Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Mittel und dessen Anwendung für die Entschwefelung, Entphosphorung, Entsilicierung und Entstickung von Roheisen-, Gußeisen-, Ferrochrom- und Ferromanganschmelzen. The invention relates to an agent and its application for desulfurization, dephosphorization, desiliconing and denitrification of pig iron, cast iron, ferrochrome and ferromanganese melting.
Numerous proposals for means for desulfurizing iron melts have become known in recent decades. Of these, in particular agents based on calcium carbide (CaC 2 ), which are provided with additives which release gas when used in the molten iron, were able to prevail.
These described for example in DE-PS 17 58 250 Allow funds in connection with suitable introduction methods the treatment of large throughputs of molten iron, where calcium carbonate as gas-releasing Means is used. In DE-OS 22 52 795 calcium hydroxide described as a gas-releasing component. Out EP-A 0 138 417 is a mixture of quicklime and limestone carbon, to which fluorspar added has been known.
These funds have not been able to gain general acceptance, because they have particularly poor flow behavior exhibit and consequently only with difficulty can be funded by piping systems. It also says counter the use of these known means that they too much slag and high iron losses in the form of fine and medium-sized granules, their content of iron can rise to 70% by weight in the slag.
Regardless, these well-known additives are their purpose in addition to the gas elimination lies in the used Dilute base desulphurizing agent to convey this to be able to handle it better. To this end flow aids are added to the mealy character to change the base desulfurization agent, e.g. is described in EP 0 226 994.
Some of these diluents release gas which involves mixing the desulfurization agent with the melt should improve. The backlog from this Decomposition is always - whether hydrated lime or limestone is used - lime, which at the temperatures of treated melts is in the solid state. There Diffusion processes the desulfurization with solid phases control and the available time is decisive for this, lime particles present in the solid state hardly or only to a small extent on the desulfurization participate, which is why they are referred to as metallurgically passive become.
Slags from mixtures of calcium carbide, limestone and Flow aids tend to form batches and Crusts in the pan, the slag ceiling becomes stiff and is difficult to handle. They are mechanical aids required to these crusts and approaches too remove. Often after desulfurization with such Mixtures a flux, for example fluorspar or Soda, to be abandoned to the crusts formed to solve.
In DE-OS 30 08 950 proposals are described to to improve the efficiency of the desulfurization agent while mastering the slag problem. However, these suggestions were all unsuited to to solve the problems associated with segregation of the components due to different surface properties and their handling easier.
In addition, the known gas-releasing substances part of the calcium carbide for chemical reactions with the carbon dioxide of the added carbonate or Water from the hydroxides is consumed. According to the DE-PS 22 52 796 the treatment agents are hydrogen or nitrogen-releasing substances added. The addition such substances, if hydrogen gas is formed will have a deoxidizing effect unless this effect is restricted by large amounts of production gas. The problem the solid reaction does not experience any of these additives Solution.
It has also been proposed to use fluorspar as a thinner Component to choose to liquefy the slag to favor. Apart from the ecological problems in the storage of slag containing fluorite, but can the fluorspar has no fundamental desulfurizing effect be attributed.
In the so-called stirrer desulfurization process always the risk of crusting. In the field of Melt pool surface is caused by the rotation of the stirring bar the slag more or less on the wall of the Vessel pressed. In the forming crusts in shape the calcium carbide preferably sticks to caking, so that it is not drawn into the melt via the drum becomes. In this way, the calcium carbide burns ineffectively or remains unused in the slag. As a result Such a crust formation will damage Stirring bar and its lifespan is reduced, so that the practical use of the theoretically very effective stirring method is often restricted. This Crusting is an immediate result of Solid-liquid reaction that results in iron granules be withheld and that one before the start treatment with thin slag if necessary progressive process progress increasingly stiffened. The content of iron granules in such slags can be up to 70 wt .-%.
The proposal to use calcium carbide with a composition approximately corresponding to the CaO-CaC 2 eutectic instead of the technical calcium carbide with a CaC 2 content of approximately 80% by weight was likewise unsatisfactory, since the slags formed also with such a calcium carbide eutectic composition were tough to stiff and consequently retained considerable amounts of iron in the form of iron granules. Undesired caking or crusts were also observed.
Die Druckschrift JP-A-51 054016 beschreibt ein Entschwefelungsmittel, das aus 70 bis 99 Gew.% technischem Calciumcarbid (70-80 Gew.% CaC2, Rest im wesentlichen CaO) und 1 bis 30 Gew.% Kaolinit (Hauptbestandteile Al2O3 und SiO2),Montmorillonit, Glimmer (mica) mit den Hauptbestandteilen K2O, Al2O3 und SiO2 besteht.JP-A-51 054016 describes a desulfurization agent which consists of 70 to 99% by weight technical calcium carbide (70-80% by weight CaC 2 , the remainder essentially CaO) and 1 to 30% by weight kaolinite (main components Al 2 O 3 and SiO 2 ), montmorillonite, mica (mica) with the main components K 2 O, Al 2 O 3 and SiO 2 .
