Definitions
- the invention relates to an articulated arm awning with a support frame, in which a fabric shaft is rotatably mounted, with articulated arms pivotably mounted in consoles and with an extension rod which excites the fabric end and is articulated to the lower arms of the articulated arms.
- FR-A-2 163 091 describes an articulated arm awning of the type mentioned.
- Each arm of an articulated arm consists of two interlocking profile pieces which, however, cannot be displaced relative to one another.
- DE-A-3 243 025 also describes an articulated arm awning of the type mentioned, which provides gas pressure springs for tensioning the articulated arms.
- the upper arms and forearms of the articulated arms always have a fixed, unchangeable length.
- telescopic rods instead of articulated arms does not help either, since the telescopic rods are parallel to the support frame in the retracted position and therefore only a limited extension length is available.
- the telescopic rods always form an acute angle with the drop rod. This limits the stability of the arrangement. If the telescopic rods are articulated centrally on the support frame, there is even an unstable triangular arrangement.
- the object of the invention is to enlarge the drop lengths while maintaining the stability of an articulated arm awning.
- At least one arm (upper arm and / or lower arm) of each articulated arm in the extended position forms a substantially right angle with the extension rod and has a telescopic device that is biased in the direction of extension.
- the invention differs from the prior art in that this alignment of an arm perpendicular to the extension bar enables the awning to be extended telescopically while maintaining the geometry of the articulated arms. This gives a high stability of the force absorption at favorable angles. Since the awning's dropout is greater than the length of the non-telescopic articulated arms, the dropout can be greater than the width of the awning. This is particularly important for narrow loggias.
- Such awnings with telescopic arms are much more stable because the comparatively inert gas pressure springs of the telescopic devices strongly dampen bulges of the awning fabric under wind loads. This protects the joints in particular.
- the gas pressure springs provide great tension for the awning cover even when the awning is extended. This applies all the more if the joints are locked in the extended position.
- the telescopic device acts essentially perpendicular to the drop rod, so that the moments of force are always the same.
- the telescopic device exerts no forces perpendicular to the direction of failure on the awning fabric, so that the same is always tensioned evenly.
- a particularly high stability results from the fact that the telescopic device is arranged in the forearm.
- a play-free telescopic guide is obtained in that the telescopic device comprises two tubular profile parts which can be slid into one another.
- a small-volume actuating device is achieved in that a spring, preferably a gas pressure spring, is provided for pretensioning the telescopic device.
- a self-releasing unlocking device is provided for the telescopic device in the extended position. This prevents actuation of the telescopic device in a kink position. This could lead to indefinable operating states and unstable static conditions.
- a secure locking of the joint in the extended position is achieved in that a rod engaging in a recess in the upper arm is provided as an locking device in the forearm with an actuating lever which is actuated by the telescopic device in the retracted position.
- a safe retraction of the awning is ensured by the fact that an effective kink release device is provided for each joint when the fabric is retracted.
- a simple kink release device is designed as a rod.
- the support frame 1 schematically shows a support frame 1 fastened to a facade or a wall with a cloth shaft (not shown) for a cloth 2.
- the support frame 1 can comprise a support tube, a box and / or brackets.
- Articulated arms 3, whose upper arm 4 and forearm 5 are coupled to one another by a joint 6, are pivotably seated in brackets fastened to the facade or the supporting frame.
- the forearms 5 carry a drop bar 7 to which the cloth 2 is attached. In the down position, the forearms 5 form an essentially right angle with the down rod 7. This is very favorable for the balance of power.
- the articulated arms 3 are biased in the direction of failure by tension elements, not shown, so that the cloth 2 is always kept under tension. Since the articulated arms 3 fold together, the extension length of this conventional awning arrangement is approximately limited to the length of an articulated arm.
- the forearms 5 each contain a telescopic device in that an inner profile 8 and an outer profile 9 can be moved into one another.
- the telescopic device is biased in the direction of failure, which will be explained in detail.
- the telescopic device is released in the extended position of the articulated arms. In the extended position, the joints 6, the legs 4, 5 of which form an acute angle with one another, are locked against one another. So you get constant and reproducible power relationships.
- FIG. 3 shows another example of the invention.
- the legs 4, 5 of the articulated arms 3 are at an extended angle in the extended position, so that the articulated arms assume a dead center position.
- An over-center position is also possible.
- the technical effect achieved by the invention can be clearly seen from the comparison of FIGS. 2 and 3 with FIG. 1.
- the extension length of the awning is considerably longer than the extended length of an articulated arm.
- the forearm 5 comprises an inner profile 8 and an outer profile 9.
- the inner profile 8 receives a bracket 10 on a pin 11, to which the extension rod 7 is fastened.
- the inner profile 8 and the outer profile 9 are coupled to one another by the piston rod 16 of a gas pressure spring 17.
- the inner profile 8 and the outer profile 9 have passages 12, 13 which can be aligned with one another and into which a bolt 13 engages as a locking device.
- the bolt 13 is seated on a resilient tongue 14 with stop lugs 15.
