Definitions

  • the invention relates to a printing press, preferably a flexographic printing press, with an impression cylinder and a plurality of printing units, in which the bearings of the format cylinders and the inking units with the anilox rollers on guides of the printing press frame can be moved radially or almost radially to the impression cylinder and in which the drive of the format cylinders and Anilox rollers are derived from a central drive, preferably a central wheel, the anilox rollers being in drive connection with the central drive or the central wheel via a freewheel, and a continuous drive is provided for the anilox rollers that can be moved away from the format cylinders.
  • Flexographic printing machines of this type are known, for example, from DE-OS 29 41 521, 34 37 216, 37 42 129 and 40 01 735.
  • the impression cylinders as well as the format cylinders assigned to each impression cylinder and the raster and Dipping rollers of the inking units during normal printing operation are driven by a first central wheel, which meshes directly with the gears attached to the one shaft journal of the impression cylinders, while the drives of the format cylinders and the anilox and dipping rollers are derived from gear wheels wedged onto the other shaft journals.
  • a second central wheel which can be driven by a servo motor, which drives the meshing drive wheels of the anilox and plunger rollers via gears that are freely rotatable on the journal of the impression cylinder and format cylinder , wherein a coupling device is provided which switches the drive of the second central wheel to the servomotor when the machine is at a standstill.
  • European patent application 0 498 012 A1 also discloses a flexographic printing press with a single impression cylinder, to which several printing units consisting of printing cylinder and inking roller are assigned. Both the impression cylinder and the individual printing units are driven by a central drive gear.
  • the main drive gear is assigned an auxiliary drive gear provided with the same number of teeth, which can be driven by a separate motor.
  • By moving gear wheels assigned to the individual printing cylinders it is possible to connect the individual printing units to the main drive wheel during printing or to the auxiliary drive wheel during a standstill.
  • an imperative requirement is that the speed of the main drive wheel is equal to the speed of the auxiliary drive wheel and that the teeth of the main drive wheel are aligned with the teeth of the auxiliary drive wheel. The design and construction effort required for this is very considerable.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to provide a more simply constructed continuous drive for the inking unit rollers and in particular the anilox rollers of printing machines, in particular flexographic printing machines.
  • this object is achieved in a printing machine of the type specified at the outset in that the continuous drive consists of a chain driven by a servo motor or a toothed belt which loops around all of the drive gears of the anilox rollers by deflecting them via deflection wheels, three of which are fixed to the frame and one each is arranged on the associated inking unit or anilox roller carriage in such a way that the strands of the toothed belt which run on and run from the deflection wheels arranged radially outside the anilox roller gear wheel and the strands of the toothed belt which surround the radially outer deflection wheels in parallel run to each other, and that the ink roller blocks or the anilox rollers can also be moved on their guides parallel to the parallel strands of the toothed belt.
  • the anilox rollers can be moved in the direction of the impression cylinder and away from it for the purpose of exchanging format cylinders or in the event of interruptions in the printing operation, without any loosening of the toothed belt in relation to this, due to the parallel guidance of the runs of the toothed belt and the anilox roller blocks on the cogwheels driving the anilox rollers, because the parallel alignment of the splines of the timing belt always results in a length compensation. Since the drive of the toothed belt is coupled to the central drive or the central wheel via a freewheel in normal printing operation, the toothed belt can be driven easily by a continuous motor consisting of a servomotor when the machine is at a standstill. The servomotor expediently also drives the toothed belt via a freewheel, so that during normal printing operation the freewheel motor does not have to be uncoupled or dragged along.
  • the anilox rollers are expediently driven by the central wheel via the toothed belt in that an intermediate toothed wheel meshes with the central wheel and a gear arranged on the drive shaft for the toothed belt.
  • the toothed belt driving the anilox rollers is driven by the central wheel, without the drive gear wheels of the format cylinders being parts in the drive chains for the anilox rollers.
  • the gear meshing with the intermediate gear is expediently provided with the freewheel.
  • the drive shaft for the toothed belt is provided with a further gearwheel provided with a freewheel, which is in drive connection with the servo motor.
  • the two freewheels are arranged on a common shaft that carries the drive gear for the toothed belt.