Furthermore, the publication EP-A-0 225 560 describes a desulfurization agent which, in addition to 75-80% by weight CaO, also 15-25% by weight alkali silicates such as nepheline, syenite, orthoclase (Al 2 O 3 .6SiO 2 .K 2 O) Contains, nepheline, feldspar (= orthoclass and plagioclase) and feldspathoid with a high content of Na 2 O and K 2 O.
The use of known means that a solid-liquid reaction condition always requires optimal working conditions, which are usually not feasible in operational scope are. This is hardly the case in operational processes possible to find the best stirrer in the pan.
The depth of the lances plays a role in the blowing process or the fill level in the pan plays a significant role, especially with torpedo pans, since these are elongated Transport vessels an accumulation of the slag represents a serious disadvantage. Overall, that all factors that affect the dwell time of a Shorten the desulphurising agent in the melt Influence efficiency considerably.
The proposal to use metallic aluminum in a content of 0.02 to 0.04% by weight of Al sol can improve the efficiency of the agent, but does not eliminate the problems with the then rather dry slag.
Regardless, such an aluminum additive is disadvantageous, because the yield of the introduced metallic Aluminum is low. The introduction of the aluminum in torpedo pans is difficult and unsafe and elevated the cost of the desulfurization treatment is considerable.
The usual blow-in technique and analogously the stirrer technique are when using calcium carbide as Desulfurizing agent due to the phenomenon of incubation time disadvantaged because during a period of about 20 to 30% of the total duration of treatment as long as none significant implementation takes place in the melt until the Slag on the melt through the stirring and blowing movement reheated and at least partially liquefied has been. This also applies if additional Slag is abandoned, as this too only in the state must be added to take up the reaction products.
The previously known additives for basic desulfurization agents have no or very limited helped the inherent problems of the solid-liquid reaction to get around. Most of all, these additives participated only to a limited extent, influences from operational process variables - blowing in or stirring - to overcome.
The invention is therefore based on the object Desulphurization, dephosphorization, desilicon agents and denitrification of pig iron and cast iron melts, which has the advantages of calcium carbide or Lime is able to preserve and with suitable additives is also able to cope with the negative influences of Solid-liquid reaction and the constantly fluctuating operating conditions to eliminate or at least reduce. The agent should also be suitable in ferrochrome and Ferromanganese melting desulfurizing or dephosphoric to act.

The mineral raw materials mentioned are abundant and inexpensive, are easy to process and can be used without restrictions. There are no ecological problems associated with the use of these mineral raw materials. If necessary, their composition can be optimized in their composition by sintering measures or fusion with other materials, such as sodium, lithium or potassium carbonate, among others. By adding alkali carbonate, the alkali oxide content can be increased to 50% by weight by means of a sintering or melting process. Sodium carbonate is preferably used to adjust the Na 2 O content to approximately 30% by weight.
A lime content in the agent according to the invention of 10 to 30% by weight has proven to be advantageous.
Furthermore, it has been shown that the agent according to the invention can be used in addition to its use as a desulfurization agent for dephosphorization, for desiliconization and for denitrification of iron melts and in ferrochrome and ferromanganese melts. For such uses, the agent according to the invention preferably contains at least one further additive in the form of iron oxides, iron ores, scale, chrome or manganese ore, optionally supplemented by lime and / or an alumina carrier such as kaolinite ([Al (OH) 4 ] 2 [Si 2 O 5 ]), muscovite ([K Al 2 (OH) 2 ] [Si 3 O 10 ]) or montmorillonite ([Al 2 (OH) 2 ] [Si 4 O 10 ]) in an amount of 5 to 20% by weight. -% as a slag generator. The iron oxide content is particularly preferably 5 to 40% by weight, an iron oxide content of 30 to 40% by weight having been found to be the most suitable.
It has proven advantageous that the 10 to 50 wt .-% agent according to the invention from at least one of the raw materials zeolite, bentonite, vermiculite, and / or Muskovit, remainder calcium carbide and / or lime exists. On Share of these mineral raw materials in the amount of 10 to 30% by weight in the agent according to the invention is very special prefers. The components of the agent according to the invention have essentially the same grain size ≤ 9 mm, with a grain size of ≤ 0.5 for the blowing process mm and a grain size of ≤ 2 for the stirrer method mm is provided. For the addition of the invention By means of the tapping channel or tapping pan Grain of the agent in the range of ≤ 5 mm.
The agent according to the invention is either a Immersion lance introduced into the melt or with suitable Devices abandoned. By using two or more dosing systems can use the components of the agent combined in the lance or mixed in the task become. To the composition of the agent during the To be able to change the treatment of the melt are the Components of the agent dosed separately and into the Promoted melt.
