Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a garden waste shredder with a drive motor and a feed hopper for the material to be shredded and a lower ejector frame surrounding it, a shredder housing arranged thereon between the feed hopper and ejector bowl and a drive shaft to be mounted therein and driven thereby in a circumferential manner , shredder disc equipped with shredding tools.
Garden waste shredders of the above type are known, for example from EP-A1-0 505 701. Like other garden waste shredders generally known as garden shredders, they regularly have a knife carrier disk to be driven as a shredder disk, the cutting knives of which are arranged on the top side and interact with abutments correspondingly installed in the shredder housing and thereby interact the chopper material fed in via the feed hopper, that is to say in particular branch-shaped or knot-shaped garden waste, is cut up and can pass into the ejector chamber via passage slots provided in the circumferential knife carrier disc. The garden waste cut up in this way can then be conveniently disposed of or composted in a useful manner. Such garden shredders are therefore also erroneously referred to as composters, although they are neither intended nor suitable for the processing or preparation of compost.
This is precisely what the present invention has to do with it. It is the object of the task to improve the garden waste shredders of the type mentioned at the beginning in such a way that they are also and in particular suitable for shredding relatively moist compost and for this purpose the compost and also adhering soil are as fine as possible like a sieve shred. This object is achieved on the basis of a garden waste shredder of the type mentioned at the outset according to the invention in that its circumferentially driven shredder disc consists of a tear bar provided on the upper side with essentially radially extending fangs and rip plates on the underside which also have essentially radially extending cleaning bars and which at least in the area of it Tear strips of a slot-free nature. The tear plate is preferably completely free of passage slots. The tear strips, as well as the cleaning strips running close above the bottom of the shredder housing, advantageously consist of toothed strips arranged uniformly distributed over the circumference of the tear plate, which are preferably arranged radially offset from one another in such a way that a full-surface toothing results on the top and bottom sides. In this way, with the aid of the drawing plate rotating in the speed range of about 1000 to 3000 rpm, even and especially moist compost and adhering soil can be particularly finely ground or torn and thrown off, this task falling primarily on the toothed ridges on the top of the drawing plate. On the other hand, the cleaning strips on the underside of the drawing plate have the task of preventing corresponding blockages due to the very inclined comminution material due to their circulation in the vicinity of the ground of the shredder housing, so to ensure that the device is kept free at all times.
As practice has shown, it is advisable to arrange the tear strips on the tear plate so that they run radially at the top so that their inner ends lead in the circumferential direction of the tear plate and enclose an acute angle with the radial through these ends. which, depending on the speed, lies between 30 ° at low, around 1000 rpm and 45 ° at higher, around 3000 rpm speeds of the drawing plate. Furthermore, it is advantageous for the mode of operation of the garden waste shredder, which in this case is to be designated as a composting worker, if the drawing plate is arranged so far below the lower end of the feeding funnel that the passage distance for the material to be torn is between the upper edge of the fangs and the lower feeding funnel adjacent housing cover of the ejector space is between 10 and 20 mm, the smaller distance at lower speeds of about 1000 rpm of the drawing plate and the larger distance at higher speeds of up to 3000 rpm and more should be selected.
According to a further feature of the invention, the like can be used for pre-shredding of rotten branches that are present in the compost. stiff parts close above the drawing plate on the latter carrying drive shaft additional flat pre-shredding knives are mounted and above their outer entry point to the ejector space on the shredder housing an abutment interacting with the rotating knife ends. In this way, an effective pre-shredding of corresponding compost components can take place without the fine shredding of the compost to be brought about by the drawing plate being impaired thereby.
The pre-shredding knives advantageously consist of double knives provided with mutually mirror-inverted cutting edges, which are to be fastened to the drive shaft by means of screw fastening holes located in the center. Preferably, two such double knives of identical design can be arranged such that they are offset from one another by 90 °.
Finally, it is also advantageous if a U-shaped profiled end bracket is attached above the drawing plate or the pre-shredding knife in the screw fastening area in the screw fastening area thereof, the upright standing end bracket Legs are offset from each other and each seen in the direction of rotation of the drive shaft in front of the heads of the fastening screws. In this way, on the one hand, the screw fastening heads are effectively protected from otherwise severe abrasion damage by the comminution material and, on the other hand, the comminution material is additionally thrown outwards by the upright legs of the end angle.

The garden waste shredder shown only partially in FIGS. 1 to 4 is of the type known, for example, from EP-A1-0 505 701, in that it has a shredder housing 1, which has a drive motor, not shown, including the transmission 2 and the vertical drive shaft 3 supporting
In the present case, however, in the garden waste shredder, instead of the abutment described above and the knife carrier disk interacting therewith, a
As shown in FIG. 2, the
Furthermore, it is advantageous to arrange the
The fastening
The composting worker shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 differs from that shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 essentially only in that, in addition to the
The central design of the
It goes without saying that the above-described composting plant designed in accordance with the invention can in principle also be used in garden choppers of different design after the removal of their knife works and the abutment interacting therewith. Garden shredders of this type can then either be operated or used as choppers or compost workers after minor modifications. However, the new composting plant could equally well be permanently installed in an otherwise appropriately designed garden waste comminution device, so that such a device could then only be used as a composting plant without having to make any modifications to it.
