Description
The invention relates to irons comprising a housing, an ironing soleplate comprising a heating resistor which is embedded in the soleplate and the ends of which protrude from the upper face of said soleplate in the rear region of the iron, as well as a heat shield interposed between said upper face of the sole and the housing, and held on said sole by fixing means.
In known irons, the sole is made of a piece of casting generally of aluminum and the fixing means consist of several screws which pass through the heat shield and which engage, either with tapped bores made in the sole, either with riveted or crimped metal tabs on the sole (see for example GB-A-2 158 105).
The drawback of using such fixing means lies in additional operations for machining the sole and in the increase in the number of parts on the upper face of the sole, knowing that this surface is small and receives the electrical connections. . In addition, these machining operations and these additional parts require non-automated assembly and increase the cost price of these soles.
The invention aims to overcome these drawbacks and to achieve a mounting of the screen on the sole which is simple and economical.
According to the invention, the means for fixing the heat shield comprise, in the front part of the sole, a member for anchoring the screen to the sole and, in the rear part of the sole, a device for hanging the screen on the protruding ends of the resistor.
- la figure 1 est une vue schématique partielle d'un fer à repasser illustrant en coupe la fixation d'une semelle et d'un écran thermique selon l'invention ;
- la figure 2 est une vue en coupe selon la ligne II-II de la figure 1 ;
- la figure 3 est une vue agrandie en coupe verticale d'une variante de réalisation d'un détail de la fixation de l'écran sur la semelle ;
- la figure 4 représente en coupe partielle et schématiquement un fer à repasser à vapeur selon l'invention ;
- Figure 1 is a partial schematic view of an iron illustrating in section the attachment of a sole and a heat shield according to the invention;
- Figure 2 is a sectional view along line II-II of Figure 1;
- Figure 3 is an enlarged view in vertical section of an alternative embodiment of a detail of the fixing of the screen on the sole;
- Figure 4 shows in partial section and schematically a steam iron according to the invention;
The iron shown schematically in Figure 1 includes a housing 1 forming a handle and made of a plastic material not withstanding very high temperatures, an ironing sole 2 made of a piece of foundry generally of aluminum and comprising a
The housing 1 is therefore isolated from the heating sole and is fixed to the heat shield 7 by any known means 8 such as screws or clips.
According to the invention, the means for fixing the heat shield 7 comprise, in the front part from the sole, an
Thanks to this mounting of the screen on the sole, it is understood that one avoids in the rear part both anchoring members, such as screws, and bores or tabs attached to the sole and thus , while recovering space to arrange the electrical connections, the cost price of such a soleplate fitted with a screen is lowered.
As can best be seen in FIG. 2, the
In a preferred embodiment, these hooks are formed by
In order to ensure better attachment of the screen 7 to the ends 4 and 5 of the resistor, the underside of the screen has a boss B which comes to bear on the sole between the
As shown in the figures, the ends 4 and 5 of the
According to a variant illustrated in FIG. 3 and in order to improve the friction while possibly making up for the assembly clearances liable to occur in mass production, each end 4,5 of the resistance comprises a
In order to guarantee the correct positioning and secure fixing of the screen 7 on the sole 2, the anchoring
As will be understood, the mounting of the screen 7 on the sole 2 as described above with reference to an iron of the dry type illustrated in FIG. 1, can also be applied to an iron of the type steam as illustrated schematically in Figure 4. For the convenience of reading the drawings, we kept for similar parts the same references as those of Figures 1 to 3. This iron comprises a housing 1 containing a
Le boîtier 1 est séparé de la semelle 2 par un écran thermique 7 présentant le même genre d'organes de fixation, c'est-à-dire : organe d'ancrage 9 et guides tubulaires 13,14 pratiqués dans l'écran 7.The housing 1 is separated from the sole 2 by a heat shield 7 having the same kind of fixing members, that is to say: anchoring
Thus, whether it is a dry or steam iron soleplate, the method of fixing the heat shield 7 to the soleplate 2 is the same and consists in threading by translation, from the rear part towards the front part of the sole, the
This process can thus be partially automated and has the advantage of being simple and economical.