  • the format cylinder gears can mesh directly with the gear, so that the format cylinders can be easily replaced.
  • the flexographic printing press is basically of a known type, as is known for example from DE-OS 29 41 521, 34 37 216, 37 42 129 and 40 01 735, to which reference is made for a more detailed explanation.
  • the flexographic printing machine shown in the drawing has a frame in which a common impression cylinder 1 is mounted for all printing units. Furthermore, the printing machine frame is provided on both sides with consoles, for example from DE-OS 29 41 521, which are provided with guides for the carriage carrying the format cylinder blocks, these format cylinder slides in turn being provided with guides for the inking block.
  • the flexographic printing machine shown in the drawing only has one anilox roller 2, which is provided with an ink chamber doctor blade in a known and therefore not described manner.
  • Each printing unit consists of a format cylinder 6, which is mounted in a format cylinder block and can be moved on a format cylinder slide, only the format cylinders 6 being indicated in the drawing.
  • the inking unit slides are slidably mounted on the format cylinder slides in linear guides, on which the anilox rollers 2 are mounted in corresponding anilox roller blocks.
  • a deflection wheel 7 for the toothed belt 4 is freely rotatably mounted on each inking unit carriage.
  • the deflection wheel 7 can thus be moved together with the anilox roller 2 without this changing their relative position to one another.
  • Deflection wheels 8 to 14 for the toothed belt 4 are mounted in the frame laterally offset to the inside of the impression cylinder 1.
  • freely rotatable deflection wheels 15 for the toothed belt 4 are mounted in the frame 3.
  • the deflecting wheels 7, 15 each assigned to a printing unit as well as the format roller 6 and the anilox roller 2 each have the same reference numerals.
  • the toothed belt 4 is an endless toothed belt which is driven by the toothed belt drive wheel 18 by the servomotor 20 provided with a gear 19. In the area of the drive wheel 18, the toothed belt is guided over the deflection wheels 21, 22 fixed to the frame, so that it surrounds the drive wheel 18 in a loop-like manner.
  • the toothed belt 4 is guided in a loop-like manner via the drive gearwheels 24 of the anilox rollers 2 in the manner shown in FIG.
  • the strands 25 running from the inner frame-fixed deflection wheels 8 to 14 onto the deflection wheels 7 and the strands 26 of the toothed belt 4 running from the frame-fixed deflection wheels 15 to the inner frame-fixed deflection wheels 10 are parallel to one another. Furthermore, the runs 27, which run from the drive toothed wheels 24 of the anilox rollers 2 to the outer deflection wheels 15 fixed to the frame, are parallel to the runs 25, 26 , 26, 27 of the drive belt 4 are parallel.
  • This type of reeving of the toothed belt 4 does not change its length when the anilox rollers 2 are moved, because the changes in length of the strands 25, 27 always correspond to each other when the anilox roller 2 is moved, so that the changing lengths of the strands are fully compensated of the timing belt 4 occurs.
  • the inner frame-fixed deflection wheels 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 are each assigned two printing units, so that the number of deflection wheels can be avoided.
  • a drive shaft 31 is mounted in the upper frame attachment 30 of the printing press frame, on which the drive wheel 18 for the toothed belt 4 is fixed by a feather key 32.
  • the gear 34 is also placed over a freewheel 33, which meshes via an intermediate gear 35 with the central gear 36 connected to the impression cylinder 1.
  • a gear 38 which meshes with the drive gear 39 of the gear servo motor 19, 20, is placed on the shaft 31 via a further freewheel 37.
  • the toothed belt 4 is therefore driven by the central wheel 6 via the toothed wheel 34 provided with the freewheel 33, which rotates the shaft 31 provided with the drive wheel 18.
  • the servomotor 20 When the machine is at a standstill, the servomotor 20 is switched on, so that the toothed belt 4 is driven at a lower speed via the pinion 39 and the gearwheel 38 provided with the freewheel 37.
  • the format cylinders 6 are driven via the format cylinder drive gearwheels 40 which mesh directly with the central wheel 6.
  • the format cylinder 6 can therefore be replaced without the drive for the anilox rollers having to be set up again.
