Wenn längs des Transportwegs des Falzbogens in der Fadensiegelmaschine und gegebenenfalls längs dieses Weges verstellbare weitere Geber vorgesehen werden, ist es möglich, unter Vergleich mit dem ermittelten Längenmaß des Falzbogens den Abstand zwischen den Gebern zu messen, abzuspeichern und zur Überwachung und Steuerung der Maschine heranzuziehen, so daß sich der Durchlauf des Falzbogens durch die Fadensiegelmaschine nach dem Verfolgungsprinzip überwachen läßt. Es läßt sich feststellen, wieviele Falzbogen sich zwischen zwei bestimmten Punkten befinden, was wiederum zu verschiedenen Überwachungszwecken ausgenutzt werden kann.
