Claims (8)

  1. An awning (1), especially an articulated arm awning, comprising an awning cloth (2) that can be wound up into a cloth roll (3) and a front bar (4) that is disposed at the free outer end of the awning cloth (2). connected to the same, characterized in that the front bar incorporates at least one swivel hinge (7) having an approximately horizontal or forward tilting swivel axis (5), wherein such a swivel axis (5) enables the front bar (4) to be folded up or down.
  2. An awning according to claim 1, characterized in that the swivel joint (7) is executed as a hinge.
  3. An awning according to claim 1, characterized in that a coupling means is provided such that when the awning (1) or front bar (4) is extended, the front bar (4) is automatically folded around the swivel axis (5) either up, similar to a gable roof, or down, and that the front bar (4) is moved into a straight position when the awning (1) or front bar (4) is retracted.
  4. An awning according to claim 3, characterized in that the coupling means is formed by a cable pull mechanism.
  5. An awning according to claim 3, characterized in that the coupling means is formed by articulated arms or articulated arm sections (9, 10) that swivel at least in sections around an approximately horizontal or tilted swivel axis.
  6. An awning according to claim 5. characterized in that the inner and outer articulated arm sections (9, 10) are connected via a swivel hinge (12) to a swivel axis (13) in such a manner that the swivel axis (12) is formed tilted on the same, and that the outer articulated arm section (10) in the extended position is tilted inward or outward relative to the vertical plane by an angle a. so that the sections (5 or 6) of the front bar (4) that are fastened on the given articulated arm sections (9 or 10) are accordingly tilted by an angle a against the horizontal plane.
  7. An awning according to claim 6, characterized in that the swivel axis (13) of the swivel joint (12) is formed between the inner and outer articulated arm section (9 or 10) offset from the longitudinal center axis (15 or 16) of the inner and outer articulated arm section (9 or 10), on an offset curvature (17).
  8. An awning according to claim 6, characterized in that a universal joint, which is blockable and releasable by blocking means consisting of a locking pin 29 and borings 30, is formed between the outer articulated arm section (10) and the front bar (4).