The technical progress achievable with the invention can be seen in addition to the advantages already mentioned in the fact that a particularly fine grinding of the agent or its components can be dispensed with, since the agent according to the invention is partially liquid at the temperatures of the metal melts. This eliminates the need for support problems that arise with poorly flowing materials. Special flow aids are therefore generally not required for the agent according to the invention. In a comparable way, extremely fine grinding of the calcium carbide or lime can also be dispensed with. When using the agent according to the invention, no intermittent conveying can be observed, which occurs disruptively in the case of desulfurization agents customary in the prior art. Subsequently, when using the agent according to the invention, there is also largely no fear of ejection or spraying.
The following examples are intended to explain this invention in more detail.
The components were introduced both in the premixed state (mono-injection) and separately with two to three blowers (co-injection), the mixing being carried out in the line to the lance.
185 t and in torpedo pans with approx. 220 t pig iron. The initial sulfur content S A was in the range of 0.042% by weight. The pig iron temperature in the tests ranged from 1350 to 1420 ° C.

Die anhand der erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzung der
Gemische 1 bis 8 erhaltenen Ergebnisse wurden mit jenen
verglichen, welche mit Standard-Entschwefelungsmitteln

Gew.-% Calciumcarbonat erzielt wurden. The based on the composition of the
All mixtures, including those based on lime, were left promote yourself bumplessly from the blower. The total amount of gas produced per kg desulphurizing agent could Mixtures 1 to 5 according to the invention kept at 6-10 Nl / kg become. The desulfurization rate (kg / min) could be between 50 and 100 for all mixtures kg / min can be varied.
With all mixtures, the slag was after treatment so flexible that it can be tilted simply by tilting it could be made to expire; the rest of the slag could be easily removed mechanically. There were no crusts observed; the favorable slag consistency remained enough for an operational process received for a long time.
This was compared with the standard desulfurization agents a production gas requirement of 22 to 70 Nl / kg was observed, accompanied by undesirable intermittent funding from the blower with the consequence of considerable ejections. The resulting slag was rich in iron granules, stiffened quickly and was difficult to remove.
Additions from techn. Calcium carbide, from 30 to 60 wt .-%, to the mineral raw materials used according to the invention improved the effect so significantly that the consumption figures were 10 to 30 wt .-% lower under otherwise constant conditions than in the conventional use of techn. Calcium carbide, limestone and carbon, whereby it made no significant difference whether calcium carbide (with approx. 80 wt.% CaC 2 ) or eutectic calcium carbide (with approx. 67 wt.% CaC 2 ) was used. The blow rate in the torpedo pan could be varied between 50 and 100 kg / min without an uncontrollable ejection occurring. The resulting slag was very mobile and contained considerably less iron granules than in the desulfurization agents customary in the prior art.
In the experiments shown in Fig. 1 was in Working range from 1,350 to 1,420 ° C is not an essential one Influence of temperature determined. The spread of the Desulfurization results, however, were lower than for usual desulfurization agents.
Try in torpedo pans with a pig iron content of Approx. 220 t gave analog metallurgical results.
It was surprisingly found that the invention Noticeable dephosphorization, denitrification as well Desiliconization of the iron melt parallel to the desulfurization triggered. Particularly high in sodium or potassium Minerals, such as albite or potash feldspar, but also increased Levels of sodium bentonites mixed with lime or lime and scale showed an effective dephosphorization and effective silicon degradation.
The calm reaction of feldspar, which was increased to 30 to 50% by weight in the Na 2 O or K 2 O content in the sintering or melt flow, was particularly favorable and completely surprising.
The proportion of albite or Na 2 O-enriched albite in mixtures for targeted dephosphorization / desiliconing / denitrification was limited to approximately 15 to 50% by weight. The addition to 100% was carried out with the help of scale or iron ore and lime. It was found that the nitrogen breakdown is essentially linearly related to the albite content in the mixture used, a more progressive effect being observed at higher albite contents. On the basis of these results, it is possible to reduce the nitrogen content of pig iron by 10 to 40% by weight with the addition of albite to the dephosphorization or desulfurization agent.
For the degradation of 0.1% by weight of silicon by blowing, 6 to 8.5 kg / t of a mixture of 40 to 60% by weight of scale, approx. 30% by weight of Na feldspar (albite), the rest Lime required. With this mixture, grinding to less than 0.1 mm was advantageous. This mixture showed a parallel course of the dephosphorization / desiliconization and a practically simultaneous start of the desulfurization. It could be shown that the undesirable, because violently reacting soda (Na 2 CO 3 ) can be replaced by the mineral raw materials to be used according to the invention, the agent according to the invention also being characterized in that it can be blown in continuously, whereas soda because of its violent reactions usually must be fed intermittently to the melt. When using carrier gas enriched with oxygen, the consumption figures were reduced by up to 20%, at the same time the lime content could be increased to 40%.
The slow release of the alkali components leads not too eruptive gas bubbles, as with the Use of soda. This gradual release of the Prevents alkali constituents in the agent according to the invention, that the other components, if any, are not be thrown out of the melt, so that a total a longer period of effect is achieved.
