Description

The present invention relates to a dish washing machine of the tunnel type, comprising an automatic advancement device for the dish racks.

Known washing machines of this type intended mainly for communities include a washing tunnel in which advance racks lined with the dishes to be treated. These compartments successively pass through more or less numerous treatment zones depending on the capacity of the machine.

The simplest treatment comprises two phases, namely a washing phase and a rinsing phase.

The most complete treatment includes five phases, namely pre-wash, wash, reinforced wash, pre-rinse and rinse phases.

The tunnel is subdivided into a corresponding number of zones generally consisting of a tank containing the treatment water and a pump making it possible to violently spray the water from the tank onto the dishes.

The usual device for advancing the lockers through the tunnel is composed of two rails passing through the tunnel and driven in a longitudinal movement back and forth thanks to a rod-crank system. The rails rest by means of plastic pads on two fixed support rails. The advancement of the lockers is done by adhesion of the latter on the rails, tilting cleats mounted on the fixed supports preventing the recoil of the lockers during the recoil of the rails.

This set of rails and support beams which runs over the entire length of the tunnel, in the lower part of the latter, constitutes a certain handicap from a hygiene point of view. Indeed, insofar as this system performs only a back-and-forth movement of small amplitude, each part of the system always remains in the same zone of the tunnel and consequently undergoes fouling which is more or less significant. depending on the area of the tunnel in which it is located. In other words, the parts of the system in the first areas of the tunnel in which the process water is heavily loaded with food debris and fat undergoes fouling which can only be removed by periodic cleaning, for example daily. However, there are still many places which are not accessible by such periodic cleaning and which therefore remain permanently clogged.

In addition, this system of rails and support rails hinders, by its presence, considerably the cleaning of the tanks located under the tunnel, as well as all the accessories attached to it, the easy access of these tanks by one side of the tunnel being blocked by this fixed system.

Les documents EP-A-0 326 924 et FR-A-1.239.603 décrivent des machines à laver conformement au prèambule de la revendication independante 1.The documents EP-A-0 326 924 and FR-A-1.239.603 describe washing machines in accordance with the preamble of independent claim 1.

The present invention relates to a tunnel type dishwashing machine comprising, for the automatic advancement of the dishwashing racks through the tunnel, a device which, while being of a surprisingly simple structure, is not subject to fouling like the devices known in the prior art, but on the contrary undergoes permanent self-cleaning during the operation of the machine. The invention also relates to a dishwashing machine of the tunnel type, the automatic advancement device of the dishwashing racks is designed so as not to impede access to the parts located under the tunnel such as the tanks and the accessories attached to it.

Preferably, on the dishwashing machine of the tunnel type, the automatic advancement device for the dishwashing racks comprises two parallel endless chains, spaced apart, each passing over at least two pinions so as to traverse the tunnel over its entire length. length, the upper strand of the two chains receiving the dish racks for their advancement by adhesion on the chains. This device further comprises drive means for said chains.

The two chains which run through the tunnel as the dishwashing racks progress through successively, jointly with the dishwashing racks, the different treatment zones of the tunnel and thus undergo, in these different zones, the same treatment. than the dishes. They are thus, at each rotation, cleared in the last treatment zone (s), of all food debris and fats which can settle there in the preceding zone (s), so that daily cleaning of the chains for example is unnecessary or is to say the least considerably simplified.

The sprockets for the two chains are mounted on a rectangular frame formed by two side members and cross members connecting the two side members together, this frame passing through the entire tunnel of the machine being articulated by one of its side members on the frame of the machine. so that it can be raised by pivoting.

The mounting of the chain sprockets on such a pivoting frame makes it possible to raise the entire advancement device so as to have access, from the side of the tunnel opposite to the articulation of the frame on the frame, to the parts of the machine situated below. the advancement device (tanks and accessories), without being in any way bothered by the advancement device.

Preferably, locking means are provided for immobilizing the pivoting frame in the raised position and, preferably, also in the low position.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, two sprockets of the chains situated at one longitudinal end of the frame are mounted on a common shaft carrying a driven toothed sprocket which, in the lowered position of the frame, is engaged with a mounted toothed sprocket fixed position on the machine frame.

This makes it possible to couple the two toothed pinions by the simple lowering of the frame, the teeth of the driven pinion of the frame coming automatically to be placed in the intervals between the teeth of the fixed motor pinion due to the movement of approach by pivoting of the two pinions.