- the tongue 14 is fastened to the inner profile 8 and is pretensioned in the locked position, so that normally the pin 13 engages in the passages 12, 21 when the articulated arm is bent and the telescopic device is locked. 5 and 6, the stop lugs 15 abut the bracket 10, so that the pin 13 is lifted out of the passages 12, 21 and unlocks the telescopic device.
- the gas pressure spring 17 is then effective and extends the telescopic device via the piston rod 16.
- the joint 6 In the extended position, the joint 6 is locked, which is explained below.
- a rod 18 acting as a kink release device is guided in the outer profile 9.
- the telescopic devices When the cloth 2 is rolled in, the telescopic devices are retracted and the gas pressure springs are tensioned. Finally, the inner profile 8 abuts the rod 18, which bends the joint 6 and serves as a kink release device.
- the pin 13 engages in the passages 12 and locks the telescopic device.
- FIG. 7 and 8 show an exemplary embodiment of a locking device for the joint 6.
- a rod 20 is guided on the receptacle 19 of the forearm 5 and is coupled to a lever 23 by a pin 22.
- the lever 23 is articulated on a bolt 24 and biased by a spring 25.
- a lever head 26 comes into contact with the end face of the inner profile of the forearm (not shown), as a result of which the sprayer is actuated when the telescopic device is retracted.
- the head 27 of the rod 20 engages in the extended position of the articulated arm in a recess 28 of the receptacle 29 of the upper arm 4, so that the joint is locked in the extended position.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an articulated arm awning with a support frame, in which a fabric shaft is rotatably mounted, with articulated arms pivotably mounted in consoles and with an extension rod which excites the fabric end and is articulated to the lower arms of the articulated arms.
Each arm of an articulated arm consists of two interlocking profile pieces which, however, cannot be displaced relative to one another. DE-A-3 243 025 also describes an articulated arm awning of the type mentioned, which provides gas pressure springs for tensioning the articulated arms. The upper arms and forearms of the articulated arms always have a fixed, unchangeable length.
Since the articulated arms are folded, the drop lengths of such awnings is limited in construction to approximately the length of the articulated arms.
The use of telescopic rods instead of articulated arms does not help either, since the telescopic rods are parallel to the support frame in the retracted position and therefore only a limited extension length is available. The telescopic rods always form an acute angle with the drop rod. This limits the stability of the arrangement. If the telescopic rods are articulated centrally on the support frame, there is even an unstable triangular arrangement.
The object of the invention is to enlarge the drop lengths while maintaining the stability of an articulated arm awning.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that at least one arm (upper arm and / or lower arm) of each articulated arm in the extended position forms a substantially right angle with the extension rod and has a telescopic device that is biased in the direction of extension.
The invention differs from the prior art in that this alignment of an arm perpendicular to the extension bar enables the awning to be extended telescopically while maintaining the geometry of the articulated arms. This gives a high stability of the force absorption at favorable angles. Since the awning's dropout is greater than the length of the non-telescopic articulated arms, the dropout can be greater than the width of the awning. This is particularly important for narrow loggias.
Such awnings with telescopic arms are much more stable because the comparatively inert gas pressure springs of the telescopic devices strongly dampen bulges of the awning fabric under wind loads. This protects the joints in particular. The gas pressure springs provide great tension for the awning cover even when the awning is extended. This applies all the more if the joints are locked in the extended position. The telescopic device acts essentially perpendicular to the drop rod, so that the moments of force are always the same. The telescopic device exerts no forces perpendicular to the direction of failure on the awning fabric, so that the same is always tensioned evenly.
An Ausrührungsbeispiel see before that the telescopic device is arranged in the upper arm.
A particularly high stability results from the fact that the telescopic device is arranged in the forearm.
A play-free telescopic guide is obtained in that the telescopic device comprises two tubular profile parts which can be slid into one another.
A small-volume actuating device is achieved in that a spring, preferably a gas pressure spring, is provided for pretensioning the telescopic device.
So that the telescopic device is only effective in the extended position, it is provided that a self-releasing unlocking device is provided for the telescopic device in the extended position. This prevents actuation of the telescopic device in a kink position. This could lead to indefinable operating states and unstable static conditions.
A secure locking of the joint in the extended position is achieved in that a rod engaging in a recess in the upper arm is provided as an locking device in the forearm with an actuating lever which is actuated by the telescopic device in the retracted position.
Defined operating conditions for the telescopic device are ensured in that a locking device effective in the extended position is provided for the joint.
A safe retraction of the awning is ensured by the fact that an effective kink release device is provided for each joint when the fabric is retracted.
Eine einfache Knickauslösevorrichtung ist als Stange ausgebildet.A simple kink release device is designed as a rod.

Da die Gelenkarme 3 zusammenklappen, ist die Ausfahrlänge dieser herkömmlichen Markisenanordnung etwa auf die Länge eines Gelenkarms beschränkt.1 schematically shows a support frame 1 fastened to a facade or a wall with a cloth shaft (not shown) for a
Fig 2 stellt ein Beispiel der Erfindung dar. So erhält man gleichbleibende und reproduzierbare Kräfteverhältnisse.2 shows an example of the invention. The
Fig. 3 zeigt ein weiteres Beispiel der Erfindung. There the
The
The
In the extended position, the joint 6 is locked, which is explained below. A
