can be greater than 500 mm. The indicated signature 12 assumes a normal position (1st position), ie, seen in the production direction C in bottom view A on the collecting cylinder 16, a left-justified position, the longitudinal edges 83, 84 of the left-justified signature 12 not under one of the bands 41 to 46 are arranged. The signature 11 assumes a corrected position (2nd position) in accordance with the features of the invention, as will be explained in more detail later.

A turning bar 63 which is displaceable in the axial direction G to the collecting cylinder 16 and is provided with a drive is shown at an angle alpha of 45 ° to the paper web running direction (FIG. 3). The turning bar 63 is supported at its two ends via swivel joints 64, 66 in slide guides 67, 68 fixed to the frame. One of the two slide guides 67, 68 can be driven by means of a unit consisting of a motor 69 and a gear unit 71 in a non-positive and positive connection, for. B. via a pinion, not shown, which engages in a rack fixed to the frame. The motor 69 is connected to a computer 73 via a cable 72 and an amplifier 70. A potentiometer 74 fixed to the frame is connected on the one hand to the motor 69 and on the other hand via a cable 76 to the computer 73. The turning bar 63 is thus in the axial Direction adjustable in a range h. The paper web 3 is guided over the turning bar 63 shown, while the paper web 4 is fed over a turning bar of the same type, not shown. A pair of pull rollers 9 is indicated symbolically in FIG. 3.

A paper web strand 6 can also consist of more than two paper webs 3, 4. A possible lateral running of the longitudinal edges 83, 84 of the individual paper webs 3, 4 is monitored by photoelectric cells 77, 78, which each interact with a light source 79, 81 applied to a voltage U. A course of only one paper web 3, 4 by a presettable amount is thus already indicated by the current flow generated by the photocells 77, 78 being interrupted. For this purpose, the photocells 77, 78 are each connected to the computer 73 via a voltage-pulse converter 61, 62 via a cable 80, 82, which triggers an interference signal or immediately causes a machine stop. The photocells 77, 78 and the light sources 79, 81, which can consist of light-emitting diodes, are arranged in a frame-fixed manner below or above the paper webs 3, 4 and transversely to the plane of the direction of travel C of the paper webs 3, 4 so that they can be moved with respect to the Longitudinal edges 83, 84 of the paper webs 3, 4 can be adjusted so that a signal is only triggered after a lateral deflection of a paper web 3 or 4 by interrupting the light beams emitted by the light source 79, 81 to the photocell 77, 78 becomes. Such changes in position can, for. B. caused by a tear in the paper web.

Parameters 89, 91 can be entered into the computer 73 via a keyboard 88, which parameters include the paper web width e, f and an alternative stapling process by means of the stapler 19 (FIG. 5). The width of the paper web or the width of a signature 11, 12 can be between a maximum width e and a width which is less than the width f of the signature 61, 62 shown in FIG. 2. According to the entered parameters 89, 91, the paper moves Turning rod 63 in the adjustment range h in the axial direction G by means of motor 69 and gear 71 on the slide guides 67, 68 by a program entered in the computer 73 at least by an amount b such that at least the longitudinal edge 83, 84 of a signature 11 with at least half Width b of a belt 41, 45 is covered, so that the grippers 53, 57 of the belt guidance system 13 can grip the front edge of the signature 11 lying in the production direction C so that when gripping the grippers 53, 57 a secure and damage-free detection of the signature 11 at this point without the front corners being deformed. If the signature 11 is also to be stapled, it is additionally aligned or centered on the line 48, the center line of the collecting cylinder 16 in the production direction C by means of the program entered in the computer 73. Furthermore, the side not shown Limiting disks of the paddle wheel 26, 34 adapted to the actual width f of the signature 11 or its position to the line 48. In a broader sense, this also applies to the paddle wheel bodies 26, 34 arranged between the limiting disks. This is done by means of a geared motor 92. The actual position of the limiting disks is reported to the computer 73 by a potentiometer 93 which is fixed to the frame. The geared motor 92 is connected via an amplifier 94 to the computer 73 via lines which are not specified in any more detail.

The parts 92, 93, 94 are present in duplicate and can be used both for the impeller 26 and for the impeller 34 (FIG. 5).

Statt einer in axialer Richtung G verschiebbaren Wendestange 63 kann über dem Falzapparat auch eine ein Falzwalzenpaar 5 aufweisende, in axialer Richtung G verschiebbare Längsfalzeinrichtung 2, 5 angeordnet sein (Fig. 1).Instead of a turning bar 63 which can be displaced in the axial direction G, a longitudinal folding device 2, 5 which has a pair of folding rollers 5 and can be displaced in the axial direction G can also be arranged above the folding apparatus (FIG. 1).

The axes of rotation of the pair of folding rollers 5 arranged at the hopper outlet of the longitudinal folding device 2 run parallel to the axis of rotation 39 of the collecting cylinder 16. The parts 69, 70, 71, 74 can then be used in connection with a guide (not shown) for moving the longitudinal folding device 2, 5. The guide can be analogous to the slide guide 67, 68 be made or consist of rails fixed to the frame, on which the longitudinal folding device 2, 5 is displaceable by means of wheels.

It is also possible not only to design the collecting cylinder 16 in five parts, but also to provide it with a different division. This also applies to the jaw cylinder 20. It is also possible to practice the method for positioning signatures on so-called "cutt" devices, in which the signatures are also carried out with tapes.