Preferably, the two toothed pinions are pinions with straight teeth.

  • la figure 1 est une vue en bout d'une machine à laver la vaisselle montrant le dispositif d'avancement des casiers à vaisselle dans le tunnel ainsi que les moyens d'entraînement de ce dispositif;
Referring to the appended schematic drawings, there will be described below in more detail an illustrative and nonlimiting exemplary embodiment of a dishwashing machine according to the invention; on the drawings:
  • Figure 1 is an end view of a dish washing machine showing the advancement device of the dish racks in the tunnel and the drive means of this device;
  • Figure 2 is a side view of the machine of Figure 1, from the tunnel access face (arrow A in Figure 1), without the drive means.
  • FIG. 3 is a top view of the machine according to FIGS. 1 and 2.

A dishwashing machine of the tunnel type comprises a tunnel 1, only the outline of the latter as well as the feet 2 of the machine being visible in the various figures.

Il est à noter que la boîte de renvoi 10 et le moteur 11 sont montés en position fixe en dessous du tunnel 1 (voir figure 1).Inside the tunnel 1 which is subdivided, in the direction of its length, into several treatment zones (for example prewash, washing, reinforced washing, pre-rinsing, rinsing) intended to be successively crossed by the dishes contained in baskets or lockers not shown, is installed a device 3 for the automatic advancement of said lockers through the tunnel 1. This advancement device 3 comprises two endless chains 4, parallel, spaced transversely to the length of the tunnel 1, these chains being preferably made of large stainless steel links. Each chain 4 passes over two sprockets 5 and 6 arranged at the two ends of the tunnel 1, one 5 at the inlet end and the other 6 at the outlet end. The pinions 5 and 6 are mounted in rotation, the pinions 5 being able to rotate freely, while the pinions 6 are integral with a common shaft 7 carrying a toothed pinion 8 between the two pinions 6. The toothed pinion 8 is engaged with the output pinion 9 of a return gear 10 driven by an electric motor 11 via a chain transmission 12. It should be noted that the return gear 10 and the motor 11 are mounted in a fixed position at below tunnel 1 (see figure 1).

The sprockets 5 and 6 for the chains 4 are mounted on a rectangular frame 13 constituted by two longitudinal members 14 and two cross members 15, preferably made of stainless steel, the two longitudinal members 14 carrying, at intervals, pads 16 which support the upper strand of the chains 4. The distance separating the pads 16 is chosen to be less than the length of the dish racks so that between the two pinions 5 and 6, each rack is supported, by means of each chain 4, preferably by at least two pads 16.

The tunnel 1 comprises on one side corresponding to the arrow A in FIGS. 1 and 3, one or more flaps shown making it possible to release an access opening. On the opposite side of the tunnel 1, the frame 13 is articulated on the frame of the machine by bearings 17 in such a way that the frame 13 can, with the parts of the advancement device 3 which it supports, be raised by pivoting in the direction of arrow P in FIG. 1 around the articulation bearings 17, so that in the raised position, the advancement device 3 completely frees access to the underlying parts of the machine, in particular the tanks containing the process water in the different zones, thus allowing easy cleaning of these tanks and of the accessories attached thereto.

During this raising of the frame 13 with the elements which it supports, the toothed pinion 8 comes out of engagement with the toothed pinion 9, and during the pivoting of the frame 13 downwards in the working position, the toothed pinion 8 returns to the pinion 9, the teeth of the pinion 8 being automatically placed in the intervals between the teeth of the pinion 9 because the pinion 8 approaches the pinion 9 by a pivoting movement and that the chains 4 have sufficient " slack "to allow the pinion 8 to perform the slight angular movement that may be necessary to allow the teeth of the two pinions to engage.

A locking device, not shown, is provided to hold the frame 13 in the raised position. Furthermore, an immobilization or locking device is preferably also provided to hold the frame 13 in the lowered position and keep the pinions 8 and 9 in engagement.

It goes without saying that the embodiment shown and described has been given by way of illustrative and nonlimiting example and that numerous modifications and variants are possible within the scope of the invention, as specified in the claims. .

Thus, the drive means of the two chains 4 could be different, in particular also with regard to the "disengageable" connection of these drive means when the frame is raised, this connection possibly being non "disengageable".
